A preliminary study on cost of lost in answer booklet: a case study in UiTM cawangan Perlis
A cut off budget up to 27 percent for the year 2016, have significant impact to the public institutions of higher learning. Universities need to generate their own income and minimize unnecessary expenditures to ensure all activities that have been planned working smoothly. A study on 90 Answer Booklets for examination session October 2015 reveals a total of 419 unused pages and this cost a RM8.38 lost. As a basis of comparison, in year 2014 the estimated cost of lost for unused pages for both UiTM Perlis and all other UiTM campuses are RM7,222.45 and RM131,145.79 respectively. The university needs to redesign the Answer Booklet so that students can fully utilise pages provided and minimize the cost of preparing the Answer Booklet

Overview of the main methods used to combine proteins with nanosystems: absorption, bioconjugation, and encapsulation.
The latest development of protein engineering allows the production of proteins having desired properties and large potential markets, but the clinical advances of therapeutical proteins are still limited by their fragility. Nanotechnology could provide optimal vectors able to protect from degradation therapeutical biomolecules such as proteins, enzymes or specific polypeptides. On the other hand, some proteins can be also used as active ligands to help nanoparticles loaded with chemotherapeutic or other drugs to reach particular sites in the body. The aim of this review is to provide an overall picture of the general aspects of the most successful approaches used to combine proteins with nanosystems. This combination is mainly achieved by absorption, bioconjugation and encapsulation. Interactions of nanoparticles with biomolecules and caveats related to protein denaturation are also pointed out. A clear understanding of nanoparticle-protein interactions could make possible the design of precise and versatile hybrid nanosystems. This could further allow control of their pharmacokinetics as well as activity, and safety
Load balancing technique using semiconductor devices / Nor Azlan Abdul Aziz
The objective of this project is to study feasibility of developing a new method for balancing 3 phase unbalanced load with respect to the supply system using an inverter device. This report comprise of three stages : (i) computer simulation ii) hardware design and (3) experimental research. The first staqe describes the analysis of an inverter in which the schematic configuration is simulated using Saber software
Polycrystalline ZnO nanorods for lasing applications
Single and double mode random lasing were observed in a polycrystalline ZnO nanorod array. The double mode random lasing showed mode competition when the mode spacing was 2.3 nm or below. Structurally, X-ray diffraction measurements confirmed the formation of the polycrystalline phase, and photoluminescence measurements revealed a broad visible peak due to point defects, suggesting enhanced oxygen diffusion due to annealing. Our results suggest polycrystalline nanorods prepared by chemical bath deposition as a material system for obtaining random lasing for optoelectronic applications and devices. The authors are grateful for partial funding from a USM short-term grant (No. 304/PFIZIK/6312155) and from the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF)—EPSRC Institutional Sponsorship. W. Maryam also acknowledges Professor Azlan Abdul Aziz for in-kind contribution of the sputtering target. The authors would like to thank Professor Dr. Boon S. Ooi from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) for giving the opportunity to perform the random-lasing measurements in his laboratory (Photonics Laboratory)
Comparison manual and CVT transmission for a car under 1 liter engine
This thesis presented about comparison manual and CVT transmission. This thesis deals with analysis on performance of transmission for a car under 1 liter engine. The objective of this thesis is to compare the performance of transmission between manual transmission and CVT transmission. Besides that, the purpose of this thesis is to analyze the performance of the Manual Transmission and the CVT Transmission for a car under 1 liter engine. This thesis also purposes to study the suitability using CVT for a car under 1 liter engine. Manual transmission and CVT transmission have their own advantages and one of that is better in their performance. In performance, there are many category that compared consist of power available, tractive force, fuel consumption and many more. The data used for the analysis is obtained through calculation using specification data that has got from brochure which is downloaded from Toyota’s official web because this model only market at Europe. This model fulfilled this project because it had two types of transmission which is CVT transmission and Manual Transmission. The post-processing method was performed using manual calculation with certain engineering formula and graph is plotted by using assistance software such as Microsoft Excel. The post-processing method to analyze the performance of transmission was performed using the SAE definition. From the results, it is observed that the performance of CVT is better than manual transmission. It is also observed that Manual Transmission is better than CVT in term of fuel consumption for a car under 1 liter engine. Besides that, CVT are suitable to use for a car under 1 liter engine because it gives more power and ride comfort ability. Future work, this comparison between manual transmission and CVT must do in experimental or simulation since CVT technology just begun to blossom to Malaysia. There are many factors that required to do research by experimental especially in transmission’s performance and driveability
