Russell" in two typed copies. One copy (14 leaves) is single spaced and fairly complete, the second copy is double-spaced (77 leaves) but is incomplete. Includes mention of his brief schooling, his first job as a steamboat pilot, working as a hired man in Missouri, his wedding, teaching Indians not to steal his wood, birth of his first daughter, boat piloting experiences on the Mississippi River and the Saskatchewan River, traveling from Winnipeg to the Northwest Territory and from Edmonton, Alberta to Lake Winnipeg.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textTeaching and learning with digital technologies is a complex matter in today’s P-12 classrooms. As we continue to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers must make sense of the shifting landscape of what daily teaching and learning looks like, considering matters of accessibility, authenticity, and real-world connectedness. Being literate is more nuanced and multifaceted with consideration for digital literacies and literacies across different, yet interconnected, academic disciplines. What is means to ‘know’ and ‘learn’ is being redefined in real time as generative artificial intelligence development and uptake across seemingly all sectors of our global society progresses. I am pleased to share the results of my students’ review of current literature and discourse focused on issues and topics that align with their specific teacher education programs of study. For this firsti ssue of Digital Touchpoints, a total of 23 students elected to publish their work, which has been organized in two thematic sections.Section 1, titled “Praxis,” includes works focused on matters of digital pedagogy and classroom practice, while Section 2, “Intent,” features works that dig into the ethics, philosophies, and policies that undergird technology integration. -- Dr. Aaron R.
