Hugo Mãe também tem escrito contos, tão excepcionais quanto as narrativas longas. Dentre eles,
Contos de cães e maus lobos, de 2015, foco desse estudo, em especial o conto “Quatro velhos”. À luz
da Geografia Humanista Cultural, de base fenomenológica, será dada ênfase à geograficidade,
enquanto essência geográfica do ser-estar-no-mundo, e à paisagem em movimento, de modo a
demarcar sua vulnerabilidade e resiliência. Para tanto, constituirão o aporte teórico os estudos de
Bachelard (2008), Dardel (2011), Tuan (2012; 2013) e Marandola Jr e Hogan (2006). Do ponto de
vista metodológico, configura-se uma pesquisa qualitativa de cunho bibliográfico.Our goal with this article is to highlight one of the most hallowed authors of the Newest
Portuguese Literature – contemporaneous movement that has proposed to disrupt with themes
and construction forms of its elements: Valter Hugo Mãe. Author of critically acclaimed novels,
Valter Hugo Mãe has also written short stories just as exceptional as his longer narratives. Among
these, Contos de cães e maus lobos, from 2015, the focus of this study, especially the “Quatro
velhos” short story. Under the light of the Cultural Humanistic Geography of phenomenological
base, we will emphasize geographicity as the geographical essence of being-in-the-world, as well as
the moving landscape as a way of marking its vulnerability and resilience. For such, the studies of
Bachelard (2008), Dardel (2011), Tuan (2012; 2013), and Marandola Jr and Hogan (2006) comprise

Mobile Technology in Libraries: A Survey of Periodical Literature Published in Emerald Database
No full textThe purpose of this study is to explore the growth and development of periodical literature on “Mobile Technology” from the March 2002 to March 2019. The bibliographic data of the articles has been collected from the 18 leading peer-reviewed journals by using keywords such as “Mobile Technology”, “Smartphone”, “SMS” etc. indexed in Emerald database (www.emeraldinsight.com). For analyzing and interpretation, a bibliographic detail of the articles such as author, title, year, types of paper, place of publication, source, etc has been recorded in the MS-Excel sheet (2007). The result indicates that a total 113 articles on Mobile Technology published in 18 leading peer-reviewed journals and it’s indexed in the emerald database during the March 2002 to March 2019. Further, the study reveals that 2014 was the most productive year 17 (15.04%) in terms of growth of LIS literature on Mobile Technology. It has also been observed that a total of 23 (20.35%) articles on Mobile Technology published in “Library Hi-Tech News” followed by Library Hi-Tech 22 (19.47%). The USA is the most productive country 29 (25.66%) in relation to the contribution of LIS literature. The study is based on 113 research articles published since March 2002 to March 2019 and it seems while collecting data from the emerald database that publication of articles on mobile technology was started from 2002. The whole research work is carried out under the umbrella of research ethics and its outcome might be helpful for the other research scholars

No full textŽanr \u27knjige manir,\u27 ki se je sicer formiral že bolj zgodaj, se je v poznem srednjem in zgodnjem novem veku razpasel po vsej Evropi in s seboj prinesel tudi nove družbene norme, sodobne ideje in hipotetično priložnost za socialni vzpon svojih bralcev. Tovrstna dela so učila manir in primernega obnašanja, v določenih primerih pa tudi morale. Fokus te magistrske naloge je s pomočjo primernih virov znotraj knjig manir, oziroma širše, didaktične literature, osvetliti vprašanje njihove vsebine in nasvetov, s poudarkom na nasvetih v relaciji do nasprotnega spola. Ti viri so: Zaklad mesta dam Christine de Pizan, Knjiga viteza stolpa Geoffroya de La Tour Landry, Le Ménagier de Paris neznanega avtorja, Urbanus Magnus Daniela Becclesa, Zgodbe grofa Lucanorja Don Juan Manuela, Knjiga dvorjana, ki jo je napisal Baldesar Castiglione in knjiga Galateo katere avtor je Giovanni della Casa.
Medtem ko srednjeveška in zgodnjenovoveška didaktična literatura namenjena ženskam največ pozornosti namenja temam religije, čistosti, primernega obnašanja in odnosa do moža, se literatura namenjena moškim bolj ukvarja s temami prijateljstva, govorništva in časti (najpogosteje v kontekstu vojskovanja). Skupno z literaturo za ženske pa so jim nasveti v povezavi s primernim vedenjem in ravnanjem s pripadniki drugega spola. Obema spoloma je bila predpisana skromnost, ponižnost in pobožnost, ženskam tudi popolna pokornost svojim možem, moškim pa pogum v boju, spretnost z besedami in zvestoba prijatelju ali gospodarju.The courtesy book genre had spread throughout Europe in the late medieval- and early modern period, despite having formed earlier than that. Courtesy books brought new social norms, modern ideas and a hypothetical possibility for upward social mobility for its readers. Such literary works taught good manners, polite behaviour and in some cases morality. The focus of this master’s thesis is to enlighten the reader as to the contents and the advice given in those kinds of works (and didactic literature in general), with special attention to the treatment of the opposite gender. The sources examined are: The Treasure of the City of Ladies by Christine de Pizan, The Book of the Knight in the Tower by Geoffroy de La Tour Landry, Le Ménagier de Paris (author unknown), Urbanus Magnus by Daniel of Beccles, Tales of Count Lucanor by Don Juan Manuel, The Book of the Courtier by Baldessare Castiglione, and Galateo by Giovanni della Casa.
Medieval and early modern didactic literature written for women dedicated most of its contents to the themes of religion, purity, proper manners, and the relationship between the husband and wife. Conversely, the literature written for men spends more time exploring themes of friendship, rhetoric, and honour (especially in the context of warfare). Common to both are themes of proper behaviour and treatment of the opposite gender. For both genders, the sources advise for modesty, humility and piety, while women were also instructed to be subservient to their husbands, and men to be brave in battle, skilled with words, loyal to their friends and to their lord
Thoracoscopic Drainage of Para-Vertebral Abscess - Report of Two Cases
No full textTuberculosis of the spine is common in tropical countries like Bangladesh and it is the most common site of skeletal
tuberculosis as a whole. In addition to the anti-tubercular chemotherapy, paravertebral abscess often require surgical
decompression. Surgical intervention for the thoracic region needs formal thoracotomy which involves a very long
incision over the chest. In this regards, thoracoscopic drainage would have been a good option. Two patients (one 53
years old female and other 20 years old male) with para- vertebral abscess with compression and collapse of vertebral
bodies resulting cord compression presented with neurological symptoms underwent video assisted thoracoscopic
drainage with biopsy from the abscess wall using a standard laparoscope (as thoracoscope) at the Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), and a private hospital in Dhaka. The patients were fed on 1st post operative
day and antituberculer chemotheraphy was continued. Post-operative period was uneventful and the patients were
discharged on 8th post operative day with antituberculer chemotheraphy. There was a gradual improvement of neurological
symptoms of lower limbs. Till date the 1st and 2nd patient were followed-up for a period of 18 and 12 months respectively.
The condition of both patients improved gradually with no neurological deficit. To the best of our knowledge, there was
no previous report of thoracoscopic drainage of para-vertebral abscess from Bangladesh. So this is the 1st report in our
country. Thoracoscopic drainage of para-vertebral abscess appears to be a technically feasible, patient friendly modality
of treatment for the spinal tuberculosis in experienced hand with excellent cosmetic out come.

TORTO ARADO, DE ITAMAR VIEIRA JÚNIOR : AS POSSÍVEIS IMBRICAÇÕES ENTRE O ESPAÇO, A TERRA E O FEMININO
No full textIn Torto Arado (2019), there is Bibiana and Belonísia sisters’ narrative, two black women who live in a farm controlled by landowner and claimed by its workers as historical property of black people. The plot collects some mysteries, like the age it belongs to in the middle of the 20th century, and “the incident with Donana’s blade”. Thus, the author approaches topics that involve the slavery heritage of Brazil; afrodescents people’s rights; collective memory; power of language; space; female voices; maternity; and fight for the land. Therefore, this research aims to analyze those topics focusing on the relation between land and the characters, emphasizing the symbolism of the local houses and female posture in the novel. For that, the theoretical background is mainly based on Bachelard (1978), Tuan (2011), and Ramos (2022) in a bibliographical process investigation.Em Torto Arado (2019), observa-se a narrativa das irmãs Bibiana e Belonísia, duas mulheres negras que vivem em uma fazenda dominada por latifundiários e reivindicada pelos seus trabalhadores como propriedade histórica do povo negro. O enredo coleciona alguns mistérios, como o tempo em que se passa no século XX e alguns detalhes sobre o “incidente com a lâmina de Donana”. Com isso, o autor aborda temas que envolvem o legado da escravidão no Brasil; os direitos da população afrodescendente brasileira; memória coletiva; o poder da linguagem; espaço; vozes femininas; maternidade e a luta pela terra. Posto isso, esta pesquisa visa analisar tais questões com foco na relação entre a terra e os personagens, enfatizando o simbolismo das casas locais e a postura feminina no romance. O exílio interior em Teolinda Gersão: a experiência de lugar existencial na velhice
No full textThis paper analyzes the experience of the existential place in the short story “Mal-entendidos” (Prantos, amores e outros desvarios, 2016), by the Portuguese author Teolinda Gersão. The narrative focuses on the place lived in old age in the midst of incommunicability and artificialism in the contemporary family relations. The textual tessitura articulates the fictional subjectivity to the real world objectivism, as an inner exile, understood as an attitude of resistance, updating the discussion about the human condition of the elderly people in the XXI century. The theoretical contribution will be mainly supported by Yi-Fu Tuan, Paul Illie, Maria Heloísa Dias and Simone de Beauvoir.Analisa-se a experiência do lugar existencial no conto “Mal-entendidos” (Prantos, amores e outros desvarios, 2016), da escritora portuguesa Teolinda Gersão. A narrativa focaliza o lugar vivido na velhice em meio à incomunicabilidade e ao artificialismo nas relações familiares contemporâneas. A tessitura textual articula a subjetividade ficcional à objetivação do mundo real, enquanto exílio interior, compreendido como atitude de resistência, atualizando a discussão acerca da condição humana dos idosos no século XXI. La tesitura textual articula la subjetividad ficcional a la objetivación del mundo real, como exilio interior, comprendido como actitud de resistencia, actualizando la discusión acerca de la condición humana de los ancianos en el siglo XXI. El aporte teórico se respaldará, fundamentalmente, en Yi-Fu Tuan, Paul Illie, Maria Heloísa Dias y Simone de Beauvoir
