Prospects for discovering the Higgs-like pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of the classical scale symmetry
We examine the impact of the expected reach of the LHC and the XENONIT experiments on the parameter space of the minimal classically scale invariant extension of the standard model (SM), where all the mass scales are induced dynamically by means of the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism. In this framework, the SM content is enlarged by the addition of one complex gauge-singlet scalar with a scale invariant and CP-symmetric potential. The massive pseudoscalar component, protected by the CP symmetry, forms a viable dark matter candidate, and three flavors of the right-handed Majorana neutrinos are included to account for the nonzero masses of the SM neutrinos via the seesaw mechanism. The projected constraints on the parameter space arise by applying the ATLAS heavy Higgs discovery prospects, with an integrated luminosity of 300 and 3000 fb(-1) at root s = 14 TeV, to the pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of the (approximate) scale symmetry, as well as by utilizing the expected reach of the XENONIT direct detection experiment for the discovery of the pseudoscalar dark matter candidate. A null-signal discovery by these future experiments implies that vast regions of the model's parameter space can be thoroughly explored; the combined projections are expected to confine a mixing between the SM and the singlet sector to very small values while probing the viability of the TeV scale pseudoscalar's thermal relic abundance as the dominant dark matter component in the Universe. Furthermore, the vacuum stability and triviality requirements of the framework up to the Planck scale are studied, and the viable region of the parameter space is identified. The results are summarized in extensive exclusion plots, incorporating additionally the prior theoretical and experimental bounds for comparison.10911Nsciescopu

Higgs partner searches and dark matter phynomenology in a classically scale invariant Higgs boson sector
In a previous work, a classically scale invariant extension of the standard model was proposed, as
a potential candidate for resolving the hierarchy problem, by minimally introducing a complex gauge
singlet scalar and generating radiative electroweak symmetry breaking by means of the Coleman-
Weinberg mechanism. Postulating the singlet sector to respect the CP symmetry, the existence of a
stable pseudoscalar dark matter candidate with a mass in the TeV range was demonstrated.
Moreover, the model predicted the presence of another physical CP-even Higgs boson (with
suppressed tree-level couplings), in addition to the 125 GeV scalar discovered by the LHC. The
viable region of the parameter space was determined by various theoretical and experimental
considerations. In this work, we continue to examine the phenomenological implications of the
proposed minimal scenario by considering the constraints from the dark matter relic density, as
determined by the Planck Collaboration, as well as the direct detection bounds from the LUX
experiment. Furthermore, we investigate the implications of the collider Higgs searches for the
additional Higgs boson. Our results are comprehensively demonstrated in unified exclusion plots,
which analyze the viable region of the parameter space from all relevant angles, demonstrating the
testability of the proposed scenario.322911Nsciescopu
Classically scale invariant inflation, supermassive WIMPs, and adimensional gravity
We introduce a minimal and yet comprehensive framework with CP and classical scale symmetries in order to simultaneously address the hierarchy problem, neutrino masses, dark matter, and inflation. One complex gauge singlet scalar and three flavors of the right-handed Majorana neutrinos are added to the standard model content, facilitating the see-saw mechanism, among others. An adimensional theory of gravity (Agravity) is employed, allowing for the trans-Planckian field excursions. The weak and Planck scales are induced by the Higgs portal and the scalar nonminimal couplings, respectively, once a Coleman-Weinberg dynamically generated vacuum expectation value for the singlet scalar is obtained. All scales are free from any mutual quadratic destabilization. The CP symmetry prevents a decay of the pseudoscalar singlet, rendering it a suitable WIMPzilla dark matter candidate with the correct observational relic abundance. Identifying the pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of the (approximate) scale symmetry with the inflaton field, the model accommodates successful slow-roll inflation, compatible with the observational data. We reach the conclusion that a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone inflaton, within a classically scale-symmetric framework, yields lighter WIMPzillas. © 2016 American Physical Society131111Nsciescopu
Strongly first-order electroweak phase transition and classical scale invariance
In this work, we examine the possibility of realizing a strongly rst-order electroweak phase transi-
tion within the minimal classically scale invariant extension of the standard model (SM), previously
proposed and analyzed as a potential solution to the hierarchy problem. By introducing one com-
plex gauge-singlet scalar and three (weak scale) right-handed Majorana neutrinos, the scenario was
successfully capable of achieving a radiative breaking of the electroweak symmetry (by means of
the Coleman-Weinberg Mechanism), inducing non-zero masses for the SM neutrinos (via the seesaw
mechanism), presenting a pseudoscalar dark matter candidate (protected by the CP symmetry of
the potential), and predicting the existence of a second CP-even boson (with suppressed couplings
to the SM content) in addition to the 125 GeV scalar. In the present treatment, we construct the
full nite-temperature one-loop eective potential of the model, including the resummed thermal
daisy loops, and demonstrate that nite-temperature eects induce a rst-order electroweak phase
transition. Requiring the thermally-driven rst-order phase transition to be suciently strong at
the onset of the bubble nucleation (corresponding to nucleation temperatures TN 100-200 GeV)
further constrains the model's parameter space; in particular, an O(0:01) fraction of the dark matter
in the universe may be simultaneously accommodated with a strongly rst-order electroweak phase
transition. Moreover, such a phase transition disfavors right-handed Majorana neutrino masses
above several hundreds of GeV, connes the pseudoscalar dark matter masses to 1-2 TeV, pre-
dicts the mass of the second CP-even scalar to be 100-300 GeV, and requires the mixing angle
between the CP-even components of the SM doublet and the complex singlet to lie within the range
0:2 . sin ! . 0:4. The obtained results are displayed in comprehensive exclusion plots, identifying
the viable regions of the parameter space. Many of these predictions lie within the reach of the next
