Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Prije četrdeset, pedeset godina kad su se spominjale klimatske promjene ljudski rod je odmahivao rukom. Onečišćenja koja smo kreirali sakupljala su se i uzrokovala promjene daleko od ljudi. Danas to ponašanje dolazi na naplatu. Danas su tu oko nas. Utječu na nas i na naš život, te gledamo na njih sa strepnjom. Polarne kape se otapaju, ekstremne temperature su sve češće, a sibirski permafrost se otapa i donosi nam tko zna kakve viruse iz davnina. Baš kao što smo nekada tretirali klimatske promjene i ne shvaćajući što uzrokujemo svojim postupanjem, danas tako tretiramo i problem otpada. Otpad se po nama događa nekom drugome i negdje drugdje no to nije tako. Otpad je tu svugdje oko nas i posljedice gomilanja otpada su sve vidljivije.
Poseban problem stvara elektronički otpad. Otpad uzrokovan sve bržim promjenama tehnologije, sve manjim mogućnostima popravka. Uređaji koji nam olakšavaju život dizajnirani su za bacanje a ne za servisiranje ili recikliranje.
Cilj ovog završnog rada je objasniti što je to reciklaža elektroničkog otpada, kako se provodi i zašto je važna. Da bismo to mogli i da imamo što bolji uvid prvo ćemo objasniti općenito što je to otpad i koja je razlika u odnosu na smeće. Objasnit ćemo što to znači gospodariti otpadom i koji su koraci. Nakon toga slijedi zbrinjavanje i zašto je važno te što je to recikliranje. Posebnu pažnju posvetit ćemo elektroničkom otpadu. Koliko ga se proizvodi u svijetu i tko su najveći proizvođači. Razotkrit ćemo što se sve nalazi u elektroničkom otpadu i o koji m vrijednostima govorimo. Nadalje objasnit ćemo kako se zbrinjava elektronički otpad i što je recikliranje elektroničkog otpada te koji ga problemi prate.Forty, fifty years ago, when climate change was mentioned, the human race waved its hand. The pollution we created was accumulating and causing changes away from people. Today, that behavior is coming to fruition. They are around us today. Climate changes affect us and our lives, and we look at them with apprehension. Polar caps are melting, extreme temperatures are becoming more common, and Siberian permafrost is melting and bringing us who knows what viruses from ancient times. Just as we used to treat climate change and not understanding what we are causing by our actions, today we treat the problem of waste in the same way. Waste, according to us, happens to someone else and somewhere else but that is not the case. Waste is all around us and the consequences of waste accumulation are becoming more visible.
Electronic waste creates a special problem. Waste caused by fast changes in technology, expensive and less possible repair options. Devices that make our lives easier are designed for dump and not for repairing or recycling.
The aim of this final paper is to explain what electronic waste recycling is, how it is carried out and why it is important. First we will explain in general about waste and what is the difference between garbage and waste. We will explain what it means to manage waste and what necessary steps are. This is followed by disposal, important of it and what recycling is. We will emphasize the role of electronic waste. How much is produced in the world and who are the biggest producers. We will reveal what is in electronic waste and what is the value of disposed materials. Furthermore we will explain how e-waste is disposed of and what e-waste recycling is and what problems accompany it
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Information and digital litteracy of PVZG students
Predmet istraživanja ovog rada je informacijska i digitalna pismenost studenata Poslovnog veleučilišta Zagreb (PVZG-a).
Sve do nedavno da biste bili pismeni bilo je dovoljno znati čitati i pisati te razumjeti ono što ste pročitali. Te vještine učimo u osnovnoj školi. No razvojem tehnologije pojavile su se nove vrste pismenosti koje se isprepleću kako s našim privatnim tako i poslovnim životom i postaju njihov neizostavni dio. Ovaj rad objašnjava pojmove informacijske i digitalne pismenosti. Jednako tako objašnjava zašto su informacijska i digitalna pismenost važne u današnje dobe. Pored toga upozorava na zamke na koje možemo naići u svijetu preopterećenom informacijama i pomaže nam da dobijemo odgovor na pitanje da li trebamo provjeravati informacije ili im samo slijepo vjerovati. Sasvim je jasno da je bilo koji oblik pismenosti dio cjeloživotnog učenja.
Završni dio rada je istraživanje čija svrha je da otkrijemo da li su studenti PVZG-a informacijski i digitalno pismeni, koji su im izvori informacija, kakve su njihove navike i metode pri traženju informacija i ako se služe nekom tehnologijom koja je to. Za PVZG je ovo važno saznanje jer ovisno o odgovorima može usmjeriti postojeći nastavni program. Za istraživanje odabrali smo anketu kao optimalnu metodu uz pomoć koje smo odgovorili na četiri hipoteze, a to su:
• H1 - Studenti PVZG-a najčešće koriste internet za pribavljanje informacija
• H2 - Studenti PVZG-a imaju profil na barem jednoj društvenoj mreži i uglavnom koriste mobitel za pristup internetu
• H3 - Studenti PVZG-a rijetko provjeravaju informacije s interneta
• H4 – Studenti PVZG-a su digitalno pismeni
Anketni upitnik je izrađen uz pomoć Google dokumenta, a poveznica na njega je distribuirana putem internog portala PVZG-a.The subject of research in this paper is the information and digital literacy of the students of the Zagreb University of Business (PVZG).
Until recently, to be literate it was enough to know how to read and write and understand what you read. We learn these skills in elementary school. But with the development of technology, new types of literacy have appeared that are intertwined with both our private and business lives and become an indispensable part of them. This paper explains the concepts of information and digital literacy. It also explains why information and digital literacy are important in today's age. In addition, it warns of the pitfalls we can encounter in a world overloaded with information and helps us get an answer to the question of whether we should check information or just blindly trust it. It is quite clear that any form of literacy is part of lifelong learning.
The final part of the work is research, the purpose of which is to find out whether the students of PVZG are informationally and digitally literate, what are their sources of information, what are their habits and methods when searching for information, and if they use any technology, what is it. For PVZG, this is important knowledge because depending on the answers, it can direct the existing curriculum. For research, we chose a survey as the optimal method, with the help of which we answered four hypotheses, namely:
• H1 - PVZG students most often use the Internet to obtain information
• H2 - PVZG students have a profile on at least one social network and mostly use a mobile phone to access the Internet
• H3 - PVZG students rarely check information from the Internet
• H4 – PVZG students are digitally literate
The survey questionnaire was created with the help of a Google document, and the link to it was distributed through the internal portal of PVZG

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
