    Abstrak. Tulisan ini berupaya membangun paradigma pendekatan ilmu sosial yang relavan dengan Islam di era modern. Modernisasi di Indonesia saat ini sedang menuju era 5.0 yang menurut penulis masih dapat diperdebatkan secara esensial. Sedangkan, dialog yang dimaksud dalam tulisan ini merupakan suatu tawaran yang memungkinkan diterima masyarakat Islam dan non-Islam. Menurut Ali Hassan Zaidi dialog bersifat universal, yang dapat digunakan untuk saling mengapresiasi walaupun jarak memisahkan satu sama lain. Pada bagian pertama, penulis mencoba menjelaskan masalah-masalah pada modernitas, serta pengaruhnya pada manusia secara umum, dan secara spesifik pada masyarakat Islam. Bagian kedua, mencari titik temu antara masalah tersebut, dengan teori dialog yang dikembangkan oleh Ali Hassan Zaidi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif-deksriptif menggunakan metode pengumpulan data yakni penelitian perpustakaan (library research). Dengan menguraikan dua permasalah tersebut, penulis berharap dapat membangun paradigma yang jelas dan yang lebih relavan. Diperkuat analisa teori sosiologi dialog yang dikembangkan oleh Ali Hassan Zaidi. Kemudian dengan kesimpulan bahwa dialog kemanusiaan merupakan suatu solusi untuk menyelesaikan masalah-masalah sosial masyarakat Islam. Kata kunci: Islam, Modernitas, Dialog Kemanusiaan, Ali Hassan Zaidi Abstract. This paper seeks to build a paradigm of social science approach that is relevant to Islam in the modern era. Modernization in Indonesia is currently towards the 5.0 era, which in the author\u27s opinion is still essentially debatable. Meanwhile, the dialogue referred in this paper is an offer that\u27s enable accepted by Muslim and non-Islamic communities. According to Ali Hassan Zaidi, dialogue has the universal quality, which can be used to appreciate each other even though distance separates both of them. In the first part, the author tries to explain the problems of modernity, as well as its influence on humans in general, and specifically on Islamic society. The second part, seeking the common ground between these problems with the theory of dialogue developed by Ali Hassan Zaidi. This type of research is qualitative-descriptive research using data collection methods, namely library research. By explaning these two problems, the author hopes to build a clear and more relevant paradigm. It is strengthened by the analysis of the sociological theory of dialogue developed by Ali Hassan Zaidi.     Design of LDPC Decoder for Error Correction in Memory Devices

    NAND flash memories are used in large number of electronic devices for storing data. The ever increasing demand of the high storage in these devices has resulted in high density NAND flash memories. The high density is achieved through the process of continuous technology scaling and the use of multilevel cell (MLC) technology. In multilevel cell technology more than one bits are stored in a single cell of the flash memory. However, this increased storage density has come at a price of reduced reliability. The raw bit error rate has increased rapidly in high density flash memories, therefore, demanding more powerful error correcting codes. The bit error rate (BER) requirements in NAND flash memories are reported to be 10^−13 to 10^−16, after applying the error correcting code. The current practice is to use the hard decision error correcting codes in NAND flash memories, such as BCH codes. However, as the raw bit error rate is getting worse, these hard decision codes will not be able to achieve the BER requirements of these memories. Therefore, more powerful error correcting codes with soft decision decoding algorithm are required. Among the soft decision codes, low density parity check codes (LDPC) can be a promising candidate for error correction in high density NAND flash memories due to their excellent error correction performance close to the Shannon limit. LDPC codes employed in NAND flash memories have large block lengths and very high code rate and should show good error correcting and error floor performance. Evaluating the error floor performance of these codes at very low frame error rates, typically around 10^−9 to 10^−10, require the use of high speed hardware simulators. Due to the reconfigurability and high speed, field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are largely used for evaluating the performance of LDPC codes. This thesis presents an FPGA based simulator system for evaluating the error correction and error floor performance of regular quasi cyclic (QC) LDPC Codes, for the application of large page size MLC NAND flash memories. Particularly, we targeted the algebraic QC-LDPC codes, which have high code rates and good error correcting and error floor performance. A generalized, high throughput and resource efficient hardware implementation of the QC-LDPC encoder and the decoder is given on FPGA. The proposed decoder can decode any regular QC-LDPC code including very high circulant weight QC-LDPC codes, such as euclidean geometry (EG) LDPC codes. The generalized and high throughput implementation of such large circulant weight QC-LDPC codes is not reported previously in the open literature. Moreover, the encoder and decoder hardware implementations are given on FPGA for very large page size (8 KB) of NAND flash memory, which are also not dealt previously in the open literature. A high speed and high quality floating point additive white Gaussian noise channel is implemented on FPGA using the high level synthesis method. The high level synthesis is used to rapidly prototype the channel on FPGA and to lower the development time of the LDPC simulator system. The very low consumption of the logic resources by the channel also enabled us to instantiate many channel modules in parallel, resulting in high throughput of the simulator. This thesis also presents the FPGA implementation and simulation results of two algebraic QC-LDPC codes for the page size 8 KB of NAND flash memory. Simulation results show good error correcting and error floor performance of the developed codes making them a promising candidate for error correction in NAND flash memorie

    يتلخص هذا البحث بدراسة خصائص الشخصية الانطوانية في نصوص علي عبد النبي الزيدي المسرحية. احتوى البحث على أربعة فصول، تناول الفصل الأول مشكلة البحث والتي حددت بالتساؤل الآتي: ما هي خصائص الشخصية الانطوائية في نصوص علي عبد النبي الزيدي المسرحية ؟ وتداعت أهمية البحث في الكشف والوصول إلى نتائج أبعاد الشخصية الانطوائية، وجاءت الحاجة إليه كونه يفيد ذوي الاختصاص من مؤلفين ومخرجين ودارسي علم نفس الشخصية وطلبة في كليات الفنون الجميلة ومعاهدها. وتضمن هدف البحث تعرف على خصائص الشخصية الانطوائية في نصوص علي عبد النبي الزيدي المسرحية. أما الفصل الثاني أحتوى على الإطار النظري فتضمن مبحثين، عني المبحث الأول بدراسة مفهوم والانطواء فلسفياً ونفسياً وفق مفاهيم علماء النفس. وقد عني المبحث الثاني بدراسة الشخصية الانطوائية في النص المسرحي العالمي والذي ضم كل من المسرح الغربي والمسرح العربي اما الفصل الثالث تضمن مجتمع البحث من (12) نصاً مسرحياً للكاتب علي عبد النبي الزيدي واحتوت عينة البحث على (3) نصوص مسرحية اما الفصل الرابع احتوى على النتائج والاستنتاجات والتوصيات والمقترحات.This research is summarized by studying the characteristics of the Antoine personality in the theatrical texts of Ali Abd al-Nabi al-Zaidi. The research contained four chapters. The first chapter dealt with the research problem, which was identified by the following question: What are the characteristics of the introverted personality in the theatrical texts of Ali Abdul Nabi Al-Zaidi? The importance of the research in revealing and reaching the results of the dimensions of the introverted personality, and the need for it came as it benefits the specialists, including authors, directors, students of personality psychology, and students in fine arts colleges and institutes. The aim of the research included identifying the characteristics of the introverted personality in the theatrical texts of Ali Abd al-Nabi al-Zaidi. As for the second chapter, it contained the theoretical framework, and it included two sections. The first section deals with the study of the concept of introversion, philosophically and psychologically, according to the concepts of psychologists. The second topic was concerned with studying the introverted personality in the global theatrical text, which included both Western theater and Arab theater. The third chapter included the research community of (12) theatrical texts by the writer Ali Abdul Nabi Al-Zaidi. The research sample contained (3) theatrical texts, while the fourth chapter contained Findings, conclusions, recommendations and suggestions

    Transkrip ini membincangkan mengenai latar belakang seorang tokoh gasing yang terkenal dan berpengalaman di negeri Melaka. Transkrip ini ingin mengungkap pengalaman tokoh iaitu Encik Mohd Zaidi bin Ali yang berasal dari negeri Melaka. Oleh kerana ramai kalangan di generasi muda sekarang yang tidak mengetahui tentang permainan gasing ini adalah antara permainan tradisional yang sering dimainkan oleh orang terdahulu. Tambahan itu, transkrip ini akan membincangkan tentang gasing dengan lebih mendalam untuk mengetahui tentang asal-usul gasing di Malaysia, cara pembuatan gasing yang jarang diketahui, cara permainan gasing dimainkan dan tentang pendapat tokoh tersendiri mengenai gasing di Malaysia. Akan tetapi, ia bukan sahaja menyentuh mengenai gasing malahan sedikit tentang latar belakang tokoh dan sejarah bagaimana tokoh memulakan penglibatan beliau di dalam bidang gasing. Selain daripada itu, temu bual ini juga ingin mengungkap perasaan tokoh sepanjang bergiat dalam bidang gasing, perasaan tokoh apabila menerima penghargaan dan kemenangan. Kajian ini difokuskan kepada para pengkaji ataupun penyelidik, pelajar serta orang awam. Oleh yang demikian, kami berharap kajian yang dilakukan bersama-sama tokoh gasing ini dapat memberi pencerahan kepada para pembaca terutama generasi muda mengenai permainan tradisional gasing yang masih wujud di Malaysia

    Shear deformation mathematical modeling of functional graded clamped beams under bending

    In this paper, high order bending theories are used to develop an analytical model considering shear strains in displacement fields which have not been taken into account by other theories for functionally graded material (FGM) symmetric beams under bending. A new polynomial shear function satisfied the stress-free boundary conditions, is used in this investigation.These theories do not require a shear correction factor and consider a hyperbolic shape function. Material properties are assumed to vary in the thickness direction, a simple power-law distribution in terms of volume fractions of constituents is considered. The mathematical model is established by differential equations which are derived by the principle of virtual work. Equilibrium equations and boundary conditions are introduced. The solution model is based on a variation approach (integrals) to predict the field component of displacements and the basic constitutive laws. The solution of the analytical model for the beam case with clamped ends represents the originality of this research work presented in this paper. Results in terms of displacement fields including rotation of the section, deformations, and stresses, predicted from the proposed model and compared with those of simply supported end beams found in the literature, are presented. This contribution helps to understand the FGM beams and the use of the proposed mathematical model

    Latihan ilmiah merupakan kursus yang ditawarkan kepada pelajar Sarjana Muda Teknologi Maklumat Universiti Malaya bagi Tahap Akhir sebagai syarat utama fakulti. Kursus ini meliputi pembangunan sistem komputer yang ditawarkan oleh pensyarah-pensyarah fakulti. Bagi latihan ini, pembangunan Sistem Inventori Kolej Kediaman (SIKK) telah dipilih dan ia tertumpu kepada Kolej Kediaman Tun Ahmad Zaidi (Kolej 10) Universiti Malaya. Kursus ini terbahagi kepada Latihan llmiah 1 dan Latihan Ilmiah 2 yang masing-masing ditawarkan pada semester I dan semester 2. Kedua-dua kursus ini adalah saling berkait, dan wajib diambil untuk memenuhi syarat latihan ilmiah. Projek ini ditawarkan oleh Puan Nor Edzan Che Nasir di bawah Jabatnn Pengurusan bagi pelajar Sarjana Muda Teknologi Maklumat, Fakulti Sains Kompuler dan Teknologi Maklumat, Universiti Malaya. Laporan ini memaparkan ulasan terhadap SIKK secara padat, ringkas dan tepat dan ia meliputi semua fasa yang terlibat dalam Kitar Hayat Pembangunan Sistem (KHPS) iaitu analisis, rekabentuk, perlaksanaan, ujian dan penyelenggaraan. Laporan ini terdiri daripada Bab I hingga Bab II dan dilampirkan dengan beberapa gambarajah, jadual serta bibliografi. Setiap bab disusun rapi untuk mudah dibaca oleh pembaca.     Achieving Superscalar Performance without Superscalar Overheads - A Dataflow Compiler IR for Custom Computing

    The difficulty of effectively parallelizing code for multicore processors, combined with the end of threshold voltage scaling has resulted in the problem of 'Dark Silicon', severely limiting performance scaling despite Moore's Law. To address dark silicon, not only must we drastically improve the energy efficiency of computation, but due to Amdahl's Law, we must do so without compromising sequential performance. Designers increasingly utilize custom hardware to dramatically improve both efficiency and performance in increasingly heterogeneous architectures. Unfortunately, while it efficiently accelerates numeric, data-parallel applications, custom hardware often exhibits poor performance on sequential code, so complex, power-hungry superscalar processors must still be utilized. This paper addresses the problem of improving sequential performance in custom hardware by (a) switching from a statically scheduled to a dynamically scheduled (dataflow) execution model, and (b) developing a new compiler IR for high-level synthesis that enables aggressive exposition of ILP even in the presence of complex control flow. This new IR is directly implemented as a static dataflow graph in hardware by our high-level synthesis tool-chain, and shows an average speedup of 1.13 times over equivalent hardware generated using LegUp, an existing HLS tool. In addition, our new IR allows us to further trade area & energy for performance, increasing the average speedup to 1.55 times, through loop unrolling, with a peak speedup of 4.05 times. Our custom hardware is able to approach the sequential cycle-counts of an Intel Nehalem Core i7 superscalar processor, while consuming on average only 0.25 times the energy of an in-order Altera Nios IIf processor
