eISBN: 9781788975919Aladro Vico discusses the nature and conditions of cognitive work, defined as the kind of work that enhances human knowledge. This work is specially linked to human freedom because it occurs it in any activity carried by an individual. One of the most important sources of cognitive work is education and research institutions. Today's research and academic working conditions endanger and shorten the natural freedom that characterises and surrounds cognitive work. This means that development of this activity is very deeply affected. Consequently, knowledge extension, innovation and productive research are also curtailed. To prevent losing the richness of cognitive work, it is necessary to ensure its main conditions of development, linked to some academic working requirements, such as the opening of free thresholds of time and space extension, and relaxed conditions for reflection and perception, which are being threatened by the current globalized and productivistic system at Academia.

There are digital elements whose ingenuity and creativity have set trends not only in digital platforms but also in daily communication among members of society. This study demonstrates how the so-called "memes" can be modified and derive into others, maintaining the basis of its meaning but opening the possibility of providing new meanings according to the way and manner in which the receiver interprets it. At the same time, it will be shown how in this new mass media culture, memes are habitually used outside the network, creating jargons and, therefore, population nodes where their inclusion in them will depend on the degree of knowledge that one has about these elements and their derivations.

Professor Eva Vico and assistant professor Graciela Padilla propose a communication to share the results of a teaching innovation research, funded by the Complutense University of Madrid and the Section of Innovation Projects and Improvement of the Educational Quality, of the Vice President for Development and Quality Teaching.
Its researchers (Felicísimo Valbuena, Eva Aladro, Graciela Padilla and Ignacio Jiménez) studied European literature on teaching through the Internet, innovation projects in Spanish universities and Web tools that require teachers and students of journalism and media. After analyzing the educational needs in Spain, have proposed the creation of a Web page with blog, message board, chat room for teachers and students, downloads area, videos, books and texts; indispensable tools in today's world for teachers and students, built by and for both.
We propose a paper in which to share our teaching experience to show how times and teaching methods are changing. The teacher must adapt to these changes and acquire a Web culture to understand their students and make them get their lessons in a fun and complete. The student ceases to be a passive listener in his classes to become a participant, creator and responsible for their own university education. Indeed, one of the sections of this website is dedicated to television and new television series that so successfully grown throughout the world. College students are part of that massive audience and participate in its consumption, and sometimes survival, structure and script, thanks to blogs about series. Our site wants to study the importance of these blogs because they have forgotten lofty series (Buffy, Northern Exposure, Veronica Mars), have changed the script for success series (Prison Break, Lost) and have given life to disappear or series little success (Arrested Development, Hawthorne, Nurse Jackie). Spanish university students participate in that success and know they can influence the future of their favourite television products, simply from his thoughts through a blog

Processes of legitimization in contemporary art: the young British artists phenomenon
The Young British Artists (YBAs) was a generation that incorporated elements from media, advertising and cultural industry into the art world in the late 20th century. Based on a case study of the group and the distinctive phases of its meteoric trajectory, we analyze the circumstances and agents involved in the processes of legitimization in contemporary art. As an instrumental tool, we use the model presented by Alan Bowness in his 1989 publication, which outlines the process that allows artists to access certain social recognition. This outline provides us with a model of reference upon which to reconstruct the pattern of the YBAs trajectory with the intention of determining the sociocultural circumstances surrounding the media phenomenon. These results also correct and modify certain aspects of Bowness’ model to adapt it to the current socioeconomic context that sustains the processes of legitimization of art today
The Memes as a Jargon of Digital Language
This text discusses memes as a new language in the context of digital media. It states various hypotheses about the literacy function of memes, and describes the aspects that relate the pragmatics of the meme with generative and transformational languages. Once the linguistic nature of memes has been established, the text describes them as a sociolect or antilanguage associated with generational groups, subcultures or specific social groups, which through the characteristic operations of sociolects, access the sense of community, generate specific instances of meaning and defined as a translator system of the previous cultural forms.
