No full textIl y présente le résultat de ses réflexions sur les manières de « faire la jeunesse », autrement dit sur les façons culturelles, socialisées, pour une fille ou un garçon, hier et aujourd'hui, au village ou à l'école, de devenir adulte. Et immanquablement il revient sur les souvenirs de ses propres expériences de jeune garçon et d’adolescent, de son enfance narbonnaise puis carcassonnaise.
Une part centrale des publications de Daniel Fabre concerne la question des enfants et des « jeunes », leur apprentissage de la vie adulte, les voies de leur socialisation. Le texte ici publié synthétise ses réflexions en posant explicitement la question de l’existence ou non d’un parallélisme entre l’« initiation » des filles et celle des garçons.
Il compare ainsi l’apprentissage des garçons, tourné vers l’extérieur, marqué par la transgression des limites entre le domestique et le sauvage, les vivants et les morts, et l’apprentissage des filles, centré au contraire sur l’interprétation intime des mutations de leur corps et la préparation au mariage et à la maternité. Le texte de cette conférence est suivi d’un entretien avec Alessio Catalini en 2012, qui rappelle les points de soudure entre les traditions intellectuelles française et italienne ayant dessiné les objets de recherche de Daniel Fabre

No full textSe il concetto di ‹ambiente scritto› è stato utilizzato in ambito paleografico per descrivere una specifica realtà urbana di antico regime ricca di segni e simboli, non di meno può essere impiegato per designare il più remoto territorio alpino. La montagna, infatti, contiene magmaticamente le tracce di generazioni di uomini e donne, che in questo volume abbiamo tentato di individuare, distinguere, classificare. È un mondo, quello alpino, in cui la scrittura è quasi onnipresente, ma non sempre evidente, perché celata dall’irraggiungibilità di alcune vette o dall’assuefazione dell’osservatore o dalla pregiudiziale cecità del viaggiatore. Erede degli studi sull’alfabetizzazione alpina, questo volume apre lo sguardo su tutte le forme di scrittura di cui la montagna sembra essere insieme l’origine, lo scopo e il supporto. Le storie che racconta, i segni che ci mostra, restituiscono un mondo che sin dai tempi più remoti ha utilizzato la scrittura come traccia del passaggio e strumento dell’esistenza, un filo rosso che fa della montagna, così come la conosciamo, un universo che la scrittura ha contribuito a rendere vivibile e pensabile
Les Sassi de Matera, du scandale national au monument ethnologique
No full textIl saggio ripercorre le vicende e il dibattito che hanno segnato il progressivo passaggio, nel corso del ’900, da una concezione dei Sassi di Matera come scandalo etnografico e vergogna nazionale a un’altra che vedeva in essi il simbolo di un passato contadino ormai del tutto superato e che poneva l’esigenza di un loro ripensamento in termini storico-culturali, attraverso l’individuazione di uno specifico e peculiare valore sul piano monumentale, architettonico, urbanistico e socio-antropologico. Lungo questa via, a seguito anche del riconoscimento della città come patrimonio dell’umanità da parte dell’Unesco nel 1993, i Sassi sono assurti a simbolo identitario intorno a cui costruire l’immagine di Matera da veicolare sul piano nazionale e internazionale, recuperando così in chiave positiva i miti accumulatisi nel tempo, fino a diventare il logo esportabile dell’intera storia locale in funzione soprattutto di un turismo crescente, tanto nazionale quanto internazionale

This book, based on papers presented at an international symposium in 2001, is an important milestone in the LAHIC laboratory's research into the ethnology of heritage. This introductory text outlines the main stages of this collective research program.En 2010, Daniel Fabre et Anna Iuso dirigent la publication du volume Les monuments sont habités aux éditions de la Maison des sciences de l'Homme, dans la collection des cahiers d'ethnologie de la France. Cet ouvrage, nourri des communication prononcées lors d'un colloque international en 2001 est un important jalon des recherches menées au sein du laboratoire LAHIC sur l'ethnologie du patrimoine. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
