    Predictors of literacy skills among Chinese preschoolers

    This study was designed to determine the predictors of literacy skills among Chinese preschoolers. There were 136 preschoolers aged ranged between three to six years old with their parents and teachers recruited in this study using a Multi-Stage Cluster sampling technique. Home-based learning activities were measured using Home Learning Environment Questionnaire (Lonigan & Farver, 2002). Meanwhile, children’s literacy skills were respectively assessed using Test of Early Reading Ability Third Edition (Reid, Hresko, & Hammill, 2001). This study found that preschoolers with higher level of literacy skills were came from families who practiced more home-based learning activities, and have highly educated parents and high family monthly income. Besides that, findings revealed that older children perform high level of literacy skills. The findings of this study imply that home learning was the most significant unique predictor of child’s literacy skills within all tested variables

    The Arabic Translator COE internship program organized by the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Malang aims to provide opportunities for students to apply the knowledge learned during lectures in a more real world of work. The internship program is an activity during lectures that supports students in learning to enter the real world of work. By participating in this program, students gain knowledge about what happens in the world of work. The Internship Work Program was carried out for 2 months starting from October 2, 2023 - December 2, 2023. At PT cakrawala muda mandiri work from Monday to Friday. The internship model applied at PT Cakrawala Muda Mandiri is full time. In carrying out their duties as internship students, CMM divides the tasks to students into 2 parts, namely, the administrative field and the technician field. Therefore, the author gained work experience during the internship in the technician section. In this section, the author gained experience in knowing how to use translator tools, learning what tools are used when becoming a translator. From the results of this experience, the author can conclude that this internship is very useful for students, especially students who are ready to enter the world of work

    This research aims to determine legal protection for online social gathering participants and also to determine inhibiting factors in dealing with members who are in default. The type of research used is sociological legal research or empirical law. Empirical legal research is legal research that analyzes the actual application of law to individuals, groups, communities, legal institutions in society with an emphasis on the behavior of individuals or communities, organizations or legal institutions in relation to the application or enactment of the law. In this research, the author conducted research in Jayapura City as the author discovered problems in the field regarding the rights of owners who were disadvantaged in transactions via electronic media at online social gatherings. The research results show that the legal protection that is expected to be provided to members who experience losses is legal protection related to compensation. However, in order to get the entire compensation, the management found obstacles in it, namely the online social gathering manager could not provide proof because there was no guarantee or written agreement in it. Inhibiting factors in dealing with members who are in default are: Settlement of default cases committed by one party against another party can initially be pursued in a non-litigation manner before ultimately if a settlement is not reached then it will be continued in litigation or before trial

    Analysis and Design of Lighting at the UNIMA Workshop Building

    The need for natural and artificial lighting is a supporting component in daily human activities outside and inside buildings. For lighting to be carried out properly, it must meet the requirements stated in SNI and Minister of Health Regulation No. 70 of 2016 concerning Standard Requirements for Light Intensity. One of the goals of lighting in a building is to create sufficient lighting and reduce the risk of accidents. Referring to the description, the author is interested in understanding and researching further the existing lighting standards in the UNIMA Workshop building. In evaluating, the authors obtain research data by conducting case studies in which data is collected, processed, compared and analyzed. The results showed that the light intensity in the UNIMA Workshop room had an average of 144.2 lux and in the work area of 191.06 lux

    There are many works of classical, middle, and contemporary scholars who discuss the hadith of the prophet Muhammad SAW. These works are categorized into several types, namely primary hadith books, secondary hadith books, tertiary hadith books, mixed books with other Islamic religious sciences, and so on. One of these books, is a book entitled "Jāmi' Al-Aḥādīts Al-Qudsīyah". A book that contains qudsī hadiths, namely the traditions of the prophet Muhammad SAW who through the prophet as an intermediary for the words of Allah SWT. For more details, the author will discuss further in the content section of this paper. The book was written and compiled by 'Ishām Al-Dīn Al-Shabābitī. A scholar who searches for and collects qudsī hadiths from many books into one book, namely "Jāmi' Al-Aḥādīts Al-Qudsīyah"

    AbstractPeople living at the Waterfront City in general are defficient in the individual as well as collective awareness of their existence in the coastal area. This is particularly demonstrated in the result of this study which proves that the greatest source of waste pollutants are generated by household wastes. Smart City is an ideal urban model created by the increasing awareness of urban population on the sustainability of their existence in the coastal area. This paper is prepared through a study of the pollution load in the coastal area as well as modelling of dynamics in water area as the source of information and data to enhance public awareness on the water pollution due to their activities in the inland region. These activities subsequently give a direct impact on the sustainability of life in their coastal area

    Analysis of The Role Based on The Customary Criminal Justice System of Dayak Bangkalaan in The National Criminal Justice System

    This research is motivated by indigenous peoples' belief in customary rules which encourages studies on their legitimacy in the Indonesian legal system. The author collected study samples from the Bangkalan Dayak tribe in South Kalimantan Province as an example of an Indonesian customary village. This study focuses on two formulations of problems, namely the role of the customary criminal justice system in the national criminal justice system and the impact of Dayak Bangkalan customary criminal justice law enforcement when related to the national criminal justice system. This research is a sociological legal research, the legal data collection technique is carried out through literature review, including primary legal data, secondary legal data, and tertiary legal data related to this research. The result of the study is that the state recognizes the existence of customary law communities in accordance with Article 18B of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Even though there is no legal framework that can regulate this at the national level, the mandate of regional legislative policy still recognizes the existence of customary courts. This is evidenced by the existence of regional regulations that recognize and protect indigenous peoples. In addition, the results of the study conveyed that the legal implications arising from customary court decisions turned out to be able to be used as legal data in national criminal courts

    Succeeding criteria of community based on land transportation infrastructure for Johor innovation valley development

    Developing countries around the world have developed innovative centre, or known as innovation hub, to meet the demand of today's changing global competitive environment. The shift of economic sector from manufacturing to services has allowed numerous regions and cities around the world to undergo major structural changes. In Malaysia, Skudai area is on its way of becoming a community-based innovation hub under the Johor State Economic Growth Strategic Plan called Johor Innovation Valley (JIV). Towards this new-city concept, land transportation infrastructure is among the most important network in being a linkage to the source of contribution in enhancing the local innovative environment. This paper highlights the requirement of land transportation infrastructure criteria that would be effective in making Skudai a community-based innovation hub. Data were collected through survey questionnaires involving stakeholders with the knowledge of land transportation infrastructure who also lives within the area. Descriptive analysis was employed with further rank breakdown using Average Index analysis. The findings distinguish the differences between each criteria of land transportation infrastructure. Change in traffic system, easier accessibility to one place to another and attraction to outside investor are among the impacts of growth of JIV. This paper concluded that selected requirement of land transportation infrastructure criteria is necessary for future contribution towards the growth of the JIV
