Interpretação e tradução no conto "Marta Riquelme", de Ezequiel Martínez Estrada
Our leading purpose is to identify and discuss the presence of ideias of interpretation and translation within Ezequiel Martínez Estrada’s short story “Marta Riquelme” (1956), in parallel to a complete translation of the text, from the original Spanish to Portuguese, with a reflexion on the translation process, as well as a translation of another Martínez Estrada’s story (“Un crimen sin recompensa”, 1957), included in this investigation for its peculiar intertextual relationship with “Marta Riquelme”. Then, based on Benjamin, Jakobson and Antoine Berman’s studies on translation, we intend to indicate how literary analysis may increase its scope and/or be helped by a work of translation by the literary analyst himself. By managing the reconstituition of a stranger's lost text, through a gesture of apropriation and expression in order to presentify it, incomplete as it may be, “Marta Riquelme” performs both a textual act of playing, similar to those conceptualized by literary theory (intertextuality, literary genres, authority and reading), and a metaforization of the translation act, rising questions frequently debated in translation studies, such as: fidelity, intention, interpretation, meaning, original text.O trabalho se propõe a identificar e discutir a presença de ideias relacionadas com a interpretação e a tradução no conto “Marta Riquelme” (1956), de Ezequiel Martínez Estrada, realizando em paralelo uma tradução integral da obra, do espanhol para o português, no intento de apontar como sua análise literária pode ser ampliada e/ou auxiliada por um trabalho de tradução do texto.
Hudson

Frontiers of SLE: review of the 5th International Congress of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Cancun, Mexico, April 20-25, 1998.
Objective: To review the recent advances in clinical and experimental research in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods: Review of the 5th International Congress of SLE that took place in Cancun, Mexico, on April 20-25, 1998. Results: The main topics presented at the conference are summarized. These include new findings about the genetics of SLE due to fine mapping of the patients' genes and lupus mouse models, the nucleosome as a major autoantigen in SLE, serving as an immunogen for pathogenic T helper and B cells and contributing to the development of lupus nephritis, abnormalities of apoptosis as a cause of SLE, and apoptotic mechanisms as a cause of autoimmunization. Other topics included the pathophysiologic role of anti-endothelial cell antibodies in lupus with central nervous system involvement, vasculitis, the thrombotic diathesis associated with the antiphospholipid syndrome, induction of endothelial cell apoptosis and its regulation by the idiotypic network, the penetration of antinuclear antibodies to the cytoplasm and nucleus and the subsequent interaction with cellular organelles, and new aspects in the antiphospholipid syndrome, including animal models of the disease and the importance of antibodies to beta-2-glycoprotein-I and prothrombin. Advances in the clinical aspects of SLE included clinical manifestations, diagnosis, pregnancy and neonatal SLE, infections, hormones, and treatment. Additionally, four "Lectures of A Lifetime," entitled (1) What causes lupus? (2) From natural autoimmunity to autoimmune disease; (3) The idiotypic network and SLE; and (4) Late-stage morbidity and mortality in SLE-the role of accelerated atherosclerosis were presented. Conclusions: Recent advances provide new insights into the pathogenesis of SLE, as well as hope for novel therapeutic modalities and diagnostic measures. These offer the possibility of improving life quality and decreasing mortality from the disease and its complications. Semin Arthritis Rheum 29:112-130. Copyright (C) 1999 by W.B. Saunders Company

Differential diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren's syndrome using machine learning and multi-omics data
Systemic lupus erythematosus and primary Sjogren's syndrome are complex systemic autoimmune diseases that are often misdiagnosed. In this article, we demonstrate the potential of machine learning to perform differential diagnosis of these similar pathologies using gene expression and methylation data from 651 individuals. Furthermore, we analyzed the impact of the heterogeneity of these diseases on the performance of the predictive models, discovering that patients assigned to a specific molecular cluster are misclassified more often and affect to the overall performance of the predictive models. In addition, we found that the samples characterized by a high interferon activity are the ones predicted with more accuracy, followed by the samples with high inflammatory activity. Finally, we identified a group of biomarkers that improve the predictions compared to using the whole data and we validated them with external studies from other tissues and technological platforms

Stages for the More Sustainable Farm
Currently, agricultural farm units are faced with a double and most times contradictory challenge, in order to be successful: on the one hand the invested capital has to be profitable and the economic performance has to be maximised. On the other hand, given the socio-environmental situation, it is necessary to preserve and to protect the environment and natural resources. Given the potential conflict of the two aims, since the satisfaction of one implies the underperformance of the other (and vice versa), the question then is: which is the solution to choose? We intend, in this work, to formulate a farm plan with the purpose of reconciling the criteria of environmental sustainability with that of economic competitiveness. For this achievement we proceed to the comparative study of sustainability of different groups of farms identified in the study area (first evaluation cycle) through MESMIS (“Marco para la Evaluación de Sistemas de Manejo de Recursos Naturales Mediante Indicadores de Sustentabilidad” - Framework for Evaluation of Natural-Resource Systems Handling through Sustainability Indicators) methodology, that allowed to select the more sustainable group of farms. Based on the found potentialities and weakness on these production systems, we stepped to the planning of a production unit of bovine meat, which obeys simultaneously to economic and environmental objectives, using Multicriteria Decision. We finished the work with the sustainability evaluation between groups of farms identified previously and the planned farms (second evaluation cycle), based, again, in the MESMIS methodology, to confirm (or not) the greatest sustainability of the last ones. Analyses of the results allow us to confirm the greatest relative sustainability of the planned farm, for the diverse traced scenarios.Decision taking, planning, sustainability, Environmental Economics and Policy, Farm Management,
New Attempts to Define and Clarify Lupus
The purpose is to discuss the advances that genetics and genomics have provided to better understand the molecular mechanisms behind SLE and how to solve its heterogeneity. I propose new ideas that can help us stratify lupus in order to find the best therapies for each patient, and the idea of substituting clinical diagnosis with molecular diagnosis according to their molecular patterns, an idea that may not only include lupus but also other diseases. The study of rare mutations may provide insight into groups of lupus patients where type I interferon signature is important and help understand those with an atypical clinical presentation. Recent papers used longitudinal blood transcriptome data correlating with disease activity scores to stratify lupus into molecular clusters. The implication of neutrophils in the risk to develop nephritis was established, but also that neutrophils and lymphocytes may correlate with activity differentiating the mechanisms of flares and separating patients into clinically separate groups. The role of type I interferon signature is important; however, the stratification of SLE patients according to the genes and cellular compartments being modulated during disease activity may be even more important to define those patients who may benefit the most with new anti-type I IFN receptor therapies
