The International Criminal Court was established to fulfill the role of a permanent court to try perpetrators of crimes against humanity, which, in the past was put to trial via ad-hoc tribunals. This project is meant to identify the concerns Malaysia has in matters of adopting the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and to propose viable solutions that Malaysia may adopt to deal with her concerns. In doing this, we have provided case studies of different models of implementation adopted by several state parties across the globe. We have managed to put forward academic arguments to deal with Malaysia's concerns and also viable models to be adopted in order to assist Malaysia to eventually adopt the Rome Statute. Islamic Economics: A Survey of the Literature
A central thesis of this paper is that social science is the study of human experience, and hence strongly conditioned by history. Modern Western political, economic and social structures have emerged as a consequence of the repudiation of religion, and are based on secular principles. Many of these are inimical to Islamic principles, and cannot be adapted to an Islamic society. Muslim societies achieved freedom from colonial rule in the first half of the twentieth century and sought to construct institutions in conformity with Islam. The development of Islamic economics is part of this process of transition away from Western colonial institutions. This paper focuses on the contrasts between Western economic theories and Islamic approaches to organization of economic affairs. Neoclassical theory is centered around the acquisitive instinct of humans, and makes competition the driving force of economic analysis. Islamic approaches foster cooperation and encourage generosity as the fundamental principle for handling economic affairs. Human beings have potential for good and evil, and are free to choose between the two; their behavior is not subject to mathematical laws postulated by neoclassical economic theory. The main message of Islam is that we must strive to achieve the potential for good both at the individual and at the social level. Behavior in the economic realm is also governed by this goal. Islamic law (Shari’ah) provides the framework for all activity within an Islamic society. In the economic domain, Islamic law regulates both methods by which money may be earned and also the ways it may be spent. Acquisition of wealth is permissible only in ways which are just to all parties concerned; exploitation, arbitrary taxation, and individual profit resulting in social harm is not permissible in Islamic law. This puts numerous restrictions on business practices utilized to make profits. For example, polluting the environment, or selling products which lead to moral corruption would not be permissible in Islamic law. Wealth which has been acquired becomes private property, which is both a trust and a test according to Islamic concepts. The “trust” aspect means that property must be used in ways beneficial to the individual and society. The “test” aspect means that those who have more than they need should take care of those who are in need. Ways in which acquired wealth can be spent is also subject to Islamic law. People are expected to strive to be self-sufficient and not ask from others. Thus striving to acquire wealth and spending it on personal and family needs is encouraged by Islamic law. Islam does not preach austerity and encourages a comfortable standard of living. At the same time, it strongly discourages spending on idle desires, luxuries, and ostentation. There is also a strong encouragement to spend what is beyond ones needs on social welfare. These fundamental principles for acquiring wealth, using property (acquired wealth), and spending it impact on all realms of economic activity. Since these are substantially different from Western ideas in all three areas, there are substantial contrasts between Western economic institutions and Islamic ones. The paper traces out these differences in many realms of economic activity. The primary objective of an Islamic state is to provide justice, and Islamic public finance is concerned with tracing the concrete implications of this abstraction in the economic realm. Western financial institutions have the acquisition and multiplication of wealth as their prime objective. Since acquisition of wealth can only be a means to an end, these institutions require modification in an Islamic society. Similarly, Islamic imperatives for social welfare require construction of certain uniquely Islamic types of institutions which do not have counterparts in the West. The paper discusses these issues in some detail.Islamic Economics, Neoclassical Economics

Conflict of law and the methodology of Tarjīẖ : a study in Islamic legal theory
Islamic law never achieved unity but expressed itself in, at least, four surviving schools. More interestingly, contemporary Muslim communities are still divided among themselves on a number of issues related to their laws. This work describes how problem of legal conflicts have been tackled by Muslim jurists. It is an attempt to examine closely the phenomenon of conflict in Islamic law from the standpoint of usūl-al-fiqh or Islamic legal theory. In fact, much is heard nowadays of the contradiction in the body of Islamic law. Whilst in contrast, little is presented in terms of the methodology of removing this conflict. The present work therefore, attempts to redress this balance. The emphasis of the work will be concerned primarily with tarjīh methodology ; how to give preference to one piece of evidence or argument over the other when they conflict. Nevertheless, considerable concern is given to investigating the background to the conflict of law in the Shari'ah.
This study of a neglected area in Islamic legal scholarship will be an important source of reference to students, both practising and theoretical jurists or to anyone who merely wishes to increase his knowledge of legal themes, particularly legal conflict. The very aim of the work is to argue that conflict is a natural and unavoidable consequence of legal study because legal conflict is only conflicting principles and arguments adduced by both the classical and modern jurists to reach what is actually intended by God in the target case. Therefore, conflicts are inevitable in most of the cases in fiqh owing to the variety of principles set out to deal with one piece of legal evidence, let alone with all the pieces of legal evidence in question.
Tarjīh is therefore, an important and workable instrument in the re-examination of these conflicts and in arriving at the most accurate principle for establishing the law for as long as this is possible. It is hoped that the discovery of new facts and the increase of knowledge which results from the broadening and deepening of the research will positively contribute to the process of unification of Islamic law

Analysing shooting action during prominent competition was very important because a new trends and tactical play always been implemented in this level of competition. Due to this, the purpose of present study was to analyse the shooting action between the successful and unsuccessful team during the group stage matches of FIFA World Cup 2018. Purposive sampling was used, 24-matches (n = 24) from group stage been selected, with 12 matches (n =12) from successful team and other 12 matches (n = 12) from unsuccessful teams. Successful teams been selected from top four teams that reach semi-final, while unsuccessful teams were from bottom four teams based on ranking during group stage of competition. Each team played three matches during group stage. Indicator selected, shooting action had been divided into two categories, which were the location of shooting action (inside penalty box and outside penalty box) and the area of shooting action (centre, right centre, left centre, right wing and left wing are). This study also analyses the total number of shooting actions produced by both groups. Data had been collected through a notational process (r = 0.97). Based on the finding (Independent sample t-test), there were significant differences between the successful team and unsuccessful team, when performing shooting action from inside penalty box (t = -2.216, p =0 .037), outside penalty box (t = -2.116, p = 0.046), and in total number of shooting action (t = -3.001, p = 0.007). The other indicators showed not significant differences (p > 0.05) for this study. The finding concluded that having more shooting actions during match could be beneficial for team in determining the outcome. This been proven when team produced more shooting actions during match, the outcome was a success one.
