On stabilization of a class of nonlinear stochastic systems of neutral type
This paper deals with the feedback stabilization problem for a class of nonlinear neutral stochastic functional differential equations. The systems under consideration are nonlinear, nonaffine in control with discrete and distributed delays. They are described as Itô differential equations. We use a Razumikhin-type approach to establish sufficient conditions ensuring the stabilizability of the system and a class of stabilizing feedback is proposed

Nanostructured polyolefins/clay composites: role of the molecular interaction at the interface
The extent of interphase interactions between polymer phase and inorganic particles is the driving force addressing the preparation/properties design in the field of the corresponding micro- and nanocomposites. In the case of preparation of nartocomposites based on polyolefins (POs) and inorganic compounds as potentially nanodispersed phase, the use of a PO with proper functional groups is necessary for the interface adhesion and stabilization of the nanostructured morphology. According to this approach, ethylene/propylene copolymers with a different propylene content were used for the preparation of nanocomposites through melt mixing with organophilic montmorillonites (OMMT). By taking into account the important role of functionalities grafted onto POs, two different synthetic approaches were compared here: (1) the dispersion of the inorganic filler was obtained by using previously functionalized POs bearing carboxylate groups as matrices; (2) the nanocomposites were prepared by performing contemporaneously the functionalization of POs (by using maleic anhydride (MAH) and/or diethyl maleate (DEM)) and the dispersion of the filler in a one-step process. The morphology of the nanocomposites as well as the variation of solubility and glass transition temperature (T-g) of the PO matrix were evaluated and tentatively discussed with reference to functionalization degrees, structure of PO, and preparation procedure
Rheology of long-chain branched polypropylene copolymers
In this work, we provide more insight into the rheological properties of functionalized polypropylene copolymers with modified architectures, which originate long-chain branching. The evaluation of the average distance between branches and the fraction of long-chain branch points has been carried out quantitatively, by numerical fitting of experimental data according to a literature model, and the viscoelastic response of the samples has been analyzed in terms of a Carreau-Yasuda-like model and Cole-Cole plots. These analyses allowed us to discriminate the viscoelastic behavior of the samples on the basis of their feed composition. Moreover, we were able to highlight direct correlations between viscosity, long-chain branching level, distance between branching points and functionalization degrees of PP polymers. Diffusive author(s), cohesive author: Analysis of S/N (1994)
This study indicates the ways in which various aspects of the author(s) are brought forth in Dumb type’s performance art, the S/N production. Previous research has suggested a non-hierarchical organization of Dumb type and the absence of a “privileged author” in Dumb type’s collaborative work, S/N. However, the results that I have investigated from member’s interviews on the creative process of S/N along with my analysis of the recorded images of S/N, indicate a different aspect of the author(s). First, S/N was created through, so to speak, the collective ideas of the members of Dumb type. Further, S/N has at least nine quotations from previous performances, installations, and printed writings, besides the work-in-progress technique. Explicating one of the “author functions” as given by Michel Foucault, each text has plural subjects of the author. However, it has been revealed from members’ interviews that Teiji Furuhashi had a decision-making role in selecting the members’ ideas within the performance. Since then, S/N has had plural subjects of creation; however, Furuhashi is one of the subjects of creation along with the “privileged author.” S/N has plural authors (diffusive authors) yet at the same time, it has a “privileged author,” Teiji Furuhashi (cohesive author)
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

A molecular mechanism for choosing alcohol over an alternative reward
Alcohol addiction leads to increased choice of alcohol over healthy rewards. We established an exclusive choice procedure in which ~15% of outbred rats chose alcohol over a high-value reward. These animals displayed addiction-like traits, including high motivation to obtain alcohol and pursuit of this drug despite adverse consequences. Expression of the g-aminobutyric acid (GABA) transporter GAT-3 was selectively decreased within the amygdala of alcohol-choosing rats, whereas a knockdown of this transcript reversed choice preference of rats that originally chose a sweet solution over alcohol. GAT-3 expression was selectively decreased in the central amygdala of alcohol-dependent people compared to those who died of unrelated causes. Impaired GABA clearance within the amygdala contributes to alcohol addiction, appears to translate between species, and may offer targets for new pharmacotherapies for treating this disorder
