Modern creator in Sergey Samsonov\u27s novel The Kamlayev Anomaly

    No full text
The article is devoted to the novel of Sergey Samsonov – The Kamlayev Anomaly. The focus is on the issue of a creative man and his creations. The author maximizes the notion of creative work, going beyond the limits of the sphere of music and bringing it to the sphere of life itself. Samsonov is trying to analyze the state of being of the 21st century human and the cause of human spiritual crisis. Samsonov\u27s writing is considered in the context of the new realism. Author\u27s creative method is also compared with the debatable concept of metamodermism

On the place and significance of judicial practice and legal precedent in Russian civil procedural law

    No full text
The article examines the possibility of attributing judicial practice and judicial precedent to the sources (forms) of civil procedural law. The author claims that these categories are close, but not identical; analyzes various approaches to their understanding in the legal literature, and also formulates their definitions. The author distinguishes judicial practice in a broad and narrow sense, outlining the hierarchical boundaries of the latter from decisions made by the court of first instance to decisions of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, made in specific cases as supervisors; the author draws attention to the special nature of the Decisions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and reviews of judicial practice approved by the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, due to the fact that they are not acts issued in specific cases, and are taken out of procedural form. The author substantiates the thesis that the rulings of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, issued in exercising supervision, constitute a judicial precedent, currently implicitly recognized as the source (form) of the right at the legislative level, while the rest of the judicial practice within the specified limits individual elements, or in general, the source of law is not, and provides relevant examples. The author proposes the need to transfer implicit recognition of decisions of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, made in specific cases in the order of supervision to the category of explicit ones; and also notes the need to legislate additional conditions for the use of judicial precedent as a source (form) of law

    On abelian repetition threshold

We study the avoidance of Abelian powers of words and consider three reasonable generalizations of the notion of Abelian power to fractional powers. Our main goal is to find an Abelian analogue of the repetition threshold, i.e., a numerical value separating k-avoidable and k-unavoidable Abelian powers for each size k of the alphabet. We prove lower bounds for the Abelian repetition threshold for large alphabets and all definitions of Abelian fractional power. We develop a method estimating the exponential growth rate of Abelian-power-free languages. Using this method, we get non-trivial lower bounds for Abelian repetition threshold for small alphabets. We suggest that some of the obtained bounds are the exact values of Abelian repetition threshold. In addition, we provide upper bounds for the growth rates of some particular Abelian-power-free languages. © 2011 EDP Sciences

Geoeffectiveness of interplanetary shocks controlled by impact angles: past research, recent advancements, and future work

    No full text
Interplanetary shocks are disturbances commonly observed in the solar wind. IP shock impacts can cause a myriad of space weather effects in the Earth’s magnetopause, inner magnetosphere, ionosphere, thermosphere, and ground magnetic field. The shock impact angle, measured as the angle the shock normal vector performs with the Sun-Earth line, has been shown to be a very important parameter that controls shock geoeffectivess. An extensive review provided by Oliveira and Samsonov (2018) summarized all the work known at the time with respect to shock impact angles and geomagnetic activity; however, this topic has had some progress since Oliveira and Samsonov (2018) and the main goal of this mini review is to summarize all achievements to date in the topic to the knowledge of the author. Finally, this mini review also brings a few suggestions and ideas for future research in the area of IP shock impact angle geoeffectiveness. This work was possible thanks to the financial support provided by the NASA HGIO program through grant 80NSSC22K0756.https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fspas.2023.1179279/ful
