REMARKS: Rondani (1861g: 391) described Sarcophaga amita from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens. In his redescription Rondani (1862d: 122) specified having had more than one male: “ Marem legi in collibus, et alium in Apenino agri parmensis [I collected the male on hills, and once on the Parmese Apennines]”. Pape (1988: 6) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotypes (2 ♂♂) but did not mention an additional male in the OUMNH and one male in the MSNC (both of these additional specimens are paralectotypes).Published as part of Sforzi, Alessandra & Sommaggio, Daniele, 2021, Catalog of the Diptera types described by Camillo Rondani, pp. 1-438 in Zootaxa 4989 (1) on page 198, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4989.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/498062
