    Abstract It was recently suggested that the Sun could switch to a high‐activity regime which would lead to a rise of ultraviolet radiation with an amplitude of about four times larger than the amplitude of an average solar activity cycle and a simultaneous drop in total solar irradiance. Here, we applied the SOCOLv3‐MPIOM model with an interacting ocean to simulate the response of chemistry, dynamics, and temperature of Earth's atmosphere to such a change in solar irradiance. We studied the effect of high activity regime on the atmosphere investigating the influence of the chemical and radiative processes on the climate, and chemistry of NO x, HO x, and O 3 . We find a climate cooling by up to 1K and a substantial increase in stratospheric ozone (up to 14%) and total ozone (up to 8%). To understand the role of the different processes we performed simulations with two sets of forcing accounting separately for the influence on chemical processes and for direct radiation energy balance. Our calculations show that the stratospheric O 3 response is almost fully driven by the chemical processes. We also found that the direct radiation processes lead to near‐surface cooling that results in the suppression of the Brewer‐Dobson circulation. This, in turn, leads to the reduction of H 2 O influx from the low layers of the troposphere and to less intensive transport of ozone from the tropics to the middle latitudes.     The impact of a potential future grand solar minimum on biological health effects : erythema, DNA damage and vitamin D production

    Ultraviolet radiation (UVR) emitted by the Sun causes both beneficial and harmful biological responses in humans that are essential for skin and musculoskeletal health. Solar UVR also regulates stratospheric ozone production, which in turn limits UVR transfer to the Earth’s surface. This thesis aims to improve the understanding of the relationship between solar activity and biological responses by investigating the impact of a potential 21st century grand solar minimum on three biological health effects: erythema, DNA damage, and vitamin D production. Using the libRadtran radiative transfer model, solar radiation levels at Earth’s surface are computed for five distinct levels of solar activity to predict erythemal, DNA damage, and vitamin D radiation doses between 2100 and 2199. This process requires weighting the relevant wavelength bands with their respective action spectra. In relation to the reference scenario of continued prevalent solar activity, a decline of 3.5 or 6.5 Wm-2 is found to result in respective relative index increases of 0.72% or 1.18% for erythema, 2.73% or 4.85% for DNA damage, and 1.03% or 1.73% for vitamin D production. Regional differences are also shown to be significant. The greatest relative changes are expected in the midlatitudes: up to 2.12% for erythema, 6.90% for DNA damage, and 3.44% for vitamin D production. Additionally, the northern hemisphere is found to be more affected than the southern hemisphere, displaying 0.45% higher intensity for erythema, 0.98% for DNA damage, and 0.44% for vitamin D production. These findings corroborate expectations derived from future ozone-column simulations. The results also carry important implications for future health protection efforts should a grand solar minimum occur. Education-based measures could prove effective if adapted adequately. However, individual factors play a major role in UV-induced health effects, and thus predictions about overall future impacts on public health remain challenging. Nonetheless, the evidence underscores that efforts to implement effective health protection measures need to be enhanced in a potential GSMi-future given the straightforward and practical prevention strategies available. This is especially true for the northern midlatitudes, where the general population is most at risk and greatest changes would occur

It addresses his role in the development of good relations between Serbia and Great Britain between the two world wars.     У раду се анализирају студије Павла Поповића у којима се бавио компаратистичким истраживањем француско–дубровачких књижевних веза, као и указивањем на нека места у Поповићевом опусу где је, такође, дао податке о француском културном и књижевном утицају на књижевност старога Дубровника.In very rich Raguseological opus of Pavle Popović, significant part belongs to comparatistic research. He was conducting them with the aim to determine templates or models for works of Ragusan writers, thus setting the foundation for more objective critical evaluation of those works and their authors, but also of the literature of old Dubrovnik as a whole. In his comparative approach to Ragusan literature, Pavle Popović wanted to show that some of the highest values of the European literary tradition were built in its corps. In this comparatistic effort, Pavle Popović seldom – only in few occasions – studied French-Ragusan literary and cultural connections and influences. At the very beginning of his work on literary-historic research of Ragusan literature, in 1904, Pavle Popović set out to observe Držić’s comedies in Molierean key (Marin Držić and Moliere). Popović made his comparative analysis in order to prove value of Držić’s comedies! Namely, he wanted to draw attention to cultural importance of Držić’s leaning on classical sources, because it is a fact that even in small Dubrovnik, and not only in great France, there was spiritual atmosphere which enabled a writer to reach high levels when it comes to choice of his sources. Six years after this study, Pavle Popović took to finding source of Ragusan farce from 1792, known under the name Pokrinokat. First he provided content of the French original, and then gave data about many versions of this very popular farce, and about its French, but also about its Latin, German and Italian adaptations. Then, using proven methodological procedure, after huge preparation work which included comparison of Ragusan adaptation with numerous versions of the source, Popović undoubtedly determined that Pokrinokat was an adaptation of Lawyer Patlen version from 1700 (played for the first time in 1706), written by David-Augustin de Brueys. Five years later, Popović published this study in France, in somewhat shorter form. It appeared in the most difficult days for Serbian people in World War I, in late autumn of 1915, when Government, Parliament and army, with part of the population, left for refuge which will take them across Albanian mountains to Corfu and Thessaloniki. Popović’s intention with this article was to show the French, most loyal Serbian allies, the historical roots and strength of French-Serbian literary and cultural relations, and their reflection in the tiny Republic of Ragusa which – as can be seen from the title of Popović’s article – was supposed to be a point of juncture of Serbian and Croatian culture. Successfully applied comparatistic method enabled Pavle Popović to be sure of his critical evaluations of Ragusan literature, which is confirmed by his evaluation of drama works of Nikola Nalješković. Until Popović, Nalješković’s farces were being mainly underestimated, and their author was viewed as not too talented predecessor of Marin Držić. Only in the first farce, the so-called Comedy V, attention was paid to echoes of daily life in the 16th century Dubrovnik, while the third farce, Comedy VII, was viewed as Nalješković’s unsuccessful attempt to write a “real” erudite comedy. Especially underestimated was Nalješković’s second farce, the so-called Comedy VI. And it was exactly Pavle Popović who, thanks to his knowledge of tradition of farce which he demonstrated in his study on Ragusan adaptation of Lawyer Patlen, drew attention to this Nalješković’s farce, writing about Nalješković’s drama works in his Overview of Serbian Literature.Научни скупови / Српска академија наука и уметности ; књ. 178.     „Pavle Katić je tih čovek, nenametljiv. Takva je i ova knjiga, koja, kako kaže sam autor, donosi samo 'crtice' iz njegovog burnog života. Ipak, ona za nas predstavlja važno svedočanstvo iz perioda Drugog svetskog rata i posveta je jednoj generaciji koja je sanjala bolji i slobodniji svet i za njega bila spremna da istrpi mučenja, zatvore i logore da se izdigne iz nametnutih okolnosti i bori za svoje ideale“…Pavle Katić je rođen 1925. u Novom Sadu, u jevrejskoj porodici, od oca Henrika, željezničkog radnika i majke Henriete. Sa roditeljima, bakom, braćom i sestrom vodio je relativno normalan život u Mađarskoj ulici broj 5. Pohađao je Srednju tehničku školu, bavio se sportom, učestvovao u radu novosadskih jevrejskih udruženja, odlazio na Štrand, izučavao fotografiju i sa majkom svirao klavir. A onda je došao fašizam. Već krajem 1940. isključen je iz škole zbog usvajanja 'numerus clausus-a', ali i zbog učešća u čuvenom školskom štrajku, koji su organizovali mladi revolucionari i buduće legende vojvođanskog Narodnooslobodilačkog pokreta Boško Palkovljević Pinki i Milan Kom. Par meseci kasnije, Treći rajh i njegovi sateliti okupiraju neposlušnu Kraljevinu Jugoslaviju, a bačku teritoriju anektira Hortijeva Mađarska. Od tog trenutka položaj jugoslovenskih Jevreja se značajno pogoršava, a na prostoru Bačke izložen je i diskriminatorskim pritiscima reakcionarnih, nacionalističkih, a delom i antisemitskih mađarskih vlasti. Četiri teške godine okupacije većina ukućana sa adrese Mađarska br. 51 neće preživeti. Stradaće u Novosadskoj raciji i na prinudnom radu u rovovima Istočnog fronta. Osim najstarijeg brata Bele, koji će preminuti posle rata od posledica tuberkoloze zadobijene u nacističkom logoru Mauthauzen, od porodice Katić jedini će starost doživeti Pavle i brat Aleksandar, obojica aktivni članovi novosadskog SKOJ-a. Jeziv je apsurd da ih je od sigurne smrti spasilo to što su kao aktivisti revolucionarnog i antifašističkog pokreta uhapšeni već u prvoj godini okupacije i veći deo rata proveli po mađarskim zatvorima. Od strane vlasti prepoznati kao politički zatvorenici, izbegli su sudbinu većine novosadskih Jevreja koji su, zbog svoje verske pripadnosti, stradali u raciji, na prinudnom radu ili u koncentracionim logorima u koje su bili deportovani aprila 1944. Kao borci i antifašisti imali su barem nekakvu šansu - kao Jevrejima kraj im je bio gotovo izvestan…"Pavle Katić is a quiet, unassuming man. This is also the case with this book, which, as the author says, only brings 'sketches' from his turbulent life.     У раду је представљен целокупни књижевни опус заборављеног писца Павла Марковића Адамова, једног од зачетника српске реалистичке приповетке и оснивача и првог уредника Бранковог кола – листа за забаву, поуку и књижевност, у циљу превредновања његовог књижевног дела, како би Адамов, коначно, добио место које му припада у историји српске књижевности.U radu je predstavljen celokupni književni opus zaboravljenog pisca Pavla Markovića Adamova, jednog od začetnika srpske realističke pripovetke i osnivača i prvog urednika Brankovog kola – lista za zabavu, pouku i književnost, u cilju prevrednovanja njegovog književnog dela, kako bi Adamov, konačno, dobio mesto koje mu pripada u istoriji srpske književnosti.The thesis represents the complete literary corpus of the forgotten author Pavle Marković Adamov, one of the pioneers of the Serbian realism short stories and the founder and first editor of ᾽Brankovo kolo᾿ - a paper for fun, learning and literature. The aim of the thesis is to bring his literary works back to light and give them proper appreciation, so that Adamov will finally be given the spot that he deserves in the history of Serbian literature

    У овом раду аутор представља своје резултате у истраживању доприноса Павла Поповића проучавању старих српских биографија. Он хронолошки прати и анализира Поповићеве студије и радове у којима је реч о српским биографима и њиховим делима. Посебно се задржава на Преgлеɡу сtаре књижевносtи (објављен у „Српском књижевном гласнику“ 1907), где Поповић, по први пут целовито, приказује основне карактеристике жанра, представља њему познате писце који су у његовим оквирима стварали и сама дела. Овај преглед, допуњен и с новом систематизацијом писаца, недуго затим улази у састав Поповићеве књиге Преgлеɡ срpске књижевносtи (штампана 1909). Аутор рада настојао је да установи интервенције (измене, допуне), али и да у целини сагледа значај новога текста, који ће потом, деценијама, бити главни извор сазнања о српској биографици. Аутор у раду представља и позније Поповићеве радове. Указује да се он изнова враћао на старе српске биографије. Био је спреман да о њима још документованије и научнички зрелије говори у својој књизи Исtорија јуgословенске књижевносtи, коју је припремао, али је није довршио; о томе сведоче неколики сачувани фрагменти из ње. Аутор закључује да се Павле Поповић истрајно и темељно бавио старим српским биографијама. Врло рано је остварио лични приступ и засновао сопствени метод проучавања и критеријуме за естетско вредновање дела.The author of this paper has researched the contribution of the wellknown Serbian literary historian Pavle Popović to the study of old Serbian biographies. In this paper, it is pointed out that Popović’s first papers dedicated to old Serbian biographies were written in the final decade of the 19th century and at the very beginning of the 20th century. They were published in periodicals of that time (Srpski pregled [Serbian Review], Nastavnik [Teacher] and others). Popović dealt with archaeographic and textological issues, investigated sources and especially focused on St Sava and Teodosije. Ljiljana Juhas-Georgievska established that Pavle Popović first wrote about old Serbian biographies in a detailed manner in his An Overview of Old Serbian Literature, published in Srpski književni glasnik [Serbian Literary Herald] in 1907. In this paper, he presented the basic characteristics of the genre, wrote about the authors known to him who belonged to this genre and their works. He adhered to the chronological principle. This Overview, somewhat expanded, was subsequently included in Popović’s book An Overview of Old Serbian Literature (published in 1909). Taking over the earlier text, Popović expanded it by adding new information. He added new writers to the list (he wrote about Patriarch Pajsije). He presented the opuses of Danilo the Second and his Disciple in a more detailed manner. The author of this paper points out that, later on in his studies, Popović returned to old Serbian biographies. That he was prepared to write about them in a more documented and scientifically mature manner in his book A History of Yugoslav Literature (he worked on it towards the end of his life but did not get to finish it), is testified to by the preserved fragments of the book. One of them, in which he analysed the work of Gregory Tsamblak, Constantine the Philosopher and Patriarch Pajsije, is presented by Lj. Juhas Georgievska in this paper. In it, Popović dealt with the poetics of these authors in a much more detailed manner, shedding light on the circumstances and the atmosphere in which their works were created. It is concluded in this paper that Pavle Popović perseveringly and in a detailed manner dealt with old Serbian biographies. Very early on, he established his personal approach and his own method of scientific investigation. Owing to his developed feeling for aesthetics, criteria and great erudition, he could successfully analyse the most complex and demanding works. Returning to certain authors and their biographical works was very fruitful for Popović’s scientific work.
