The sustainable team gymnast : A qualitative study about enabling longer elite careers in teamgym
No full textSyfte och frågeställning: Studiens syfte var att undersöka elitaktiva truppgymnasters syn på hållbart elitidrottande och hur man kan möjliggöra längre elitkarriärer i truppgymnastik. Detta tar avstamp i följande frågeställning, som lyder: Vilka faktorer tror elitaktiva truppgymnaster bidrar till en hållbar elitkarriär i truppgymnastik? Metod: För att besvara studiens syfte och frågeställning valdes en kvalitativ intervjumetod. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med hjälp av sex elitaktiva truppgymnaster, män och kvinnor, födda 1996 eller tidigare. Intervjuerna spelades in, avlyssnades, transkriberades och analyserades. Citat och huvudteman togs fram med en blandning av induktiv och deduktiv tematisk analys. Resultat: Resultatet visade att det tema som genomsyrar intervjuerna genomgående är passionen till sporten, att deltagarna helt enkelt älskar truppgymnastik, och att detta är en stark inre motivation hos dem. Vidare presenteras ämnena idrottskontext och vardagskontext med dess underteman. De kategorier som här utmärker sig som viktiga aspekter till varför deltagarna väljer att fortsätta sitt elitutövande är: sammanhang, stöd och drivkraft. I resultatdelen framkommer även att inställningen till begreppen hållbarhet och elitidrott varierar mycket mellan deltagarna. Slutsats: Med tidigare forskningsresultat som utgångspunkt konstateras både samband och skillnader i resultatet i denna studie. Under intervjuerna framkommer olika teman och konsekvenser av dessa som tillsammans i studien benämns som en sund elitidrottsmiljö. Den sunda elitidrottsmiljön är en stark förutsättning för möjliggörandet av längre elitkarriärer i truppgymnastik och bör tas hänsyn till samt ses över av samtliga aktörer inom idrotten. Aim: The purpose of the study was to investigate the wives of elite team gymnasts on sustainable elite sport and how to enable longer elite careers in teamgym. This is based on the following research question: What factors do elite team gymnasts believe contribute to a sustainable elite career in teamgym? Method: In order to answer the study's purpose and research question, a qualitative interview method was chosen. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the help of six elite active team gymnasts, both men and women, born in 1996 or earlier. The interviews were recorded, listened to, transcribed and analyzed. Quotes and main themes were developed using inductive and deductive thematic analysis. Results: The result showed that the theme that pervades throughout the interviews is the passion for the sport, that the participants simply love teamgym, and that this is a strong internal motivation for them. Furthermore, the themes “sports context” and “everyday context” are presented with several sub-themes. Above all, three categories are highlighted as the most essential in why the participants choose to continue their elite practice, these are: relatedness, support and drive. Findings also show that the attitude towards the concepts of sustainability and elite sport varies greatly between the participants. Conclusion: With previous research results as a starting point, both connections and differences in the results in this study are established. During the interviews, various themes and their consequences emerge, which together in the study are referred to as “a healthy elite sport environment”. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
