Low Complexity, High Quality Digital Architectures for H.264/AVC and HEVC Applications
No full textH.264/AVC is currently the most commonly utilized video coding format because of its high coding efficiency compared to its predecessors. Video coding is achieved by exploiting temporal and spatial redundancies and Motion Estimation (ME) is one of the main tools employed for eliminating temporal redundancies. It is the most critical and time consuming tool in the whole encoder and typically requires 60-80% of the total computational time during the encoding process. One of the major work in this thesis is focused on implementation of low complexity block matching fast search motion estimation accelerators on different platforms, i.e. FPGA/ASIC and on GPU, done by our collaborative group. Similarly, the ASIC implemen- tation for motion estimation of Multi-View Coding (MVC) extension of H.264 is also the part of thesis. HEVC, the brand-new video coding standard addresses high efficient video coding. One of the tools employed to improve coding efficiency is the Discrete-Time Cosine Transform (DCT) with different transform sizes. In video compression, the DCT is widely used because it compacts the image energy at the low frequencies, making easy to discard the high frequency components. Many Pakistani short story writers has started their career as “Afsana Nigar” before the Pakistan came into being. After the partition of Hindustan, people were so much depressed and scattered in both sides of boarder. At that time, in Pakistan, many writers created some characters showing love and affection to console the Pakistanis in their hardest time of life. Ashfaq Ahmad, a renowned fiction and non-fiction writer of Urdu literature, is one of them. He has a mystical nature in his concepts of love. Ashfaq Ahmed has multidimensional aspects in his personality as an author. He was a short story writer, columnist, playwright, a translator, poet and played a famous character of Talqeen Shah in Radio drama. No full textThis paper deals with the elements of conflicts between eastern and western culture and civilization in dramas of prominent playwright Ashfaq Ahmad. Ashfaq Ahmad is an all-round (multi-dimensional) personality of Urdu literature, who made his unique identity as a story writer as well. He was also a columnist, writer, editor and playwright. He made an exceptional place by the name of “Talqeen Shah” broadcasted from radio Pakistan. He is one of early playwrights of Pakistan Television. In his plays, he has described the confusions and complexities arising from social problems. (He informs about the external and internal conditions of man). (or) He reflects over subjective and objective aspects of society including inner and outer conditions of man through his writings. It has been discussed that he has shown elements of Pakistani culture in his Dramas. He loves eastern civilization. That is why, because he realized that western civilization has in slaved our new generation. To him even today, our new generation is under its influence. Somewhere in writings of Ashfaq Ahmad, the negative aspects can be seen that lead to conflict. The elements of confliction in eastern and western civilizations are shown in the plays of Ashfaq Ahmad.
