Investigation on stacked cascade multilevel inverter by employing single-phase transformers

    No full text
In the present paper a new version of multilevel inverter is investigated. This new version is based on hybrid association of commutation cells with H-bridge cells. The association allows a significant reduction of the volume of the capacitors. In fact, presented topology allows us to work on higher input voltage levels with the same power switches. This new version is generally called as SCMI (stacked cascade multilevel inverter). The proposed inverter has potential to generate high quality waveforms, reduction in switching frequency, capable to operate at higher voltage levels and finally utilizes minimum number of switching components. The presented version of SCMI is simulated in Matlab-simulink and further, experimental validation is carried out in the laboratory with prototype setup

Clinical Holding as a Behavior Guidance Technique in Pediatric Dentistry

    No full text
Clinical Holding is a technique that is commonly used in the field of nursing to ensure a safe and controlled manner of delivering treatment by stabilizing the patient through physical holds or supports or assists. In dentistry, guiding a child's behavior for a successful treatment can be done through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological means. When the latter fails, before opting for the pharmacological modes, holding the child for stabilization is a sensitive technique that requires to be backed by evidence. This scoping review is an integrative collection of every published literature till 2021 that addresses clinical holding and that can draw relevance to pediatric dentistry

DSTATCOM deploying CGBP based icosϕ neural network technique for power conditioning

    No full text
Present investigation focuses design & simulation study of a three phase three wire DSTATCOM deploying a conjugate gradient back propagation (CGBP) based icosϕ neural network technique. It is used for various tasks such as source current harmonic reduction, load balancing and power factor correction under various loading which further reduces the DC link voltage of the inverter. The proposed technique is implemented by mathematical analysis with suitable learning rate and updating weight using MATLAB/Simulink. It predicts the computation of fundamental weighting factor of active and reactive component of the load current for the generation of reference source current smoothly. It’s design capability is reflected under to prove the effectiveness of the DSTATCOM. The simulation waveforms are presented and verified using both MATLAB & real-time digital simulator (RTDS). It shows the better performance and maintains the power quality norm as per IEEE-519 by keeping THD of source current well below 5%. Keywords: CGBP based icosϕ neural network, DSTATCOM, MATLAB, RTD

Real Time Harmonic Mitigation Using Fuzzy Based Highly Reliable Three Dual-Buck Full-Bridge APF for Dynamic Unbalanced Load

    No full text
Abstract This study presents a highly reliable 3-phase 4-wire, three dual-buck full-bridge shunt active power filter (3 DB FB APF) for distribution system. The proposed topology uses three single phase dual buck full bridge inverter sharing the same dc-link capacitor with high utilization of dc-bus voltage. The dual buck inverter circuit composed of one power switch and one diode leg instead of two power switches conventional inverter leg effectually eliminate the undesirable “shoot-through” phenomenon occurs in conventional inverter circuit. The fuzzy and adaptive hysteresis current controller based id-iq control strategy has been adopted to generate optimized switching frequency. For validation, the proposed topology is implemented in the OPAL-RT LAB using OP5142-Spartan 3 FPGA. The dynamic performance of the proposed 3 DB FB APF is assessed for sinusoidal, unbalanced and non-sinusoidal voltage source condition with unbalanced non-linear load that is when both three-phase and single-phase loads are present in the system. Besides, the results with proportional-integral (PI) controller are compared with FLC in terms of harmonic compensation. Furthermore, a comparison has been made between split capacitor dual buck half bridge active power filter (2C DB HB APF) and proposed 3 DB FB APF based on switch power rating.</jats:p
