masyarakat (PLC) dengan diri keberkesanan guru di sekolah-sekolah menengah di Pulau Pinang. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah tinjauan yang menggunakan soal selidik sebagai instrumen koleksi data. Seramai 234 orang guru dari 10 buah sekolah di barat daya Pulau Pinang telah dipilih secara rawak sebagai responden. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa tahap keberkesanan guru adalah lebih tinggi di kalangan responden di sekolah-sekolah kajian. Di samping itu, hasil kajian juga menunjukkan bahawa tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan di antara keberkesanan diri guru di kalangan guru-guru yang mempunyai pengalaman mengajar yang berbeza. Selain itu, kajian ini juga mendapati bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan tetapi lemah antara dimensi PLC dan dimensi efikasi diri guru.
Walaubagaimanapun, analisis regresi berganda membuktikan bahawa terdapat tiada dimensi PLC yang menjadi peramal yang signifikan kepada variasi perubahan dalam keberkesanan diri guru. Berdasarkan penemuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahawa walaupun kedua-dua pembolehubah iaitu PLC dan keberkesanan diri guru ialah pada tahap yang tinggi di kalangan responden, namun hubungan antara dimensi mereka lemah sekaligus dimensi PLC mempunyai kesan yang sangat rendah pada peningkatan keberkesanan diri guru

Setiap fasa bersinambung antara satu sama lain, tetapi peranan pendidikan tinggi dalam setiap fasa ini berbeza. Hal ini terjadi kerana peranan dan tujuan pendidikan tinggi berubah mengikut keperluan dan kehendak semasa masyarakat dan negara seperti yang difikirkan pihak pemerintah pada ketika itu. Malahan perubahan peranan pendidikan tinggi dalam setiap fasa amat berkaitan dengan dasar-dasar dan peraturan kerajaan. Amalan autonomi dan akauntabiliti di sekolah berautonomi dan impaknya terhadap kesediaan guru
No full textAutonomi dan akauntabiliti adalah dua aspek yang utama dalam amalan berasaskan sekolah
pengurusan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menyiasat aspek dalam pengurusan sekolah-sekolah autonomi di Malaysia dan membincangkan kesannya terhadap kesediaan guru. Data untuk kajian ini diperolehi melalui kaedah campuran iaitu tinjauan menggunakan kaedah borang soal selidik sebagai instrumen untuk mengumpul data kuantitatif dan temuduga untuk teknik data kualitatif. Seramai 788 guru dipilih secara rawak dari 60 buah sekolah autonomi telah melengkapkan soal selidik berkenaan. Manakala bagi temubual, seramai 15 pentadbir dari 6 sekolah autonomi telah dipilih sebagai responden. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa amalan aspek akauntabiliti adalah lebih tinggi daripada aspek autonomi di sekolah-sekolah autonomi. Analisis MANOVA menunujukkan keputusan mengikut kategori sekolah (sekolah prestasi tinggi, Sekolah Kluster Cohort 1 dan 2), juga mengesahkan bahawa terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan dari segi autonomi dan amalan-amalan kebertanggungjawaban antara sekolah-sekolah autonomi dengan kategori yang berbeza (Pillai mengesan nilai =.06, F = 12,96, p <.01) dan Roy ger (.07, F = 26.64, p <.01). Dan, keputusan ujian-t menunjukkan bahawa amalan autonomi dan akauntabiliti dalam sekolah-sekolah autonomi yang terletak di kawasan bandar adalah lebih tinggi daripada di kawasan luar bandar. Ttest dalam keputusan juga menunjukkan bahawa sekolah-sekolah autonomi yang kedua yang diamalkan ini ada dua aspek yang lebih tinggi daripada sekolah-sekolah rendah. Di samping itu, hasi temubual
menunjukkan bahawa autonomi dan akauntabiliti diperolehi dengan permintaan autonomi sekolah. Semua pihak di sekolah-sekolah khususnya guru-guru perlu lebih peka terhadap semua yang berkaitan aspek-aspek untuk mempercepatkan kecemerlangan sekolah mereka. Malah, kedua-dua aspek yang amalan pembahagian juga menimbulkan implikasi yang besar dari segi memperbaiki kesediaan para guru, sama ada bagi orang-orang yang sudah bekerja atau berpotensi bekerja dalam sekolah-sekolah autonomi. Berdasarkan dapatan kajian, maka dapatlah disimpulkan bahawa autonomi dan aspek akauntabiliti yang diamalkan di sekolah-sekolah autonomi di Malaysia menuntut menyediakan guru-guru yang lebih baik untuk bertindak sebagai individu yang lebih profesional disekolah
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
