Wound Healing in Pyoderma Gangrenosum
No full textPyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is an ulcerative painful, chronic neutrophilic dermatosis that is often associated with an underlying illness. There is limited evidence on the best treatment for PG, and first-line systemic therapies are associated with adverse events. In order to optimize therapeutics, topical therapy and local wound care should be carefully addressed. Topical therapies for PG include topical and intralesional immunosuppressants, immunomodulators, and alternative therapies. Multiple moisture-retentive dressings and compression therapy have been used to promote healing. Less often used but still beneficial for more severe cases are negative pressure wound therapy and skin substitutes. PG is not only a physical disease but affects patients psychologically as well. A therapeutic relationship must be maintained to provide holistic care and achieve common ground with the patient in order to ensure patient adherence
Dynamics of Campus Travel Behavior under the COVID-19 Pandemic
No full textThe COVID-19 pandemic has shown to be a global challenge that, in addition to other effects, has influenced travel behavior. This study examines factors affecting academic travelers’ mode choice before and during the pandemic and factors contributing to sustainable transportation on campus. By examining their travel patterns and behaviors, we contribute to understanding transportation preferences and identifying opportunities for sustainable transportation on university campuses. Studying academic travelers is crucial as they are significant daily travelers with a substantial impact on transportation systems and the environment. Understanding their mode choices helps transportation planners and policymakers promote sustainable transportation options. The literature has identified influential factors in making trips to university campuses, including age, gender, accommodation, cost, and travel time. However, cross-sectional studies involving comprehensive variables are lacking and the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on transportation has not been thoroughly evaluated. To address this gap, the current study aims to evaluate novel variables, including intra-transport modes, entry permits, accessibility, parking availability, occupations, level of study, travel purpose, and visit frequency. The University of Isfahan, accessible by all modes of transport, was selected as the study area. After analyzing the questionnaire and variables using SPSS software (IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 22.0 Released 2013), travel behavior was studied by discrete choice models and the models’ coefficients were estimated using NLOGIT. The finding demonstrated that using private modes (taxi, private vehicle, and active modes) increased in response to the pandemic, while using public modes (bus or subway) represented a decline. Before and during the pandemic, most people who had the same trip purpose shifted from taking the bus to using private vehicles and active transportation. Generally, people became more inclined to walk on campus during the pandemic. This study aimed to examine the travel behavior of academic travelers, who possess diverse travel choices compared with typical commuters, thus providing valuable insights into how the broader population might respond to different transportation options. The findings offer a novel perspective for university and city planners, enabling more informed decisions regarding sustainable development in campus areas

Clarifying the Role of Family in Implementing Resistance Economy Inspired by Alavi Conduct
No full textOne of the fundamental steps in the country’s economic development is “resistance economy”. Appropriate economic planning and organization in the family and society ensures achieving the goals of resistance economy. In this respect, one of the appropriate criteria for planning and economic organization is the sublime Alavi conduct. This study has been undertaken to explore “the role of family in carrying out the resistance economy inspired by Alavi conduct”. This study examines factors and requirements of resistance economy in the family and dimensions of changes in knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of family economics in implementing resistance economy based on Alavi conduct. The results of the study indicate that harmonization of economic programs with theoretical and practical life of Imam Ali (AS) and making constructive changes in knowledge, attitudes and economical behaviors of family is essential. In order to achieve the objectives of resistance economy, considering the Alavi economic approach in policy making and determining the economic approach could be effective

No full textThese two volumes constitute the second part (nun-taw) of the Syriac-Arabic dictionary of the 10th cent. physician Isho bar Ali (the first half of the dictionary had been published in 1874 by G. Hoffmann). Each Syriac word is defined in Arabic, often with more than one Arabic equivalent; in addition, the author deals not just with individual Syriac words, but in some cases with phrases. Gottheil used 21 manuscripts (from Oxford, London, Paris, Berlin, Leiden, and Rome) for this edition, and he has supplied a thorough critical apparatus; the manuscripts are described in the introduction. While some manuscripts give the Arabic glosses in Syriac characters (i.e. Garshuni), Gottheil has presented them here in Arabic script. These two volumes will be of great interest to Syriac lexicographers and those who study interactions between Syriac and Arabic.Contains an English introduction by Richard J.H. Gotthei
