Educational aspirations and social development in the novel Aziman Anak Yatim (1965) by Mohd. Aris Bahnan
This study was conducted to examine the educational aspirations and social development in the novel Aziman Anak Yatim (1965) by Mohd. Aris Bahnan. The novel revolves around the perseverance of an orphaned and impoverished boy in realizing his dream of becoming a medical doctor in the 1960s. This study outlines three objectives to be achieved. First, to identify the depiction of a child character striving to achieve educational and social development aspirations in the novel Aziman Anak Yatim by Mohd. Aris Bahnan. Second, to analyze the actions taken to achieve educational and social development aspirations by the child character in the novel Aziman Anak Yatim by Mohd. Aris Bahnan. Third, to synthesize the relationship between external changes outside the text and the educational and social development aspirations found in the novel Aziman Anak Yatim by Mohd. Aris Bahnan. This study utilizes the Genetic Structuralism Theory to achieve these three objectives. The study’s findings reveal that the child character in the novel, Aziman, works diligently with the determination to become a medical doctor, thus escaping the grip of poverty. To achieve this goal, the character of Aziman fully takes advantage of the government's educational and social development plans in line with the advancements made after Malaysia gained its independence
Simulation of induction machine on a personel computer using turbo C++ / Aziman Abdullah
This project is concerned on the improvement of a computer simulation software that could be used to simulate the dynamic performance characteristics of various ratings of induction motor complete with graphical analysis display to be operated on a personal computer and can be used for educational purposes. The machine analysis uses the well known Park's form of linear equations that has been transformed into state vector matrices. The equations are solved using a number of numerical methods for purposes of studying the performance of the mathematical techniques as applied in this simulation

Task-Guided and Semantic-Aware Ranking for Academic Author-Paper Correlation Inference
We study the problem of author-paper correlation inference in big scholarly data, which is to effectively infer potential correlated works for researchers using historical records. Unlike supervised learning algorithms that predict relevance score of author-paper pair via time and memory consuming feature engineering, network embedding methods automatically learn nodes' representations that can be further used to infer author-paper correlation. However, most current models suffer from two limitations: (1) they produce general purpose embeddings that are independent of the specific task; (2) they are usually based on network structure but out of content semantic awareness. To address these drawbacks, we propose a task-guided and semantic-aware ranking model. First, the historical interactions among all correlated author-paper pairs are formulated as a pairwise ranking loss. Next, the paper's semantic embedding encoded by gated recurrent neural network, together with the author's latent feature is used to score each author-paper pair in ranking loss. Finally, a heterogeneous relations integrative learning module is designed to further augment the model. The evaluation results of extensive experiments on the well known AMiner dataset demonstrate that the proposed model reaches significant better performance, comparing to a number of baselines. We would like to thank Yuxiao Dong for suggestions.
