Populasi adalah pedagang kaki lima di Pasar Klitikan Notoharjo
Surakarta yang berjumlah 989 pedagang. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 100
orang dengan pertimbangan 10% dari total populasi yang berjumlah 989 adalah
98,9 atau 100 orang.
Hasil penelitian setelah dilakukan analisis crosstab, menunjukkan
bahwa: (1) Strategi pemasaran Pedagang Kaki Lima di Pasar Klitikan
Notoharjo Surakarta meliputi strategi pemasaran: market penetration, market
extension, pengembangan produk dan diversifikasi produk. (2) Strategi
pemasaran yang tepat diterapkan adalah strategi originalitas produk, dimana
para Pedagang Kaki Lima menyediakan berbagai produk original untuk semua
barang yang ditawarkan kepada konsumen. (3) Strategi pemasaran yang kurang
tepat ditetapkan adalah strategi penguasaan pasar sasaran, dimana para
Pedagang Kaki Lima tidak perlu menyediakan segmentasi pasar sasaran,
karena pihak pengelola pasar sudah menyediakan berbagai kios yang berisi
beranekaragam barang dan jasa sehingga kemungkinan pasar sasaran sudah
cukup tersedi
Teachers in the Educational Overseas: Stress, Burnout, and Resilience
No full textAs expected, teaching abroad is a life changing experience for educators. There is no doubt that it will be a new experience and an eye-opening moment for them which can shape their future lives too. However, it can also be a challenge for them as they are in a place where the culture is totally different from their home countries. It got even worse when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred and affected many aspects. In this study, there were 15 teachers in educational overseas contexts who have been awarded Fulbright scholarships and taught in their host countries (both from US to other countries and from other countries to the US). By using semi-constructed interviews, they have shared their bittersweet experiences, from adaptation to stress, and burnout to resilience. However, this unique condition did not reduce the fundamental values of the exchange program itself which is still noteworthy for deepening mutual understanding between their homes and host countries

Elementary School Teachers’ Perspectives and Practices of Multicultural Education in Indonesia
Get PDFThe main purpose of the study was to investigate multiculturalism and multicultural education perspectives and practices of elementary school teachers in Indonesia. The research was designed as a qualitative case study which focused on seven elementary school teachers as study participants. In this study, semi-structured interviews are used to evaluate teachers’ understanding of culture as defined by Creshaw (1989, 2008) and multiculturalism concept by using four levels of understanding multiculturalism as defined by Nieto (1994, 2017). As well as elementary school teachers’ practices of multicultural education implementation as outlined by Banks (1999, 2019). The results of the study showed that all study participants had an idea of what multicultural and multicultural education with different levels of understanding and implementation. The findings also indicate the needs of professional development about multicultural education for teachers to extend their perspectives for the better practices in implementing multicultural education.

Analisis Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja Pada Sektor Industri Manufaktur (Besar dan Sedang) di Provinsi Jawa Timur Tahun 2007-2011.
Get PDFSektor industri merupakan sektor yang diharapkan dapat menjadi leading sector karena sektor industri ini dapat mengangkat sektor lainnya dan mampu memberikan peluang kerja untuk menekan tingginya pengangguran khususnya di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Namun permasalahan yang timbul adalah dengan adanya potensi sektor industri ini tidak dapat mengatasi permasalahan ketenagakerjaan atau pengangguran secara signifikan meskipun pengangguran menurun nilainya masih cenderung tinggi. Penelitian ini akan menganalisis beberapa variabel penentu dalam upaya meningkatkan tingkat penyerapan tenaga kerja (LAB) melalui sektor industri manufaktur. Adapun beberapa variabelnya yaitu IND (jumlah industri), LABCOST (upah), OUTPUT (nilai output), dan INCOST (biaya input). Analisis data ini akan dilakukan dengan pendekatan regresi data panel. Dimana sampelnya merupakan seluruh industri sedang dan besar di Provinsi Jawa Timur dengan jangka waktu penelitian selama periode 2007 hingga 2011. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari segi jumlah industri, upah, nilai output, dan biaya input berpengaruh positif dan signifikan sehingga mampu meningkatkan penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri manufaktur di Provinsi Jawa Timur
Children\u27s Literature, Mirror, and Window
No full textChildren’s literature, especially picture books, conveys more meaning than what is illustrated and printed. As mirrors, children’s picture books reflect the identities and representations and, as windows, can offer a perspective on real lives. The metaphor of mirror and window in children’s literature can be an educational tool for teachers in the classroom to represent numerous social contexts where there are people from different cultural backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions and beliefs, genders, and social classes. Few picture books for kids are inclusive and diverse which shows the need for the equity, diversity, and inclusion in children\u27s literature. No full textMy research explores the impact of training prospective teachers to deliver Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in rural elementary schools in Papua, Indonesia—a region with limited access to resources and unique geographical challenges. My research seeks to understand how STEM teaching can be adapted to these settings and examines the potential of using local knowledge to foster student engagement and learning. My study found that teachers can effectively introduce STEM concepts without relying on high-tech materials. By integrating local cultural practices and students\u27 everyday experiences, these educators make STEM topics more relatable and accessible. This approach not only enhances students’ understanding and performance in STEM subjects, but also sparks greater interest in the field, empowering young minds with the knowledge and curiosity essential for future growth. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
