No full textBarbara Arata-Gavere interviewed by Karen Trivette.As a New York-based fashion designer, Ms. Arata-Gavere began her career designing special occasion dresses for high-end boutiques. Currently, under her own label, Barbarata Exclusive, she designs and constructs custom-tailored jackets and stage wear for performers, such as Daryl Hooper of The Seeds.Ms. Arata-Gavere has uniquely combined her design skills with a very impressive career in education. First, as an instructor at Bergen County Technical Schools (New Jersey) for 29 years, where she received several awards, including Teacher of the Year and as an FCCLA Chapter Advisor, creating their first Fashion Design Competition.Ms. Arata-Gavere's textbook, Exploring Fashion Design, published by the Curriculum Lab at Rutgers University, has been extensively used by vocational schools throughout New Jersey.For the last 18 years, Ms. Arata-Gavere has been an Adjunct Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology where, in the fashion department, she teaches a variety of classes including, draping and construction.Ms. Arata-Gavere is also the founder of Fashion Design Workshop, where she conducts various skill-based fashion workshops for high school and college students. She has recently joined the faculty at Bergen Community College's Continuing Education Department.In addition, Barbara Arata-Gavere often exhibits her custom fashion designs in various museums in New York City and New Jersey

Il contributo specifico ne prende in considerazione la produzione architettonica analizzandone le esperienze più significative in tre ambiti privilegiati: Milano, Emilia, Napoli. La figura di Giulio Ulisse Arata, architetto fino ad oggi poco noto, è messa in relazione parallela con quella di Marcello Piacentini; un confronto significativo dal quale si deduce la "marginalità" politica, ma non professionale né in senso lato culturale, di Arata, del quale vengono rilette esperienze di interventi consapevoli all'interno delle città storiche: sia con inserimenti di nuove architetture, sia come veri e propri progetti di restauro e di riqualificazione ambientale

ARATA’s response to the NDIA’s assistive technology discussion paper
Full text linkThe Australian Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Association (ARATA) responds to the NDIA’s AT Discussion Paper, and advocates that roles for all stakeholders must be considered.
•
Summary of ARATA\u27s key recommendations arising from the Discussion Paper:
1. Evaluate outcomes from AT provision in trial sites and other systems to inform in the development of procurement and service delivery policy, consumer supports, and continuing professional development.
2. Support practitioners and researchers to validate existing AT service models for use in Australia.
3. Assist ARATA and other key stakeholders to develop a national accreditation system for AT practitioners and suppliers.
4. Investigate and document the roles, activities, and scope of practice of suppliers and peer mentors in AT service delivery, and associated outcomes for AT users.
5. Ensure the coupling of AT devices with appropriate soft technology support for device selection, implementation and review.
6. Investigate the efficacy and potential expansion of existing peer and consumer networking channels.
7. Support research into consumer use of information and decision-making in AT provision.
8. Fund independent AT information services and explore options for facilitating consumer ratings of products and services.
9. Identify AT products not yet available on the Australian market.
10. Fund research into AT development and commercialisation in Australia.
