Dilip Kumar: autor-aktor
Dilip Kumar has been praised for his sublime dialog delivery, for his restrained gestures, and for his measured and controlled underplay of emotions in tragic stories as well as in light-hearted comedies. His debut in 1944 with Jwar Bhata (Ebb and Tide) met with less-than-flattering reviews. So did the next three films until his 1948 film, Jugnu (Firefly), which brought him recognition and success. Unlike his contemporaries such as Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand, who propelled their careers by launching their own production companies, Dilip Kumar relied on his talent, his unique approach to characterization, and his immersion in the projects he undertook. In the course of his career that spanned six decades, Kumar made only 62 films. However, his work is a textbook for other actors that followed. Not only did he bring respectability to a profession that had been shunned by the upper classes in India as a profession for “pimps and prostitutes,” but he also elevated film-acting and filmmaking to an academic discipline, making him worthy of the title ‘Professor Emeritus of Acting’. Rooted in the theoretical framework of Howard S. Becker’s work on the “production of culture” and “doing things together,” this paper discusses Kumar’s approach to acting, character development, and the level of his involvement and commitment to each of his projects. The author of this article argues that more than the creative control as a producer or a director, it is the artistic involvement and commitment of the main actors that shape great works of art in cinema. ESTABLISHMENT OF STANDARD TIME IN DIFFERENT SECTIONS/ DEPARTMENTS OF A LARGE HEAVY ENGINEERING INDUSTRY
To establish the standard time work measurement techniques are applied. First of all the actual time taken in completing the job or desired task is noted down. This time is called the Observed time. Then we rate the worker under performance rating scale. Including this rating we calculate the Normal time. Adding the allowances to the normal time we establish the Standard time for the job under study
R-parity violating supersymmetry at IceCube
AbstractThe presence of R-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetric interactions involving high-energy neutrinos can lead to resonant production of TeV-scale squarks inside large-volume neutrino detectors. Using the ultra-high energy neutrino events observed recently at the IceCube, with the fact that for a given power-law flux of astrophysical neutrinos, there is no statistically significant deviation in the current data from the Standard Model expectations, we derive robust upper limits on the RPV couplings as a function of the resonantly-produced squark mass, independent of the other unknown model parameters, as long as the squarks decay dominantly to 2-body final states involving leptons and quarks through the RPV couplings. With more statistics, we expect these limits to be comparable/complementary to the existing limits from direct collider searches and other low-energy processes
Estimation of Joint Torque and Power Consumption During Sit-to-Stand Motion of Human-being Using a Genetic Algorithm
AbstractA model of human lower limb along with body has been drawn having a presumed body height and body mass index. Different ranges of joint angles of human legs and body have been taken to simulate the sit-to-stand motion. The kinematic analysis is done by varying joint angles over time. The dynamic studies have been carried out for different joints. Torque and power consumption have been calculated. Using a genetic algorithm, optimal solutions for joint torque and power consumption have been obtained. The dynamic balance of human body system during sit-to-stand motion has also been maintained while carrying out the optimization. Another attempt has been made in order to get optimum torque and power consumption in minimum time by treating it as a multi-objective optimization problem. Thus, a Pareto-optimal front of solutions has been obtained
