Student project allocation using integer programming
The allocation of projects to students is a generic problem in many universities within the U.K. and elsewhere, not only in engineering but also in various other disciplines. This paper defines the student project allocation problem explicitly by an objective function and a number of constraints. Two integer program models are presented, the first of which is a dynamic program. A general purpose solver is used to solve the models, and the input files are included in the Appendix. The models are computationally efficient and easily solved on a PC. Important issues in interpreting the model outputs are highlighted. As with any optimization problem it is possible for constraints to be too tight to permit any feasible solution. Application of the models is demonstrated by using data from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Southampton, for the academic year 2001-2002. The model has been used successfully to allocate Individual Project and Group Project to students and is likely to become the defacto method of allocation of projects in the future. This paper demonstrates how operations research techniques used widely in optimizing use of resources can be applied in education

Penguatan Sikap Teladan R.A. Kartini terhadap Mahasiswa Berdasar pada Hasil Desiminasi Bincang Inspiratif Wanita Hebat Mathla'ul Anwar
STRENGTHENING THE EXAMPLE OF R.A. KARTINI TOWARDS STUDENTS BASED ON THE RESULTS OF THE DISSEMINATION OF GREAT WOMEN INSPIRATIONAL TALKS MATHLA'UL ANWAR. This community service activity aims to provide empowerment to Mathla'ul Anwar University students based on the results of the dissemination of the Mathla'ul Anwar Inspirational Talk activity for Great Women. This activity was held to coincide on April 21, 2021 with the target of students residing in the Mathla'ul Anwar University environment from various majors or study programs. The holding of the Mathla'ul Anwar Inspirational Talk event was a form of appreciation for the role and struggle of Raden Ajeng Kartini in advancing the nation, especially for women whose roles were still limited at that time. By raising the theme of strengthening R.A Kartini's exemplary attitude, it is hoped that R.A Kartini's exemplary attitudes and traits can be transmitted to Indonesian women, especially women in Mathla'ul Anwar University. Through his fighting spirit and attitude, the figure of R.A Kartini can be an inspiration and able to awaken the younger generation to join the spirit and become a creative person

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING TEAM WORD-WEBBING TOWARD STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION IN NEWS ITEM TEXT AT THE TENTH GRADE OF MA TERPADU AL-ANWAR TRENGGALEK IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2017/2018
ABSTRACT
Saiful Anwar. Student Registered Number. 2813133104. 2017.The Effectiveness
Of Using Team Word-Webbing Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension
In News Item Text At The Tenth Grade Of MA Terpadu Al-Anwar
Trenggalek In The Academic Year Of 2017/2018. Thesis. English
Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic
Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Emmi Naja, M.Pd
Keywords: effectiveness, teaching reading comprehension, team word-webbing.
In learning reading comprehension the students at MA Terpadu Al-Anwar
Trenggalek get difficulties in comprehending the text, because they has dificult
reading and the teacher still uses conventional teaching techniques to teach
reading which it make the students difficult in comprehending a text and answer
the question based on the text. Teaching reading comprehension can be taught by
using Team Word-Webbing which is considered appropriate to increase the
students reading comprehension. Therefore, the researcher is interested in finding
out the effect of Team Word-Webbing in teaching reading comprehension for the
tenth grade students at MA Terpadu Al-Anwar Trenggalek in academic year
2017/2018. Thus, the research aim at knowing whether Team Word-Webbing is
effective to increase the students’ reading comprehension.
The research method used in this research is pre-experimental research
design with the population students of the tenth grade at MA Terpadu Al-Anwar
Trenggalekthat consist of six classes (250 students). The sample of this research is
class of X IPS2 consist of 37 students that are selected by means non probability
sampling. Meanwhile, the instrument is test which is used to conduct pre-test and
post-test. The data collected through pre-test and post-test were analyze by using
Paired Samples T test with SPSS Windows 16.0.
This study reveals that there are two important points: 1) The students’
mean in teaching reading comprehension before being taught by using Team
Word-webbing is 61.76 and after being taught by using Team Word-webbing is
83.65. So that the difference is 21.89. 2) In addition with T test analysis that used
by researcher, the result of significant value is 0.000 with the significant level is
0.05 and the result of tcount is 14.792. It presents that the difference value
between tcount and ttable is 13.102. The above mention different mean and value
indicated that Team Word-Webbing is strongly effective in teaching reading
comprehension to increase reading comprehension. It is able to be pedagogically
implemented in teaching reading comprehension of tenth grade students at MA
Terpadu Al-Anwar Trenggalek. This research only used one group pre-test and
post-test it is suggested to conduct the same study by using true-experimental or
quasi experimental
The construction of Karen Karnak: The multi-author-function
This thesis is situated within the comparatively recent developments of Web 2.0 and the emergence of interactive WikiMedia, and explores the mode of authorship within a Read/Write culture compared to that of a Read/Only tradition. The hypothesis of this study is that the role of the audience has become merged with the author, and as such, represents new functions and attributes, distinct from a more conventional concept of authorship, in which the roles of audience and author are more separate. Read/Write and participatory culture, as defined by this study, is focused on collaboration, and includes the influences of D.I.Y. culture, Open-Source practices and the production of text by multiple authors. Multi-authorship presents a re-thinking of several concepts which support the notion of the individual author, since the focus of multi-authorship is not on attribution and ownership of a finished text, but on the continued malleability of a text. Modes of multi-authorship, demonstrated in the use of the pseudonyms Alan Smithee and Karen Eliot, represent declarative authors whose names signify multiple origins, whilst concurrently indicating a distinct body of work. The function of these names form an important context to this study, since primary research involves the construction of an experimental mode of multi-authorship utilising WikiMedia technology and the interaction of thirty nine participants, who are invited to create a body of work under the collective pseudonym Karen Karnak. The data generated by this experiment is analysed using aspects of Michel Foucault's author-function to identify and determine power structures inherent in the WikiMedia context. The interplay of power structures, including concepts such as identity, ownership and the body of work, affect the resulting mode of authorship and contribute to the construction of Karen Karnak, suggesting further areas of research into the emerging multi-author
