A construção da imagem pública nas redes sociais : um estudo do caso dos presidentes da América Latina no uso do Instagram

Defesa : Curitiba, 10/03/2022Inclui referências: p. 93-99Resumo: O objeto de estudo desta dissertação é o perfil na rede social online Instagram de 15 presidentes de 14 países da América Latina, sendo eles Alberto Fernández (Argentina), Andrés López Obrador (México), Carlos Alvarado Quesada (Costa Rica), Iván Duque Márquez (Colômbia), Jair Messias Bolsonaro (Brasil), Jeanine Áñez (Bolívia), Lenín Moreno (Equador), Luis Abinader (República Dominicana), Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou (Uruguai), Luis Arce (Bolívia), Mario Abdo Benítez (Paraguai), Martín Vizcarra (Peru), Nayib Bukele (El Salvador), Nicolás Maduro (Venezuela) e Sebastián Piñera (Chile). O problema central da pesquisa é: como ocorreu a construção de imagem destes políticos na plataforma?. Os objetivos específicos são: analisar o uso geral do Instagram pelos presidentes; a presença do personalismo nas postagens; a aproximação com o cidadão comum; e os efeitos da pandemia. A metodologia utilizada foi a análise de conteúdo quantitativa, seguindo os quatro passos de Gillian Rose (2001) para análise de conteúdo de imagens. O corpus da pesquisa foi gerado apenas por imagens, coletando todas as imagens postadas pelos perfis pessoais dos presidentes entre 20 de março a 30 de novembro de 2020, o que resultou em um total de 6.321 postagens. Os resultados apontaram que: I) De forma geral, o Instagram foi utilizado para o gerenciamento da imagem pessoal, informações e anúncio de políticas públicas; II) Na dimensão da individualização (político x instituições) houve um alto grau de personalismo, pois a presença do partido dos presidentes foi quase nula. Contudo, na dimensão da privatização (características políticas x características pessoais) o personalismo diminui, visto a baixa presença de aspectos da vida privada de cada presidente; III) A aproximação com o cidadão comum é notada de diversas maneiras, pela presença e protagonismo de cidadãos nas postagens e pela interação dos presidentes com cidadãos; IV) A Pandemia apareceu de forma discreta, ou seja, não foi tão mencionada, porém manifestou-se através do distanciamento social presente nas imagens, do uso de máscara e no destaque de saúde na variável Políticas Públicas; e V) Ao que tudo indica a ideologia não possui influência estatisticamente significativa nas postagens, entretanto pesquisas com um N maior de políticos poderia gerar outros resultados.Abstract: The object of study of this dissertation is the profile on the social midia Instagram of 15 presidents from 14 Latin American countries, namely Alberto Fernández (Argentina), Andrés López Obrador (Mexico), Carlos Alvarado Quesada (Costa Rica), Iván Duque Márquez (Colombia), Jair Messias Bolsonaro (Brazil), Jeanine Áñez (Bolivia), Lenín Moreno (Ecuador), Luis Abinader (Dominican Republic), Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou (Uruguay), Luis Arce (Bolivia), Mario Abdo Benítez (Paraguay) , Martín Vizcarra (Peru), Nayib Bukele (El Salvador), Nicolás Maduro (Venezuela) and Sebastián Piñera (Chile). The central problem of the research is: how did the construction of image public's these politicians on the platform occur?. The specific objectives are: to analyze the general use of Instagram by presidents; the presence of personalism in the posts; the approximation with the ordinary people; and the effects of the pandemic. The methodology used was quantitative content analysis, following Gillian Rose's (2001) four steps for content analysis of the visual image. The research corpus was generated only by images, collecting all the images posted by the presidents' personal profiles between March 20 and November 30, 2020, which resulted in a total of 6.321 posts. The results showed that: I) In general, Instagram was used to manage personal image, information and public policy announcement; II) In the dimension of individualization (politicians x institutions) there was a high degree of personalism, since the presence of the presidents' party was almost nil. However, in the dimension of privatization (political characteristics x personal characteristics) personalism decreases, given the low presence of aspects of each president's private life; III) The approximation with the ordinary people is noticed in several ways, by the presence and protagonism of citizens in the posts and by the interaction of presidents with citizens; IV) The Pandemic appeared discreetly, that is, it was not mentioned as much, but it manifested itself through the social distance present in the images, the use of a mask and the highlight of health in the Public Policies variable; and V) It seems that ideology does not have a statistically significant influence on posts, however research with a greater N of politicians could generate other results
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
