SCIENTOMETRIC PORTRAIT OF DR. AMARTYA KUMAR SEN, THE NOBEL LAUREATE & BHARAT RATNA
The present study attempts to present the various attributes of research publications of Dr. Amartya Kumar Sen, the great Indian Economist, Noble Laureate and Bharat Ratna. The study is based on the publication data indexed in Scopus database during 1969 to 2015. A total numbers of 111 articles have been retrieved from the source database for the said period. During this long 47 publication years, Dr. A. K. Sen has published a total numbers of 111 publications with an average of 2-3 papers per year. He is the single dominant author in all his publications and preferred single author publications rather than collaborative publications. Out of his 111 publications, he has published only 1 publication with University of Delhi, India affiliation, however 53 publications with Harvard University, United States and 20 publications with Trinity College, Cambridge, United Kingdom. His publications are widely popular among the researchers, which shows that about 21(18.9%) papers are more than 100 times cited by the researchers and 2 papers are more than 300 times cited. Despite his core area of research in Economics, he has published in other applied areas of economics such as econometrics, finance, business, management, accounting, decision sciences, pharmacology, toxicology etc. In this study an attempt has been made to showcase the profile and publications of Dr. Amartya Kumar Sen as a Role Model for future researchers and academicians
Development and validation of india-specific hindi version of osteoporosis knowledge assessment tool
Purpose: Patient education is one of the important components of reducing the morbidity of osteoporosis. The aim of this study is to validate the Hindi version of the Osteoporosis Knowledge Assessment Tool (OKAT-H) among a hospital-based sample in the age group of 18–44 years of age. Methods: The study was conducted in two phases – translation and adaption of the OKAT in Hindi followed by its validation. The translated tool was analyzed by Flesch reading ease, McNemar test, Cronbach alpha, difficulty index, discrimination index, and principal factor analysis. Results: Two hundred and sixty women with a mean age of 28.3 ± 17.2 years were enrolled in the study. The mean score of the OKAT-H tool obtained in the study was 11.3 ± 2.1. A significant difference was noted in the scores based on educational qualification or with any family history of either osteoporosis or fracture (P < 0.05). The Flesch score for the OKAT-H tool was 86. Inter-item correlation for all the items ranged between 0.15 and 0.5. The Cronbach's alpha measured 0.892 suggesting high internal consistency. Items number 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, and 14 showed a significant difference on the McNemar test questioning its consistency on test-retest. Conclusion: A new shorter version of the tool may be developed since six items showed low consistency. The use of such an instrument in local language would help spread awareness about the disease as well as help the population in adopting osteoprotective strategies and also to seek help and advice regarding treatment
Five-Phase Induction Motor DTC-SVM Scheme with PI Controller and ANN Controller
AbstractThis paper analyze design of space vector modulation based direct torque controlled (DTC-SVM) five-phase induction motor incorporated with ANN controller and has given a comparison with PI controller. This ANN controller is employed to improve the control performance parameters such as reducing torque & flux ripple, reducing the settling and rise time compare to that of PI controller. The modelling and simulation is performed in MATLAB, it shows that with intelligent controlled the performance parameters have been improved and drive system could be operated at low speed. The proposed model is less complex, require a single ANN controller for decoupled flux and torque controlled

The present study intend to highlight the different approaches of Bibliometric study
such as distribution of publications by years, issues and volumes, identification of
authorship pattern, degree of collaboration among authors, recognizing most
productive authors, geographical visibility of the journal, top cited papers, citation and
paging pattern of the publications etc. of the journal "International Information and
Library Review" during the period 2009 to 2013. The study has revealed a decreasing
trend of indexing of publications of the source journal in Scopus database. Research
collaboration among authors in the journal is less visible. Single authorship pattern is
predominant with 78(55.3%) publications. Carbo, T. was identified as most successful
author with 8 numbers of contribution and United States of America was the most
contributing country with 28(19.8%) publications

Beyond the synthetic drugs: Fungal endophytes derived bioactive compounds in the management of neurodegenerative disorders
Fungal endophytes are a group of fungi that reside in plant tissues and show a symbiotic relationship with the host plants. They protect against pathogens and increase food availability without causing any harmful effects on the host plant. Fungal endophytes are known to produce a wide range of bioactive compounds with several biological activities, including neuroprotective effects. Neurodegenerative disorders lead to miscommunication between nerve cells, damage or loss in structure and function of the central nervous system (CNS) or peripheral nervous system (PNS). Reactive oxygen species, neuroinflammation, protein degradation or aggregation, familial history, mutation in mitochondrial genes, and aging contribute to neurodegenerative disorders. Plant-associated fungal endophytes produce bioactive compounds, which show anti-neuroinflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cholinesterase activities. Several pro-inflammatory (TNF-α and NF-κB) and depressant (serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline) molecules or neuronal signaling pathways leading to neurodegenerative disorders are known to be inhibited or down-regulated by fungal endophyte-derived bioactive compounds. Therefore, bioactive compounds produced from fungal endophytes could be a promising approach to treating various health ailments. The present chapter discusses selected fungal endophyte-derived potential bioactive compounds with neuroprotective effects for managing neurodegenerative disorders
