60 anos de fotografia: um estudo de memória social sobre o Foto-Cine Clube Gaúcho, em Porto Alegre
No full textEste é um estudo de memória social sobre o Foto-Cine Clube Gaúcho (FCG), em Porto Alegre, construído a partir da análise de documentos da associação e de entrevistas com ex-alunos, sócios, ex-sócios, professores, gestores e fundadores. A pesquisa destaca a importância do clube para a formação de fotógrafos e amadores ao longo dos mais de sessenta anos de existência da entidade. Busca compreender, sobretudo, as relações entre as trajetórias individuais e profissionais dos entrevistados e a passagem pelo FCG, bem como as especificidades da formação em fotografia oferecida no clube. Foram realizados vinte e cinco contatos que resultaram em vinte e duas entrevistas. A partir disso, a sistematização dos dados apontou para quatro categorias analíticas: A fotografia como vocação, em que família, profissão e trajetórias profissionais aparecem como cenários determinantes para os contatos iniciais com a prática fotográfica; O ato fotográfico: do segredo à revelação, incluindo o tratamento da imagem após sua captura e, principalmente, a aura e a magia que envolve os processos laboratoriais de revelação e ampliação das imagens; Entre o olhar e o ver, que remete à sensibilidade e ao senso estético que particularizam a fotografia amadora e o amor pela fotografia; e A fotografia digital, um bode expiatório, em que a evolução das técnicas e práticas fotográficas, em particular no que se refere à fotografia digital, é apresentada como o principal vetor das transformações do fotoclubismo e do ponto de vista dos entrevistados, para o declínio do FCG enquanto centro de referência para a formação de fotógrafos amadores e profissionais. Em decorrência do que prevê o Programa de Mestrado Profissional em Memória Social e Bens Culturais, no qual a pesquisa se inscreve, o produto final deste estudo foi a realização de uma exposição que contempla o acervo de fotos premiadas, o acervo bibliográfico e documental e a coleção de equipamentos do FCG, bem como a produção fotográfica dos participantes da pesquisa.This is a social memory study about Foto-Cine Clube Gaúcho (FCG), in Porto Alegre city, built from the analyses of documents and interviews with former students, member, former members, teachers, managers and founders of the photo chub. The research highlights the importance of the club for the vocational training for photographers and amateurs over more than 60 years of existence. The study, above all, aims at the understanding of the relationship between the individual and professional pathway of the interviewed people and their passage by FCG, as well as the specificity of the professional training offered at the photography club. Twenty-five personal and telephone contacts were made and they resulted in twenty-two interviews. Consequently, the systematization of the data yielded four analytical categories: The photography as professional vocation, in which the family, profession and professional background appear as scenarios for determining initial contacts with the photographic practice; The photographic action: from the secret to the development, including the treatment of the images after its capture and, specially, the aura and the magic that involves the laboratorial processes of development and enlargement of the images; Between looking and seeing, that allude to the sensibility and to the aesthetic sense that particularize the amateur photography and the love for photography; and The digital photography, a scapegoat, in which the evolution of the photographic techniques and practices, particularly in relation to digital photography, is presented as the main vector of transformations of the “fotoclubismo”1 and the respondents point of view to the decline of FCG as a reference center for the training of amateur and professional photographers. According to the Professional Masters Program in Social Memory and Cultural Assets, the final product of this research was an exhibition that contemplates prize-winning photographs, the bibliographic and documental collection and the FCG equipments collection as well as a photographic production from the research participants
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Memorial da Câmara Municipal de Canoas: proposta de plano de gestão estratégico baseado em estudo comparativo de experiências congêneres
No full textThis dissertation addresses the issue of institutional memory within the Legislature and its product a proposed Plan Strategic Management, aiming at the creation of the Memorial Hall of Canoas/RS. To this end, we performed a comparative study between programs memory Legislative Houses selected, which are the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and the Municipalities of Porto Alegre and Caxias do Sul, in order to know the work done by these institutions in the areas of memory and culture, in order to subsidize the construction of our proposal. Thus, the Strategic Management Plan was prepared based on relevant theoretical background to the subject, related to the results of studies that were performed and the diagnosis on the status of the City of Canoas. The proposal provides for the creation of the Memorial in order to gather, preserve, manage, and disseminate documentary sets relevant to the history of the institution, develop and update the record of institutional memory and taking action in the community, so that these actions evidence Canoense the importance of Parliament in the context of the history of the City.Esta dissertação aborda a questão da memória institucional no âmbito do Poder Legislativo e

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. A Sociedade Grêmio Niterói em Canoas: entre a memória e a juridicização (1933-2011)
No full textO presente trabalho aborda a história da Sociedade Grêmio Niterói (SGN), um clube associativo, recreativo e cultural, fundado em 1933 no Bairro Niterói na Cidade de Canoas. Uma entidade formada por moradores de um bairro operário que trabalhavam nas indústrias têxteis do Quarto Distrito de Porto Alegre. A pesquisa registrou sua fundação, os grandes momentos com a construção de sua estrutura social e esportiva e o seu trágico fim ocorrido com a venda da sede para pagamento de dívidas trabalhistas. As mudanças culturais e sociais ocorridas nos anos 1980 e 1990, a ausência de uma gestão mais moderna e adequada às alterações econômicas que ocorriam, além das diversas causas trabalhistas, iniciadas nos anos 1990, acarretaram o fechamento definitivo da entidade. Situação recorrente em outras sociedades do Rio Grande do Sul e de outros Estados brasileiros. A estrutura do que era conhecido como Grêmio Niterói permaneceu como uma ferida exposta no coração do bairro. O registro da história da SGN está relacionado à vivência da pesquisadora no bairro e, consequentemente, em sua participação como associada, privilegiando assim a narrativa cultural, social entre a memória e a juridicização. Apesar da ausência de estudos específicos sobre o Bairro Niterói e principalmente da SGN para embasamento da pesquisa, houve envolvimento dos associados que disponibilizaram as informações, tornando possível a análise dos fatos ocorridos, a relevância da memória cultural do espaço e os dados jurídicos, que envolveram a derrocada de um espaço de socialização e lazer.
Palavras-chave: Grêmio Niterói. Memória. Direito. JustiçaThe current study invastigates the history of "Sociedade Grêmio Niterói” (SGN), an associative, recreational and cultural clubhouse. It was founded in 1933, in Niterói, one of the neighborhoods in Canoas city. An institution formed by the residents of a textile industries workers’ neighborhood of the fourth district of Porto Alegre city. This research registered since SGN foundation, the great moments of its social and sportive structure construction process until its tragic termination, after the clubhouse had been sold for payment of labor debts. Apart from the cultural and social changes in the decades of 1980’s and 1990’s; the lack of a modern management suitable for economic changes that happened; the variety of labor lawsuits in the years of 1990’s, led to the definitive termination of the clubhouse. Similar situation happened in other associations in Rio Grande do Sul among other Brazilian states. The structure of the association known as Grêmio Niterói remained as a wound in the neighborhood heart. The SGN history record is related to the researcher experience in the neighborhood, consequently, in her participation as a member, yet considering the social and cultural narrative between the memory and juridicization. Aside from the lack of specific studies on Niterói neighborhood and, specially, on the SGN for the theoretical foundation for this research, there was an involvement of the former members, who made the analysis of the facts possible, giving all the information they had about the importance of the cultural memory of the clubhouse and judicial data that involved the downfall of a socialization and leisure association
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

No full textO presente trabalho tem como resultado final a construção da memória do curso de Ciência da Computação do Unilasalle, por meio da criação do Blog de Memória Digital do laboratório 24 horas. Neste ambiente virtual os alunos e egressos, bem como (ex) professores, puderam interagir, postando fotos, depoimentos, fazendo deste espaço, um local de memória. O laboratório 24 horas em questão é um espaço utilizado principalmente por alunos no final do curso, para elaboração de seus trabalhos finais,
retratando, assim, um pouco da historia acadêmica do curso Ciência da Computação. Para fins de pesquisa, o problema abordado tem a seguinte questão: Em que medida é possível resgatar a memória do Curso de Ciência da Computação do Unilasalle em Canoas-RS? O objetivo geral é construir a memória do Curso de Ciência da Computação, tendo como base o laboratório 24 horas, que é um espaço institucional onde se encontram diferentes pessoas, com experiências e vivências diversas, porém
tendo em comum a busca da formação acadêmica.Os principais conceitos e teoriasutilizadas na construção deste projeto tiveram por base autores como Halbwachs, Nora, Lévy, Recuero e Axt. Neste processo de investigação de memória, a cultura necessariamente também será abordada. Ao pensar em cultura também se pensa em cibercultura, redes sociais, e construção coletiva de conhecimento, entrando
em gerações e contextualização de blog, que são elementosconsiderados essenciais para a proposta aqui apresentada. A metodologia desenvolvida foi baseada em pesquisa bibliográfica e qualitativa, e de coleta de dados por intermédio de depoimentos e comentários que estão publicados no blog. Os depoimentos foram enviados por email por seus autores, que responderam a um questionário estruturado e que interagiram via rede social (Facebook). O estudo apresentou aspectos que devem ser valorizados em relação à memória coletiva dos envolvidos, através de lembranças “escondidas” por trás de paredes e telas de computadores, onde há onze depoimentos de histórias vividas e carregadas de sentimentos. Além da construção desse ambiente virtual de memória, será possível aproveitar todo esse apanhado de reflexões, com outras experiências vividas, imagens fotográficas e vídeos, para realização de uma
exposição em comemoração aos 20 anos do curso que será em 2016. Com essa aproximação, ao longo dos próximos três anos, será possível uma interação na busca de materiais, como camisetas e convites dos formandos, a evolução dos alunos e egressos, sem esquecer da evolução das tecnologias das máquinas durante esses anos de história.The present work is the end result of the ongoing construction of the memory of the Unilasalle’s Computer Science course, by creating the Digital Memory Blog of the 24 hours lab. In this virtual environment students and graduates, as well as (former) teachers could interact by posting photos, testimonials, making this space a place of memory. The 24 hours lab in question is an area used mainly by students at the end of
the course, to prepare their final papers, and portraying a bit of history lived by the academy's academic computer science course. For research purposes, the problem addressed has the following question: To what extent is it possible to rescue the memory of the Computer Science Course at Unilasalle Canoas-RS? The overall goal is to build the memory of the Computer Science course, based on the 24 hours laboratory, an institutional space where there are different people with different experiences and life, but with the pursuit of academic training in common. The main concepts and theories used in the construction of this project, are studies on social memory, individual memory, collective and institutional memory. In this research process memory, culture
necessarily also be addressed. When thinking about culture also the cyberculture must be thought about, social networking and collective construction of knowledge, entering in generations and contextualization of blogs, these elements are considered essential to the proposal presented here. The methodology was developed through literature review
and qualitative research, and data collection through comments and statements that are posted on the blog. The statements were sent by email from their authors who answered a structured quiz and interacted by social networking (Facebook). The study presented aspects that should be valued in relation to the collective memory of those involved,
through memories "hidden" behind walls and computer screens, where there are stories represented by experienced feelings through eleven testimonials. Besides the construction of virtual memory environment, you can take advantage of all those reflections, experiences, images and video, to hold an exhibition celebrating the 20 years of the course will be in 2016. With this approach, over these three years, the interaction will be possible to search for stuff like shirts, the evolution of the students and graduates, not forgetting the technological evolution of the machines during those years history
