Immunglobuline im Blut neugeborener Fohlen - Etablierung eines ELISAs und vergleichende Untersuchungen zu verschiedenen Messverfahren sowie Evaluierung der Plasmatransfusion

    No full text

Funny Feminism: Reading the Texts and Performances of Viola Spolin, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and Amy Schemer

    No full text
This study examines the feminism of Viola Spolin, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and Amy Schumer, all of whom, in some capacity, are involved in the contemporary practice and performance of feminist comedy. Using various feminist texts as tools, the author contextually and theoretically situates the women within particular feminist ideologies, reading their texts, representations, and performances as nuanced feminist assertions. Building upon her own experiences and sensations of being a fan, the author theorizes these comedic practitioners in relation to their audiences, their fans, influencing the ways in which young feminist relate to themselves, each other, their mentors, and their role models. Their articulations, in other words, affect the ways feminism is contemporarily conceived, and sometimes, humorously and contentiously advocated

A Tale of the Terminally Fey: A Modern Take on Collaborative Folklore

Writing has long been seen as a solitary affair, but this was not always the case. Before widespread literacy, stories were told and retold through the power of speech. Whole communities came together to weave tales and myths. Recently that tradition has been making a return to mainstream media with the renaissance of tabletop role-playing games, which serve as a standard vehicle for group collaboration. A Tale of the Terminally Fey is an attempt to reconcile the collaborative, off-the-cuff nature of oral storytelling with traditional narratives. The author has adapted the transcripts of live sessions into the first chapter of a novel that would follow the characters through one of these storytelling campaigns

Tina Fey: "Quality" Comedy and the Body of the Female Comedy Author

    No full text
This book chapter examines the television authorship of comedy producer-performer Tina Fey. It takes Fey’s comedy as case study for the examination of the ways in which American “quality” TV comedy of the early 21 st century accommodates thematisations of gender politics and popular feminist discourses. Fey’s work is particularly relevant for this investigation, since her celebrity and comedy mobilise popular discourses around female authorship, liberal feminism, performance, and body politics in the context of American prestige comedy. In the chapter I unpack media controversies around her star text and comedy – particularly as presented in her series "30 Rock" (2006-2013) – which originated in her mobilisation of a “feminist” comic persona and in this persona’s reflection on the gendered dualism of comedy performance and authorship. As I argue, a discursive dichotomy of “writer” versus “performer” of female-centred comedy, much influenced by the postfeminist cultural paradigm, shapes and dominates Fey’s public image, helping to negotiate her presence in the higher echelons of American comedy

The Denver Pop Festival: an examination of when a cultural movement is packaged and sold for profit

In 1969, on the nights of June 27, 28 and 29, Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado hosted the Denver Pop Festival. It was three nights of incredible music brought to the Rocky Mountain Region by an upstart concert promoter named Barry Fey. Pop/rock festivals were a new invention, and Fey attempted for his event to follow a mold that had been created two years earlier at the Monterey International Pop Music Festival in northern California. Musical acts like The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Creedence Clearwater Revival electrified the Denver crowds, but what stole the show each of the three nights was gatecrashing and protests that resulted in violence, arrests and police brutality. Each night’s violence dominated the media coverage of the festival, but the media, the police, and even Fey all failed to understand why the violence occured. In this paper I trace the origins of the pop festival and link it to a cultural movement that sprung from the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco, California. I then explain, primarily through Fey, unique connections that Denver had with the cultural movement that came out of San Francisco. To do this I read through the archives of Denver newspapers, The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, examined the archives of Rolling Stone magazine, and explored an assortment of related biographies, autobiographies and music festival-related publications. My research uncovered the reason why violence broke out each night and disproved the theories from the media, the authorities, and the man who created the event. The results of this paper tell readers what happens when an organic non-commercial vibe is packaged and sold for profit.M.A.Includes bibliographical referencesby Justin Kit

[[abstract]]The study of the counseling effect about adult career transition by solution focus method Abstract I. The purpose of the study: 1. To established the adult career transition questionnaire (A.C.T.Q.) to fit adult career counseling. 2. To understood the factor influence adult career transition by adult career transition questionnaire (A.C.T.Q) for R.O.C. 3. To explored the difference between different demography variable and the influence variable of adult career transition. 4. To develop “the adult career transition counseling method by solution focus in brief therapy(S.F.B.T.)” included individual and group method. II. The subjects of the study. 1. The subjects of the survey of adult career transition questionnaire (A.C.T.Q.) was sampling from the student of the National Open University(N.O.U.).The rate of the recover was 78.20%,the population of valid sampling was 739. 2.The subjects of the experiment was from the survey scale of willing to join the experiment that was follows the A.C.T.Q. That divide into two groups. The first group have 5 subjects that was receive individual counseling. The second group have 6 subjects that were receiving group counseling. III.The variable of the experiment and the statistic method 1. We use MAONOVA、one way ANOVA、chi-square (χ2)test and t test statistic method to test the hypothesis of the study .Each one took the demography variable was independent variable then by the career transition experience variable and the scores of the factor of he A.C.T.Q was dependent variable. 2. The case study experiment was to divide 2 parts. The first group was to arrangement 3-5 times individual counseling .The second group was to arrangement 7 times group counseling. Every rating was evaluated after each experiment then evaluated by the client, observer and counselor himself. The same times we use descriptive analysis of the study to tested the counseling method of the counselor was suited by S.F.B.T. on adult career counseling. Ⅳ.The major result of the study 1. To established adult career transition questionnaire (A.C.T.Q.) that to give an instrument for adult career transition counseling and to study. 2. There have almost 30%subjects that when did the subjects have troubles on career transition will to found the counselor, That more better than generally population of Taiwan. 3. The scores of A.C.T.Q .on the different sex、occupation、education and age those have significant different. 4. The more times of career transition the more self-direction.The more nearly the career transition time the more need to be help. The more connected with counselor the more skilled to using social resource solved the career transition problem. 5. There were two factor of career self-actualized and the factor of career drive were significant different .The result of individual counseling effect evaluated scale that almost over 4 points evaluated by the client ,observer and counselor .The last time of the every rating was better than the first time so that the counseling effect of individual counseling of solution focus career transition were asserted by the client ,observer and counselor. 6. The t test with the scores of A.C.T.Q between pre test and post test received the group counseling of solution focus career transition .the factor of significant others support posttest better than pretest. The result of group counseling effect evaluated scale were asserted by the client ,observer and counselor. 7. From this study,we found the framework of individual counseling of solution focus for adult career transition was comprehensive and useful . Ⅴ.Suggestion: 1. To caring the group that career transition more times then to develop suitable guidance strategy We found the less education background 、the 20- 30 years group and 36-40years group were the most loading of career transition, The ccupation were laborer and business that most unsatisfied of career decision and career feedback, anxiety of career transition, uneasily the career transition knowledge. That need to concern and to develop suitable guidance strategy for them. 2.To explore the interaction relationship between individual counseling of solution focus for adult career transition by quality analysis of the counseling dialog .in the further study. 3.To established the standardized norm of A.C.T.Q. by collection sampling in the different occupation opulation.then modified the A.C.T.Q. by item analysis and computerize of the test sore accounting in the further study.

    No full text
"3D printing - or additive manufacturing - is a challenging dual-use technology: One and the same device can print toys or guns. The author explains the basics of the technology, describes its current applications, and provides an overview of its global diffusion. He shows the potential of this emerging technology and analyzes its possible risks with respect to the proliferation of small arms, major weapon systems, and even weapons of mass destruction. He investigates how 3D printing might pose serious challenges to national and international security. The author discusses first proposals of risk mitigation through safeguards, export controls, cyber security, awareness raising, and industry self-regulation." (author's abstract

Growth Rates and Explosions in Sandpiles

    No full text
We study the abelian sandpile growth model, where n particles are added at the origin on a stable background configuration in Zd . Any site with at least 2d particles then topples by sending one particle to each neighbor. We find that with constant background height h ? 2d ? 2, the diameter of the set of sites that topple has order n1/d. This was previously known only for h < d. Our proof uses a strong form of the least action principle for sandpiles, and a novel method of background modification. We can extend this diameter bound to certain backgrounds in which an arbitrarily high fraction of sites have height 2d ? 1. On the other hand, we show that if the background height 2d?2 is augmented by 1 at an arbitrarily small fraction of sites chosen independently at random, then adding finitely many particles creates an explosion (a sandpile that never stabilizes).Delft Institute of Applied MathematicsElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
