TAKE AND GIVE) tergolong sedang.
A study on the effectiveness of union in F&N Beverages Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd / Ashura Shuhada Azizan
Since the perceived efficiency of union’s is one of the best predictors of an individual’s willingness to vote for or join union, or maybe to know whether the role of union are effective enough or not. Employees might join union because they expected that union will represent for them to the management if any problems or issues occur. Sometimes they ask, does the union established are effective in handling their members’ problem or meet their member’s expectation, or does the union leader play their exactly important role towards their union members. And some of the employees also refuse to join union because they might afraid of having problems with management. This study conducted to measure what is the element to ensure the effectiveness of the union. Data were gathered through a survey of 90 union members of three active unions in F&N Beverages Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, Malaysia
A Multi-Language Comparison of Influences on Author Verification using Character N-Grams
We create a new multi-language corpus for author verification based on Wikipedia talkpages, and evaluate the influence that differences in topic and time have on character n-gram author profiles. Topic alignment between two texts is found to increase author verification precision, and an authors writing style is found to change over time, but not more significantly after 3 years than after 1 year.Information ArchitectureWISElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
The vanishing author in computer-generated works: a critical analysis of recent Australian case law
Abstract
The use of software is ubiquitous in the creation of many copyright works, yet the requirement in copyright law that every work have a human author who engages in independent intellectual effort means that its use may prevent copyright subsistence. Several recent Australian cases have refocused attention on authorship as an essential criterion of copyright subsistence, and these cases suggest that much computer-produced output may be authorless and thus lack copyright protection. This article, the first in a two-part series, analyses how each case deals with the question of authorship of computer-produced works and why the use of software diminishes copyright protection for a significant number of computer-generated works. The article critiques the application of conventional notions of human authorship developed in the pre-computer age to modern productions and suggests alternative approaches to authorship that satisfy both the major objectives of copyright policy and the need to adapt to the computer age. The article argues that, without a broader judicial approach to authorship of computer-generated works, Parliament must remedy the lacuna in protection for these ‘authorless’ works. Possible solutions for reform are suggested. In a forthcoming article, the author comprehensively examines those reform proposals
Diffusive author(s), cohesive author: Analysis of S/N (1994)
This study indicates the ways in which various aspects of the author(s) are brought forth in Dumb type’s performance art, the S/N production. Previous research has suggested a non-hierarchical organization of Dumb type and the absence of a “privileged author” in Dumb type’s collaborative work, S/N. However, the results that I have investigated from member’s interviews on the creative process of S/N along with my analysis of the recorded images of S/N, indicate a different aspect of the author(s). First, S/N was created through, so to speak, the collective ideas of the members of Dumb type. Further, S/N has at least nine quotations from previous performances, installations, and printed writings, besides the work-in-progress technique. Explicating one of the “author functions” as given by Michel Foucault, each text has plural subjects of the author. However, it has been revealed from members’ interviews that Teiji Furuhashi had a decision-making role in selecting the members’ ideas within the performance. Since then, S/N has had plural subjects of creation; however, Furuhashi is one of the subjects of creation along with the “privileged author.” S/N has plural authors (diffusive authors) yet at the same time, it has a “privileged author,” Teiji Furuhashi (cohesive author)
Pome treatment technology using biological and physical method: a review / Noor Sahira Noor Azizan
Oil palm or Elaeis guineensis is a species of palm usually known as African oil palm. Recently, palm oil from the oil palm has become the world’s most popular vegetable oil due to high quantity of production. Palm oil mills have been declared as one of the main source of environmental pollution as it generates both solid and liquid wastes. The palm oil plantations must implemented various measures to lessen the environmental impact. The solid waste are known as Sludge Palm Oil (SPO) while the liquid waste is Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). Other than that, the increasing in the waste production had generated by the increase of palm oil production eventually. Generally, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) are essential parameters used as indicators of composition and environmental impact of waste water. The high COD value is responsible for distraction of aquatic life. POME can be treated by using algae and selected aquatic plants in biological method. Research has been conducted to Chlamydomonas incerta, Pistia stratiotes, Ipomoea aquatica, Chrysopogon zizanioides and Eichhornia crassipes. The result has showed that the Eichhornia crassipes was able to reduce COD, BOD, N and P up to 50%, 90%, 88% and 64% respectively. Meanwhile for the SPO, it can be treated by physical method which is composting. Therefore, Eichhornia crassipes is the most effective biological method for POME treatment because their percentage in effectiveness in reduce contaminants is higher than other aquatic plants and microalgae. This review discusses the several potential method that are accepted and being observe in related research and also make comparison between biological and physical method of POME treatment
Adsorption Of Direct Red 80 Dye Onto ZnAlNO3 – (Hydrotalcite-like) compound / Nur Syazana Azizan
Removal of Direct Red 80 from aqueous solutions by adsorption onto hydrotalcite
particles was investigated using batch rate experiments. Layered double hydroxides of
aluminium and zinc (Zn/Al-LDH) with the molar ratio of 4:1 were prepared by
synthesized using a co-precipitation method as reported. Measurements are performed at
various initial concentrations, pH values, temperature, particles size and adsorbent
dosage. Characterization of LDH using X-Ray Diffractogram showed the presence of
sharp and intense peaks with the d-spacing 7.6 Å which signifying high crystallinity.
Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy FTIR, confirmed the impurity inorganic charge
balancing anions, Nitro group presence at 1384.27 cm-1. From Scanning Electron
Microscope (SEM) after adsorption, LDH particles were packed with DR 80 compared
before. DR 80 can adsorbed on the surface or enter the interlayer region of LDH by anion
exchange. In the adsorption of DR 80 on the LDH, maximum uptake or removal was
achieved at 99% at 50 mg/L concentration of dye at an equilibrium time of 1 hour, with
0.2 g of LDH, 425 μm particles size of LDH and at 30ºC. Isotherms for DR 80 dye
sorption LDH were described using the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm. The best fit
equilibrium model was Langmuir isotherms followed by Freundlich isotherm. From
Langmuir, adsorption capacity was found to be 36.364 mg/g. From Freundlich isotherm,
n was 22.831 which indicate that it was not fitted well to explain the adsorption of DR 80
onto LDH. As conclusion, adsorption experiments confirmed that LDH was effective in
remove of DR 80 from aqueous solutio
Endometrial stromal sarcoma with Cd56 expression: a case report
Endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS) is a rare malignant tumour of the endometrium, accounts for less than 1% of all
uterine malignancies. Routinely, it is diagnosed morphologically, supported by immunomarkers of CD10 and
vimentin. CD56 is used widely in neuroendocrine tumour. In our current practice, CD56 is not used to support the
diagnosis of ESS. We present a case of a postmenopausal lady with advanced ESS who had expression of CD56
upon immunohistochemical stud
Dissipative Range Scaling of Higher Order Structure Functions for Velocity and Passive Scalars
Differently to Kolmogorov's second similarity hypothesis, we find that the 2n-th order velocity and scalar structure functions scale with n-th order moment of the energy dissipation and the scalar dissipation, respectively. The origins of this scaling are analyzed by the transport equations of the fourth order velocity and scalar increment moments and by direct numerical simulations
