    A Wilmington native, Grenoldo Frazier was born on April 2, 1953, at Community Hospital. From a young age, he became interested in music--even as young as seven months. He would touch the slats on a chair, just like one would press the key of a piano, and hum to himself. Frazier attended New Hanover High School and UNC Chapel Hill, eventually leaving to audition for theater in Washington and New York. After moving to New York, he performed in many productions, both off and on Broadway, for instance Hello Dolly. Here, he talks extensively about composing music for Mama, I Want to Sing and directing such shows as Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope. Frazier has since returned to the Wilmington area and continues to sing and play piano

He talks about his past, and what led him to start this project. He also talks about his thoughts about Cleveland as it is now, issues regarding race, and trying to change common misperceptions about the Hough neighborhood. The main goal of the project is to try to create jobs for people in the area, do something that will help the environment, and try to get more people to rethink their ideas about what the Hough neighborhood is really like. Also discussed is the overall plan and goals of the project

    E. Franklin Frazier was a sociologist, educator, author, lecturer, and head of the Department of Sociology at Howard University from 1934-1959. The papers, which consist of personal and family materials, correspondence, subject files, writings by Frazier and others, research projects and notebooks, photographs, memorabilia, awards, certificates, and scrapbooks, were donated by his wife, Marie Brown Frazier, in 1977. The materials span the years 1908-1962 and total 75 linear feet
