Design and fabrication of mechanical sand purifier / Ahmad Aiman Suhaimi and Muhamad Faris Syafiq Khalid

    No full text
Sand purification is an essential process in construction and infrastructure development. However, the traditional sand purifier requires two workers to filter and pack the sand, making it time-consuming and costly. This project aims to design and develop a simple sand purifier that will help workers do their job faster while reducing the cost of the sand purifier. The traditional sand purifier requires two workers to filter and pack the sand, making it time-consuming and costly. Most sand purifiers in recent years are also quite expensive, especially automated machines. This limits accessibility for small-scale construction businesses and communities. The primary objective of this project is to design and develop a sand purifier that will filter all the unwanted substances in the sand and pack it into a sandbag with only one worker required. The machine is equipped with mechanical parts and runs using an electric motor, making it more affordable and accessible. The sand purifier was designed and fabricated using mechanical parts and an electric motor to shake the filter. The machine was tested and evaluated for its filtration efficiency, durability, and user-friendliness. The sand purifier developed in this project filtered all the unwanted substances in the sand and packed it into a sandbag with only one worker required, making the job faster and more efficient. The use of mechanical parts and an electric motor reduced the cost of the sand purifier, making it more affordable and accessible to small-scale construction businesses and communitie

Waste Compactor Trash Can / Wan Syafiq Nadzmie Wan Suhaimi and Ahmad Faidzal Khodori

    No full text
This project focuses on the design and development of a waste compactor trash can, aiming to revolutionize waste disposal by providing an efficient and space-saving solution for waste management. Traditional trash cans often result in overflowing bins, frequent emptying, and inefficient use of space. The waste compactor features an innovative mechanical design and compaction functions to optimize waste disposal. It features a manual compaction mechanism that reduces waste volume, allowing more waste to be stored in the same space. The trash can has a robust and user-friendly design that is easy to operate and maintain. Extensive testing and validation have been conducted to evaluate the performance and usability of the waste compactor trash can. Several types of waste materials and compaction settings were assessed to evaluate compaction efficiency and waste storage capacity. The successful implementation of this project will have a significant impact on waste disposal in various areas, such as homes, offices, and public facilities, by providing an efficient, cost-effective, and space-saving solution for waste disposal. By reducing the frequency of emptying, optimizing waste storage capacity, and promoting responsible waste management, this project is expected to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment

This study was aimed to general study about the operation and management of building services in higher educational institution (UiTM) base on the maintenance aspects, operation and management, building services aspect and how the system function efficiency to the occupant. Recently, there are several cases that present situation of problem in higher education building from building user about the maintenance management work. The study is based on the maintenance management aspect and respondent information. In this study also, the main objectives is to generally study about the building services and its operation and management system of the building, and identify the maintenance practice of operation and management of building services.^The area of study is in Facilities management department of University Teknology Mara (UiTM) campus in Shah Alam (main campus), UiTM Jalan Othman Petaling Jaya and UiTM INTEC seksyen 17 and selected building user and more focus on Faculties buildings/academic buildings and Uitm administration buildings only. So this study will analyze and recommendation to improve the maintenance management system through the strategic planning for higher educational. In order to achieve the objectives identified, literature review was done, then the data was collected using questionnaires, the collected data was analyzed using SPSS analysis. Findings had shown that UiTM campus have their own maintenance management system but the condition of campus still at average level which means performance fall shorts of requirement expectation and need improvement due to improper maintenance practice. Hence, to improve the current maintenance management system for campus, strategic planning has been suggested in order to increase performance, to provide an effective maintenance management, provide control for maintenance activities, improve quality, cost effective satisfaction, and to optimize the maintenance processes

Propulsion system design of glass reinforced bedar / Ahmad Syafiq Aizat Saule

    No full text
The term Bedar (spelled "bedor" in Terengganu) refers to a wide range of boats on Malaysia's east coast that carry one or two junk sails and lack the typical prahu pinas transom stern. (Wikipedia Contributors, 2022). The shape of this type of boat sets it apart from other traditional vessels.Straight but high keels on the front and back have a piece of wood protruding out like a spoon or a duck's beak on either side. The back spoon has a longer handle than the front one. Boats come in a variety of sizes. Small and medium-sized boats used for fishing while large and medium-sized vessels for transported passengers or goods. They use paddles and sails to propel themselves. The original structure Bedar boat will be replaced by another material as a result of this project. Glass-reinforced plastic, also known as fibreglass, is being considered as a possible replacement for the boat's original material, Cengal wood, in an effort to reduce construction costs. Fishing boats, yachts and another small boats, have been built with fibreglass for decades, commonly known as FRP or GRP in the industry (Han et al., 2020) (Zawahid, 2003). For this boat's propulsion system design, there will be no more sails used at all. An outboard motor was chosen over a sailboat because of its greater efficiency and widespread use
