Società e tras-formazione. Itinerari di Ermeneutica pedagogica in Zygmunt Bauman.

    No full text
This research paper attempts to reconstruct, from a socio-pedagogical viewpoint, the fundamental weave of thought of the social scientist Zygmunt Bauman and his intellectual connection with other scholars. Particular attention has been paid to the discovery of certain conceptual categories of formative importance (social order, responsibility, ethics, democracy, uncertainty, identity, wasted lives, community, belonging...). These categories were hermeneutically adopted within two ethnographic investigations, with the objective to study the formative responses of young people staying in a comunità per minori (children’s home) and the processes concerning the construction of their identity. The research process has closely examined the author’s thoughts, and, at the same time, endeavoured to understand and investigate specific formative contexts. Finally, this study aims to offer a reflection, which is central to the scholar’s work, on the theme of democracy and, predominantly, on the theme of the uncertain identity (individual or guardian?) of ontemporary man

The Author analyses certain problems concerning the transformation of styles in educational experience. Refering also to neuroscientific studies, more radical model of empaty, that enable the interpretation of historical change, are proposed

The Pedagogy of the Gift between treatment and complessity

    No full text
A variety of Anthropological studies characterising the conception of the gift consider it to be one the most interesting and evolved forms of exchange between humans and the social, natural and supernatural environment. In this article the author wishes to investigate to what extent there are representations of making gifts and exchanges in our society and how they can be linked to educational experience

Historic Climate in Heritage Building and Standard 15757: Proposal for a Common Nomenclature

    No full text
Research on the relationship between microclimate and heritage buildings or historic buildings has increased dramatically in the last few decades. Research has focused on indoor climate or indoor microclimate or the environment or micro-environment, and the field of these studies regards several variables, physical—air temperature, air speed, relative humidity—or chemical, dust, CO2, pollution, etc., all of which can have an effect or damage buildings or artifacts inside buildings. Moreover, all these variables should be monitored in a monitoring campaign following the standard EN 15757; in spite of this, scientific literature contains mistakes with regard to the words and objects of study. In this short contribution, the author proposes a common nomenclature in the research field of climate and microclimate in heritage buildings and heritage artifacts. A new nomenclature should be useful for the community of heritage scientists working on preventive measures to distinguish between climate and environment, or the object of study, e.g., the room (wall, wood structure, fresco, etc.) where the artifacts are or the air around them (painting, canvas, statue, piece of furniture, documents, books, etc.)

Portable electrochemical sensor for trace analysis of ciprofloxacin in water and pharmaceutical samples

    No full text
Trace-level monitoring of ciprofloxacin (CPRO) in aquatic environments is essential for managing antibiotic pollution and bacterial resistance. This study presents a cost-effective portable sensor that employs square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV) at an unmodified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) operated in acetate buffer. Detailed optimization tests were performed with the aim of finding the best parameters for this purpose. In particular, deposition time and frequency were tested and all the analytical performance were verified. River-water recoveries attained concentrations obtained by HPLC-MS/MS, HPLC-DAD, and UV/Vis methods. On-site measurements agreed with laboratory analyses, validating field applicability. The protocol also quantified a commercial eye-drop formulation demonstrating applicability of system to pharmaceutical excipients. Overall, the SWASV-GCE method provides a robust, low-cost method for rapid in-situ determination of ciprofloxacin in environmental waters and pharmaceutical matrices. Additionally, a green profile evaluation by means of the recent tools was also addressed and discussed

Essere madre tra bambole e rete: il caso delle Winx

The “Winx world”- made up of tv shows and cinema, dolls, and different gadgets- at the beginning was an Italian phenomenon. But now, because of its spread– in 131 Nations and about to widen in America- can be accounted as a multinational one. This paper deals with the behaviour of adults, educators and parents towards this phenomenon, through the analysis of participations posted on the internet forums and blogs. This analysis brings out different positions of cultural strictness and strong differences of pedagogical awareness. Through this complex analysis the author could find three dominant directions: the “apocalyctics”, who consider Winx phenomenon toxic and poisonous, something their children should be defended from in order to avoid educational and sociocultural corruption; the “conformers”, who consider the phenomenon just one of the many recreational and mediatic products without any dangerousness; the “dialectician” who see the phenomenon as something real and present in children daily universe and who think that a “critical balance” is the best way solve the problem. These different positions have been organized in a systematic and problematic proposal, with the aim of giving a picture of the possible educative interventions. The proposed model includes both preventive actions and alternative management of the problem. Preventive actions should be aimed to making children feeling comfortable, providing them with instrument of critical thinking and personal enterpreneurship. Alternative management instead could be focused on finding game modes different from that proposed by trade, with the aim of making the two typologies coexisting. The proposed actions refuse prohibitionist perspectives in order to encourage child’s critical and competent thinking, through game experiences which uderline his/her critical thinking

New Concept of Historical Indoor Microclimate - Learning From the Past for a More Sustainable Future

    No full text
AbstractHistorical architecture is a long time studied subject in Europe. We know building techniques, materials and problems linked to the decay about most of it, and even solution for the restoration project, depending on the goal of the restoration itself and the intended usage. A less studied aspect of Historical architecture is their historic microclimates: researches currently carried on in the Department of Architecture of Università di Bologna aim specifically to study this field of architecture, considering it highly relevant to accomplish the goals of any restoration intervention. Thanks to monitoring campaigns, we have data related to three distinct buildings, different in their construction times, typology, location and techniques used. These data show that historical microclimates guaranteed by these architectures are surprisingly overlapping to the parameters considered, nowadays, appropriate to conserve them and the historical patrimony they contain

Analytic quasinormal frequencies of the Casadio-Fabbri-Mazzacurati black hole

    No full text
We present analytic approximations for the quasinormal modes of scalar, Dirac, and electromagnetic perturbations of brane-world black holes, specifically those described by the widely-known Casadio-Fabbri-Mazzacurati (CFM) solution. We compare these analytical approximations with results obtained through time-domain integration and the 6th order WKB method with Padé approximants. Our analysis reveals that for >0\ell>0, the derived concise analytic expressions align well with the aforementioned computational methods. In the eikonal limit we show that the correspondence between the null geodesics and high frequency quasinormal modes holds. The obtained analytic formulas are further used to test the Hod's upper bound on the damping rate of the fundamental frequency. The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page.
