No full textLiszt pubblica nel 1858, per i tipi di Schott, la Deuxième Année: Italie delle Années de pèlerinage, il suo più vasto ciclo di brani caratteristici per pianoforte. Il settimo e ultimo brano del ciclo è la «fantasia quasi sonata» Après une lecture du Dante. Le prime versioni della composizione risalgono tuttavia a vent’anni prima, quando Liszt si trovava in Italia in compagnia della contessa Marie d’Agoult. Il saggio ripercorre dapprima le vicende legate alla lunga e variopinta genesi della composizione, indi ne da una descrizione analitica che cerchi da una parte di evitare la ricerca puntuale di legami con la Commedia dantesca, modello letterario evocato dal compositore, dall'altra di forzare una sua interpretazione strutturale come forma-sonata

Di fatto, nonostante alcuni degli autori e delle autrici che presentiamo abbiano assunto un ruolo quasi eroico nella rappresentazione della teoria queer, e nonostante i testi che presentiamo siano, ciascuno a suo modo, testi-chiave, sappiamo con certezza che questa è la nostra selezione e che ciò ha aggiunto un portato performativo al contenuto espressivo dei testi. Sappiamo che questo effetto è coestensivo a qualunque operazione di reiterazione, e dunque anche a quella forma particolare di reiterazione che va sotto il nome di traduzione culturale

No full textThis book offers a comprehensive philosophical investigation of ignorance. Using a set of cognitive tools and models, it discusses features that can describe a state of ignorance if linked to a particular type of cognition affecting the agent’s social behavior, belief system, and inferential capacity. The author defines ignorance as a cognitive condition that can be either passively (and unconsciously) borne by an agent or actively nurtured by him or her, and a condition that entails epistemic limitations (which can be any lack of knowledge, belief, information or data) that affect the agent’s behavior, belief system, and inferential capacity.
The author subsequently describes the ephemeral nature of ignorance, its tenacity in the development of human inferential and cognitive performance, and the possibility of sharing ignorance among human agents within the social dimension. By combining previous frameworks such as the naturalization of logic, the eco-cognitive perspective in philosophy and concepts from Peircean epistemology, and adding original ideas derived from the author’s own research and reflections, the book develops a new cognitive framework to help understand the nature of ignorance and its influence on the human condition

Le due versioni del Finale II nell’«Elisa ou Le voyage aux glaciers du Mont (St.) Bernard»
No full textThe aim of this contribution is to present the principal differences between the autograph score and the printed version of Luigi Cherubini’s opéra-comique Elisa ou Le voyage aux glaciers du Mont (St.) Bernard. First performed in 1794, this opera staged a common love story situated in an unusual context: the alpine landscape, with a strong visual and emotional impact. The protagonist, the landscape painter Florindo, travels to Mont St. Bernard to forget his beloved Elisa, who pursues him and saves him from suicide. When Elisa finally finds her beloved, an avalanche sweeps him away. The friars manage to dig him out and the story concludes happily.
Among the differences between the two versions, the most relevant is in the Finale of second act, in which the avalanche and Florindo’s rescue are staged. The printed score (without dating) presents an abridged version: the avalanche scene (first part of the Finale II) is the same as in the autograph but the rescue scene (second part) amounts only of 161 measures in print, against the 438 measures of the autograph. Moreover, the printed version is more regular in form; by the contrary, the autograph version presents an unusual free articulation that follows the action systematically. Its result is that in the printed and definitive version the Finale II is musically and dramaturgically less interesting; a possible explanation is the employment of the score in secondary theaters, which could not afford too elaborated productions
