    The indirect effect of social responsibility standards on organizational performance in apparel supply chains: A developing country perspective

    Drawing from social exchange theory, this paper proposes and empirically examines organizational citizenship behavior as a possible mechanism to explain the association between suppliers’ socially responsible behavior and organizational performance. Data were collected from companies in the apparel supply chain in Pakistan, a developing country. Findings show that social responsibility standards have a positive impact on organizational citizenship behavior which in turn positively impacts operational and quality performance. Further, a mediation relationship is shown. This research informs practitioners that social responsibility initiatives instigate deep-rooted changes promoting social-friendly behaviors impacting firm performance.     Syed Suleman Nadvi was a renowned literary personality of the Subcontinent. He was a biographer, researcher, historian, letter writer, linguist, Muhaddith, critic and travelogue writer. Besides editing journals like Al-Hilal, Al-Nadva and Muraif, he penned a number of books on various topics. He travelled to Afghanistan along Allama Iqbal and Sir Raas Masod on the invitation of King of Afghanistan Nadir Shah. The basic purpose of the visit was consultation for establishing educational system in Afghanistan especially the University of Kabul. Resultantly, Sir Raas Masod wrote some essays on education while Allama Iqbal composed his famous mathnavi Musafir and Syed Suleman Nadvi came up with a travelogue under the title of Sair-e-Afghanistan.     Apartheid was a system of institutionalized racial segregation anddiscrimination that existed in South Africa from 1948 until the early 1990s.The system was based on white supremacy and the repression of the black majority for the benefit of the politically and economically dominant Afrikaner minority and other whites. Apartheid legislation itself was repealed in 1991 and a non-racial government was established following national elections in 1994. Benjamin Moloise was s South African poet, political activist and the follower of the then forbidden African National Congress. He was convicted to capital punishment by the apartheid regime of P.W. Botha, allegedly for murdering a policeman in 1982. He was hanged on 18 Oct 1985 at the Pretoria Central Prison despite world wide pleas for clemency. His execution by the apartheid regime led to international protests and street battles in South Africa

    The tradition of composing glorifying verses on the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has been very rich from the very time of his Holiness (PBUH). Following the Arabic tradition of Naat, poets of almost all important languages spoken by the Muslim have been writing Naat. Urdu language being no exception, is very fertile as regard to Naat writing. Abdul Aziz Khalid after the pioneers of Naat in Urdu-Ameer Minai, Muhsin Kakorvi and Haali-is considered one of the remarkable Naat writer. Khalid is well versed in many languages like Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu. He aptly employs his multilingual knowledge while composing Naat. He has six anthologies of Naat to his credit. This article studies Khalid's literary contribution particularly his Naat.
