    Spectrum of trace deformed Yang-Mills theories

    In this paper we study, by means of numerical simulations, the behavior of the scalar glueball mass and the ground state of the torelon for trace deformed Yang-Mills theory defined on , in which center symmetry is recovered even at small compactification radii. We find, by investigating both and pure gauge theories, that the glueball mass computed in the deformed theory, when center symmetry is recovered, is compatible with its value at zero temperature and does not show any significant dependence on the compactification radius; moreover, we establish a connection between the deformation parameter and an effective compactification size, which works well at least for small deformations. In addition, we observe that the ground state of the torelon which winds around the small traced deformed circle with size acquires a plateau for large values of the strength , with values which are compatible with a behavior but, on the other hand, are still not in complete agreement with the asymptotic semiclassical large- predictions

    Talk presented at the the 39th International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory by Andreas Athenodorou, based on the "Survey on lattice data analysis, presentation, and curation practices", the results of which can be found in https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6980070 Abstract: Open science aims to make scientific research processes, tools and results accessible to all scientific communities, creating trust in science and enabling digital competences to be realized in research, leading to increased innovation. It provides standard and transparent pathways to conducting research and fosters best practices for collecting, analysing, preserving, sharing and reusing data, software, workflows and other outputs through collaborative networks. Open Science appears to becoming the norm with its applications spanning throughout the whole research cycle of a project. The importance of making Open Science a reality is reflected in the policy and implementation actions of the European Commission incorporated in research and innovation funding programmes (FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe) and the development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) as it improves the quality, efficiency and responsiveness of research. EOSC will enable researchers across disciplines and countries to store, curate and share data under a common policy framework with rules of participation and pre-defined set of technical specifications that are expected to help shape the “Internet of FAIR data and services” in Europe. In this talk we will present the basic Open Science principles explaining briefly best practices for materialising open science. Subsequently, we will present the results of the landscaping survey of Open Science in the Lattice Gauge Theories community (https://latticesurvey.hpcf.cyi.ac.cy/index.php/157898). Finally, we will provide directions in which the LGT community could move in order to enhance Openness and FAIRness (Finability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability) in Science

The first such assessment since 2005, it concludes that biodiversity and ecosystem loss has reached the point where it threatens human well-being.     Between 1917 and 1918, the Austro-Hungarian author Andreas Latzko (1876-1943) wrote three separate publications against the Great War: Menschen im Krieg (1917), Friedensgericht (1918), and Der letzte Mann (published 1919). Literary historians tend to bypass these works, and the few who note them chiefly focus on the best-selling novella cycle Menschen im Krieg (1917). It is usually presented as an example of expressionist political prose, or as a mixture of social satire and aesthetic shock-tactics that chiefly remains indebted to realist traditions, albeit with occasional incursions into expressionistic styles..

    We prove that for every n ∈ N n \in \mathbb {N} and δ &gt; 0 \delta &gt;0 there exists a word w n ∈ F 2 w_n \in F_2 of length O ( n 2 / 3 log ⁡ ( n ) 3 + δ ) O(n^{2/3} \log (n)^{3+\delta }) which is a law for every finite group of order at most n n . This improves upon the main result of Andreas Thom [Israel J. Math. 219 (2017), pp. 469–478] by the second named author. As an application we prove a new lower bound on the residual finiteness growth of non-abelian free groups. </p
