No full textThe number of literary works dedicated to the Spanish Civil War has been growing recently to
the extent that those tragic three years now represent one of the most frequent topics in contemporary
literature. In 2009, the Spanish writer Susana Fortes published her novel Waiting for Robert
Capa (Esperando a Robert Capa), contributing thus to the long list of titles dealing with the topic
of war. Without resigning to a poetic license, the author created a fictitious literary reconstruction of
key moments in the lives of two famous photographers, Gerda Taro and Robert Capa, whose snapshot
collections are even today recognized as a valid and extensive testimony of everyday life in
the period of the Spanish Civil War. This literary reconstruction of real historical events concerning
both the lives of the photographers and the Civil War is based on a research into historical studies,
texts, written documents and on graphic material in particular. It should be emphasized that in this
novel, the photographs are very important. Throughout the story, the novelist constantly makes references
to different snapshots taken by Robert Capa, Gerda Taro and other renowned photographers
of that time. These references are so detailed that the identification of the alluded pictures is made
easy. It is also interesting to analyze how methods normally used in graphic arts are applied on
narrative processes, creating numerous visual images that form a background to all that is viewed,
experienced or recorded by the protagonists of the novel

No full textThe spanish contemporary author lucía Extebarría brings in one of her first novels called Beatrice and the Heavenly Bodies, a type of a rebel heroine, unwilling to submit to the traditional patterns. a closer view reveals that we encounter a similar character as andrea from carmen laforet`s novel Nothing (Nada) from 1942, considered by carmen Martín Gaite a prototype of a “strange girl” (“chica rara”). although Etxebarria`s heroine lives in completely different times, she, just as andrea, rejects to accept traditional roles and tries to find her own way. nevertheless, unlike andrea, she is not quite sure which direction she wants to take in her life and which her main objectives actually are. This insecurity reflects the disillusion and nihilism that became evident particularly in the nineties. In this sense it is very interesting to focus on the philosophic attitudes of Etxebarria`s protagonists, mainly on their general view of the sense of life and human existence. It is equally interesting to pay attention to those questions that are related to the position of women in the contemporary society.En el presente artículo nos dedicaremos, ante todo, a la fase inicial de la trayectoria literaria de lucía Etxebarria. Prestaremos una atención especial a los personajes femeninos que protagonizan la novela Beatriz y los cuerpos celestes, con la que Etxebarria se consagró como escritora, para poder trazar el perfil de sus heroínas. Para conseguir ese fin partiremos del concepto de la «chica rara» que carmen Martín Gaite aplicó antaño a andrea, la protagonista de Nada de carmen laforet, ya que el modelo es bien aplicable a algunas protagonistas de Etxebarria, sobre todo, a las que aparecen en sus primeras narraciones. a pesar de que los personajes de lucía Etxebarria se encuentran en unas circunstancias históricas y sociales completamente diferentes, con la protagonista de Nada comparten el mismo afán de resistencia que les impulsa a rechazar los roles impuestos y les da fuerza para oponerse y no someterse al dictado. a diferencia de andrea, sin embargo, las protagonistas de Etxebarria se rebelan contra lo establecido sin tener bien claras sus propias aspiraciones, desvelando una indecisión y vacilación esenciales, las que, de cierta forma, reflejan la desilusión y el nihilismo finisecular. En este sentido resulta interesante enfocar las actitudes y posturas de los personajes relacionadas con su visión del mundo, el sentido de la vida y de la existencia humana. Asimismo intentaremos acercarnos a los personajes femeninos con el prop.sito de reflexionar sobre el papel de la mujer en la sociedad actual.Dans un de ses premiers romans Béatriz et les corps célestes (Beatriz y los cuerpos celestes), l’écrivaine contemporaine lucía Etxebarria présente un type de l’héroïne révoltée qui refuse de se soumettre aux schémas traditionnels et ne veut pas accepter des rôles imposés. En regardant de plus près, nous constatons qu’il s’agit du type d’héroïne ressemblant à andrea du roman de carmen laforet rien (Nada) de 1942; carmen Martín Gaite l’a désignée comme prototype d’une “fille étrange” (“chica rara”). bien que l’héroïne de lucía Etxebarria vive dans une époque différente, elle réfuse –en accord avec andrea– de se soumettre aux formules sociales conventionnelles, et s’efforce à trouver sa propre voie. contrai- rement à andrea, elle ne voit pas clair les buts de sa vie et comment les atteindre. cette incertitude et tâtonnements reflètent la désillusion et le nihilisme qui s’est manifesté dans la société espagnole dans les années 90. Il est donc intéressant de se concentrer, de ce point de vue, sur les oppinions des personnages de l. E. qui concernent surtour la recherche du sens de la vie. De même, il est intéressant de prêter attention aux questions liées à la position des femmes dans la société contemporaine

No full textIn Spain the last decade of the 20th century is related with a new generation of young authors who represent the so called Generation X. Their novels are often referred to as "urban chronicles", because these writers focused mainly the common life of the young generation, teenagers and adolescents. As the everyday reality of their heroes is influenced by political, social and cultural changes, the writers offer in their works a reflection of the situation in the contemporary western society. Both the time and the space are categories that in the works of Generation X members receive a special treatment. Therefore it is very interesting to pay special attention to them and observe the ways they are being used as significant elements in the novels written in 1990', especially in Historias del Kronen
El imaginario de la violencia: entre el miedo y la fascinación. Consideraciones en torno a Perra brava de Orfa Alarcón
No full textEl miedo está inseparablemente vinculado al fenómeno de la violencia que se haconvertido en un tema importante de la narconovela mexicana. Este género literario —que últimamente está viviendo un período de un frenético desarrollo—, cuenta con una serie de obras, entre las que destaca la novela Perra brava de Orfa Alarcón, publicada en 2010. Aunque la obra suele clasificarse como una narconovela, no se trata de una muestra paradigmática de dicho géneroliterario, ya que por su forma se acerca mucho más a una novela psicológica. La obra está protagonizada por el personaje de Fernanda, una estudiante universitaria, cuyo presente, así como su pasado, está marcado por el miedo y el temor que se desprenden de los horrores relacionados con la sofocante omnipresencia de la violencia que forma parte inseparable de la vida de la heroína. Sin embargo, el mundo de los narcos con sus reglas especiales esta vez no se encuentra en el centro de la atención, puesto que una de las líneas argumentales enfoca a la propia protagonista, cuya evolución se sigue a lo largo del discurso narrativo, a modo de la tradición de las novelas de aprendizaje o iniciación. Así pues, la historia —narrada por la propia protagonista—, gira, ante todo, alrededor de la metamorfosis de la heroína, que de víctima indefensa se convierte en victimaria despiadada. Prestaremos atención al análisis de losprocedimientos narrativos utilizados a la hora de seguir la transformación del personaje principal, que se somete a un cambio radical, de manera queobservaremos cómo una joven indefensa, abusada y maltratada, pasa a ser una persona impasible y despiadada. Asimismo, resulta sugerente enfocar lasreacciones de la protagonista frente a las manifestaciones de violencia, puesto que podemos contemplar cómo el miedo y el temor iniciales dejan paso a la admiración y a la fascinación que la protagonista sentirá por lo violento
Globalização e tradições orais: algumas observações sobre a oralidade indígena na Amazônia
No full textIndigenous orality represents an important part in the everyday life of the Ameriandian communities from the Ecuadorian Amazon region. It is important to see a symptom of serious threats in this phenomenon that can lead to the extinction of these indigenous languages. According to recent research, several languages spoken in the communities of Ecuador are considered to be in danger of extinction. Effective prevention can be promoted by academic projects focused on encouraging indigenous speakers of all generations to use the language regularly in ordinary situations. In this way, indigenous languages can become the language of instruction used in official educational institutions.La oralidad indígena representa una parte importante en la vida cotidiana de las comunidades ameriandinas en la región amazónica ecuatoriana. Es importante ver en este fenómeno un síntoma de amenazas graves, que pueden conducir a la extinción de esas lenguas indígenas. Según investigaciones recientes, se considera que varios idiomas que se hablan en las comunidades de Ecuador están en peligro de extinción. La prevención efectiva puede ser promovida por proyectos académicos enfocados en alentar a los hablantes indígenas de todas las generaciones a usar el idioma regularmente en situaciones ordinarias y los idiomas indígenas pueden convertirse en el idioma de instrucción utilizado en las instituciones educativas oficiales.A oralidade indígena representa uma parte importante na vida cotidiana das comunidades ameríndias na região da Amazônia equatoriana. It should be taken into account that the Greeks did not have any fixed religious dogmas, a matter that has been confirmed even through a detailed analysis of the attributes of Athena. It is not the purpose of the present author to give any exhaustive treatment of the artistic representations of the so-called Allāt-Athena cluster.El propósito del presente artículo es examinar aquellos problemas relativos a la fusión Allāt-Athena, centrándose en el caso de Palmira. Ha de tenerse en cuenta, para ello, que los griegos no establecieron dogmas religiosos, asunto que queda confirmado, incluso, en un detallado análisis de los atributos de Athena. Vaya por delante que el autor no pretende ofrecer un tratamiento exhaustivo de las representaciones artísticas de la fusión Allāt-Athena
