    Jagung ( Zea mays L.) ialah komoditas pangan penting setelah beras yang tingkat kebutuhannya terus meningkat seiring dengan pertambahan penduduk, kebutuhan gizi masyarakat, diversifikasi pertanian, dan kemajuan sektor industri yang memanfaatkan jagung sebagai bahan bakunya. Permintaan jagung pada tahun 2010 sebesar 19,86 juta ton pipilan kering dan diperkirakan pada tahun 2011 sebesar 19,93 juta ton (BPS, 2011) sedangkan produksi jagung tahun 2010 adalah 18,36 juta ton dan diperkirakan tahun 2011 mengalami penurunan menjadi 17,93 juta ton (BPS, 2011). Kendala budidaya tanaman jagung ialah pengolahan tanah dan kompetisi dengan gulma. Pengolahan tanah seringkali tidak mampu mengendalikan keberadaan gulma karena selama pengolahan tanah terjadi proses penyebaran organ-organ vegetatif gulma seperti stolon, rhizome dan akar yang terpotong oleh alat pertanian sehingga populasi gulma meningkat. Waktu penyiangan yang tepat adalah pada saat periode kritis tanaman. Penyiangan dilakukan pada periode ini, diharapkan tanaman akan memberikan hasil yang lebih baik. Dengan penambahan waktu penyiangan menjadi 3 kali yaitu 21, 42 dan 63 hst diharapkan dapat menekan pertumbuhan gulma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh sistem olah tanah dengan waktu penyiangan pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung dan memperoleh kombinasi sistem olah tanah dengan waktu penyiangan yang tepat pada pertanaman jagung. Hipotesis yang diajukan ialah penggunaan sistem olah tanah yang semakin berkurang membutuhkan waktu penyiangan semakin banyak pada pertumbuhan jagung dan tanpa olah tanah dan waktu penyiangan 3 kali (21, 42 dan 63 hst) memberikan hasil tertinggi tanaman jagung. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2011 sampai Juni 2011 di lahan penelitian Balai Benih Induk Palawija Bedali, Lawang dengan ketinggian tempat 491-500 mdpl. Mempunyai suhu rata-rata berkisar 24°C. Peralatan yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian tersebut ialah cangkul, meteran, alat tugal, tali rafia, timbangan analitik, penggaris, oven, kamera dan Leaf Area Meter (LAM). Bahan yang digunakan meliputi benih jagung var. Pioner-21, pupuk KCl, pupuk urea, pupuk SP-36 dan Fungisida dan Herbisida. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi (RPT) faktorial yang diulang 3 kali. Sistem pola tanam sebagai petak utama terdiri atas 3 perlakuan yaitu tanpa olah tanah (T 0 ), olah tanah minimal (T 1 ) dan olah tanah maksimal (T 2 ), sedangkan anak petak terdiri atas 3 petak perlakuan yaitu tanpa penyiangan (M 0 ), penyiangan 21 hst (M 1 ), penyiangan 21 dan 42 hst (M 2 ) dan penyiangan 21, 42 dan 63 hst (M 3 ). Pengamatan terhadap gulma dilakukan pada saat tanaman jagung berumur 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 hst dan 70 hst. Pengamatan terhadap jagung dilakukan secara destruktif dan non-destruktif dengan mengambil 5 tanaman contoh tanaman jagung pada setiap perlakuan yang dilakukan pada saat tanaman berumur 25, 35, 45, 55, 65 hari setelah tanam dan pada saat panen. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (uji F) pada taraf p = 0,05 dan apabila terdapat pengaruh yang nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT pada taraf p = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sistem tanpa olah tanah dan waktu penyiangan 21 dan 42 hst dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung, peningkatan ini ditunjukan oleh peubah luas daun dan indeks luas daun yang meningkat sebesar 12.64 % dan 29.11 % dibandingkan dengan olah tanah minimal dan waktu penyiangan 21 dan 42 hst maupun maksimal dan waktu penyiangan 21 dan 42 hst pada umur 65 hst. Perlakuan tanpa olah tanah dan waktu penyiangan 21, 42 dan 63 hst menghasilkan bobot kering panen tanaman jagung lebih tinggi 6.27 ton ha -1 dibanding dengan olah tanah minimal dan penyiangan 21, 42 dan 63 hst maupun olah tanah maksimal dan penyiangan 21, 42 dan 63 hst masing-masing menghasilkan 5.95 ton ha -1 dan 5.93 ton ha -1 dengan peningkatan sebesar 5.42 % dan 5.10 %

    Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menyelesaikan pemasalahan tanaman jeruk keprok Siompu yang telah berumur 5 tahun, namun belum memasuki waktu berbuah dan untuk mendapatkan teknik strangulasi yang tepat bagi tanaman jeruk pada periode transisi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dikebun jeruk milik petani Desa Lasembangi Kecamatan Lasalimu Kabupaten Buton Sulawesi Tenggara pada bulan Januari sampai Desember 2021. Rancangan percobaan yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari 3 tanaman dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga diperoleh 45 satuan percobaan. Rancangan penelitian dengan perlakuan apliaksi strangulasi pada ketinggian yang berbeda. Perlakuan adalah S1 = 20 cm dari dasar tanah, S2 = 30 cm dari dasar tanah, S3 = 40 cm dari dasar tanah, S4 = 50 cm dari dasar tanah, dan S5= 60 cm dari dasar tanah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Strangulasi dapat membungakan tanaman jeruk Keprok Siompu yang telah berumur 5 tahaun. Ketinggian strangulasi 60 cm dapat lebih cepat menginduksi pembunggaan tanaman jeruk Keprok Siompu. Jumlah bunga dan buah yang dihasilkan dari perlakuan strangulasi pada ketinggian 60 cm lebih tinggi

    Smoked fish processing business is one of the efforts to increase financially from the sale of smoked fish through proper processing, so that the welfare of fish farmers can increase which is supported by the abundance of natural resources. The purpose of this study was to analyze the finances of the management of smoked fish in Boneatiro, whether it is included in the criteria for business feasibility on a continuous basis. Analysis of the data used to identify business feasibility, among others, the amount of costs, revenues, revenue, Revenue Cost Ratio(R/C ratio), Break Even Point (BEP) products and prices. Smoked fish processing business in Boneatiro Village, Kapuntori District is profitable and feasible to run. The results of the financial feasibility analysis show that this salted fish drying business has a high profit value. In the future, profits can be further increased by increasing the number of products produced and selling directly to retailers without going through middlemen or collectors.     The presence of disturbing plants in the cultivation process of corn plants will respond to the corn crop yields. The presence of disturbing plants can cause competition in the photosynthesis process. In essence, weed control is to suppress the population. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of tillage patterns and time of weeding on maize crop products and to obtain a combination of tillage patterns with appropriate weeding times for corn planting. The experiment was conducted from February to June 2020 at the Buton UMU Research Experimental Garden. Laboratory analysis was carried out in the integrated laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of UMU Buton. The experiment was arranged in a split-plot design (RPT) with three replication.  main plots were tillage system consists of three levels., (1) T1 = zero tillage; (2) T2 = minimal tillage; and (3) T3 = maximum tillage. Subplots were a time of weeding consists of four levels., (1) P1 = no weeding; (2) P2 = weeding 21 days after planting; (3) P3 = weeding 21 and 42 days after planting; and (4) P4 = weeding 21, 42 and 63 day after planting. The results showed that the appropriate combination of T1 and T4 treatment would produce better maize/plant weight and corn seed yields of 6.27 tonnes ha-1, whereas for T2 and T3 it did not require weeding time with yields respectively maize harvest was 5.84 tonnes ha-1 and 5.83 tonnes ha-1   Keywords: konservasi, gulma, jagun

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
