“What is the impact of utilizing so-called best practices in percutaneous coronary intervention?”: an interview with Atul Gupta
Atul Gupta, MD speaks to Adam Price-Evans, Managing Commissioning Editor of Future Cardiology. Atul Gupta is the Global Chief Medical Officer for the business group Image Guided Therapy at Philips, providing medical guidance to Philips’ clinical vision and strategy. As a practicing interventional and diagnostic radiologist, he also serves as a key external clinical voice for Image Guided Therapy. His key responsibilities include supporting innovation and product development in cardiology, peripheral vascular, surgical, oncology interventions, clinical education, office-based labs, medical affairs and new business development and ventures. He went to medical school and completed his postgraduate training in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in interventional radiology. He maintains a clinical practice, performing interventional and diagnostic radiology in both hospital and office-based lab settings. </jats:p

Solar and heliospheric sources of suprathermal and energetic particle populations
Objectives and some preliminary findings of an ongoing international team project carried out at ISSI, Bern will be presented. Suprathermal and energetic particle
s in interplanetary space have a multitude of origins,
i.e. acceleration and propagation hi stories. Solar flares, coronal mass ejections (CMEs), co-rotating interaction regions (CIRs), the heliospheric termination shock, planetary bow shocks and magnetospheres have all been recognized as energetic particle sources. Less energetic (suprathermal) particles of solar origin and pick-up ions have also a vital role both in their own right and as seeds of energetic particles accelerated in interplanetary disturbances. The relative contributions of various particle populations vary with energy and with the phase of the solar cycle. Particular attention will be given in our project to quiet periods and to large events. While quiet-time fluxes are expected to shed light on some
base-line features of coronal and interplanetary acceleration processes, relatively large events dominate bot
h the long-term fluence levels and the statistical properties of cumulative fluence plots. The importance of energetic and suprathermal particles that mostly cannot escape into interplanetary space, but contribute to co
ronal heating and possibly also to solar wind composition, will also be discussed.

NMR‐based clinical metabolomics revealed distinctive serum metabolic profiles in patients with spondyloarthritis
Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is an umbrella term for autoimmune rheumatic diseases that can affect the back, pelvis, neck and some larger joints, as well as internal organs, like the intestines and eyes. The most common of these diseases is ankylosing spondylitis (ASp) which predominantly affects the spine and sacroiliac joints causing characteristic inflammatory back pain (IBP) and severe spine stiffness. In addition, AsP may involve peripheral joints causing asymmetrical peripheral oligo-arthritis often associated with extra-articular symptoms such as acute anterior uveitis (iritis), psoriasis, enthesitis, dactylitis and chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). These clinical features adversely affect the quality of life in ASp patients owing to restricted spinal/hip mobility, pain, fatigue, disease flares and depression. The clinical management of SpA is marred by delay in diagnosis, and paucity of biomarkers of disease activity. The present study aimed to explore the potential of serum metabolic profiling of patients with SpA to identify biomarker for the diagnosis and assessment of disease activity. The serum metabolic profiles of 81 patients with SpA were compared with that of 86 healthy controls (HC) using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) based metabolomics approach. Seventeen patients were followed-up after 3 months of standard treatment and paired sera were analyzed for effects of therapy. Comparisons were done using the multivariate partial least-squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) and the discriminatory metabolic entities were identified based on variable importance in projection (VIP) statistics and further evaluated for statistical significance (p-value<0.05). We found that the serum metabolic profiles differed significantly in SpA as compared with healthy controls. Compared to HC, the SpA patients were characterized by increased serum levels of amino-acids, acetate, choline, N-acetyl glycoproteins, N-alpha-acetyllysine, creatine/creatinine etc. and decreased levels of low/very-low density lipoproteins, and poly-unsaturated lipids. PLS-DA analysis also revealed metabolic differences between axial and peripheral SpA patients. Further metabolite profiles were found to differ with disease activity and treatment in responding patients. The results presented in this study demonstrate the potential of serum metabolic profiling of SpA as a useful tool for diagnosis, prediction of peripheral disease, assessment of disease activity, and treatment response.The decreased circulatory levels of glutamine were found to be associated with SpA disease activity
Sustainability Oriented Yachting Enterprises: Theoretical Considerations and Empirical Evidence from Marche Region
In recent years the global economic crisis and the emergence of the paradigm of sustainability in the world of consumption also involves an industry apparently free from these dynamics such as yachting, changing the competitive environment.
Even Italian companies, leading manufacturers with creativity and technical skills, face new challenges on the one hand related to the supply system, which require significant technical innovations, and to the relationship with the customer, increasingly driven by issues of sustainability in consumption processes.
Describing the relationship between the yachting industry and sustainability, this paper attempts to answer the following research questions by analyzing a sample of 30 Italian companies:
- What is the role and the degree of awareness that these entrepreneurs show with respect to sustainability issues? (Cultural dimension)
- What sustainability policies they adopt? (Behavioral dimension)
- What is the impact of adopted sustainability policies adopted on strategic management?
Despite the limited number of firms included in our sample, this study shows the need for major steps toward a full awareness of entrepreneurs, and the need to grasp the opportunities related to the current changes in global demand of yachts
The Political Economy of India’s Fiscal Federal System and its Reform
This article examines recent and potential reforms in India’s fiscal federal system. We summarize key federal institutions in India, including tax and expenditure assignments, and mechanisms for Center-state transfers. We discuss the institutional process by which reforms can and do take place, including the role of academics, political influences, and especially institutions such as the Finance Commission. In contrast to the past, recent commissions have played a greater role in articulating an agenda for fiscal federal reform, which then proceeds through political bargaining. This change has taken place in the context of, and been influenced by, broader economic reform in India.intergovernmental transfers; economic reform; federalism; regional inequalities

Model data and post-processed data supporting the creation of the manuscript "Estimating the Meridional Extent of Adiabatic Mixing in the Stratosphere using Age-of-Air" submitted to JGR:Atmospheres in August 2022.
1) The netCDF files created through post-processing of full model data in FORTRAN are shared in the /data/ directory. These file contains the zonal mean circulation statistics based on Gupta et al. (2020), age-of-air transport diagnostics based on Linz et al. (2021), and the novel \Gamma-\Theta circulation streamfunction introduced in this study. The /data/ directory also contains MATLAB .mat data files for the transport diagnostics obtained from WACCM. 150 days of actual GFDL-FV3 model data in the northern hemisphere, between 0.1 hPa-500 hPa pressure levels is also provided to support external computations and validation.
2) The Jupyter notebook used for final computation and figures production is provided in .ipynb, .html and .pdf formats in /code/. All the files referred to in the notebook are stored in the /data/ directory.
