Your letter came a few days ago and I was glad to hear from you and to know that bath of you are well. I realize that I put you and myself in the hole by going to N.York but I am going to try to make amends for every thing. I am sending you a little something I would have sent more but I am trying to send Dr. Mebane something, and I am getting it off at the same time I am sending yours. You can look to receive something from me every month without fail. Hope you will keep in good health. I am going to write you oftener and I want you to write me. Albin Lönnbeck var lärare i svenska, lantdagsman och under en period rektor för Nya svenska samskolan i Helsingfors. Lönnbeck är författare till Studier i finska vitterheten efter 1830 (1883), ett verk som behandlar den finska litteraturhistorien ur ett svensksinnat perspektiv. Trots sin utgångspunkt i språkstriden påtar sig Lönnbeck uppgiften att initierat behandla motståndarsidans litteratur, alltså den finskspråkiga litteraturen i Finland. Som litteraturhistorisk författare har Lönnbeck också skrivit om Josef Julius Wecksells författarskap. Därtill skrev han en akademisk avhandling om den arkaiska grekiska konsten.

Albin Lönnbeck oli ruotsinopettaja, valtiopäivämies ja jonkin aikaa Helsingin Nya svenska samskolanin rehtori. Lönnbeck on kirjoittanut teoksen Studier i finska vitterheten efter 1830 (1883). Teos käsittelee suomalaista kirjallisuuden historiaa ruotsinmielisestä näkökulmasta. Kielitaistelun lähtökohdasta huolimatta Lönnbeck ottaa tehtäväkseen käsitellä asiantuntevasti vastapuolen kirjallisuutta eli siis suomenkielistä kirjallisuutta Suomessa. Kirjallisuushistorioitsijana Lönnbeck on kirjoittanut myös Josef Julius Wecksellsin tuotannosta. Lisäksi hän kirjoitti akateemisen väitöskirjan arkaaisesta kreikkalaisesta taiteesta

The municipal housing in Vienna`s post-war period on the example of the Per-Albin-Hansson estate West
No full textThema meiner Arbeit ist der Wiener kommunale Wohnbau der Nachkriegszeit, der am Beispiel der Per Albin Hansson Siedlung West (Architekten: Franz Schuster, Friedrich Pangratz, Stephan Simony, Eugen Wörle, 1947-51 und 1954-55) eingehend analysiert werden soll. Nach einem kurzen Rückblick auf den kommunalen Wohnbau des Roten Wien soll die Wohnbautätigkeit der Nachkriegszeit genauer untersucht werden. Hierbei soll auf die zwischen 1947 bis 1955 entstandenen Siedlungen in Wien eingegangen werden. Zentrale Kriterien sind dabei die städtebauliche Lage, Siedlungsstrukturen, Typologien, Grundrisslösungen, kommunale Einrichtungen, die planenden Architekten, die gestalterischen Elemente und der Freiraumbezug. Ein wichtiger Punkt ist ferner die Frage, inwiefern die Gartenstadtbewegung Großbritanniens Einfluss auf die Siedlungen in Wien hatte bzw. ob es Analogien zum deutschen Siedlungsbau gibt. Eine abschließende Betrachtung gilt den seit den 1990er Jahren vollzogenen Sanierungsmaßnahmen. Primärquellen für die Arbeit sind die Pläne zur Per Albin Hansson Siedlung des Architekturzentrums Wien (Nachlass von Eugen Wörle) sowie die der MA 37.The topic of my thesis is the construction of municipal housing in Vienna`s post-war period, with a focus on the Per-Albin-Hansson estate West (architects: Franz Schuster, Friedrich Pangratz, Stephan Simony, Eugen Wörle, 1947-1951 and 1954-1955). After a short review of the municipal housing of the "Red Vienna", the residential construction activity of the post-war period is thoroughly examined. Therefore, the Vienna residential buildings raised between 1947 to 1955 are described in detail. The main criteria are the urban sites, the settlement structures, typologies, blueprints, residential service facilities, the involved architects, the architectural elements and the relationship with the environment. Furthermore, another essential aspect is whether the settlements in Vienna are influenced by Great Britain`s garden city movements and whether there are any analogies to German municipal housing. A final spotlight falls on the restoration measures of the 1990`s. The main sources for the research are the blueprints for the Per-Albin-Hansson estate West of the -Architekturzentrum Wien- (Eugen Wörle`s heritage) and those of the municipal department 37
