Scaling up the new format of the UEFA women's Champions League
The aim of the case is to lead participants to define future UEFA Women's Champions League marketing strategies in order to increase the revenue streams. In this case there are the descriptions of the most important revenue streams in Women's Football with a focus on strengths and weaknesses: fans, broadcasters, sponsors, merchandising, eSports, ticketing and betting partners with a special focus on UEFA Women's Champions League (new and old formats and current status of revenue streams). Once the features of UEFA Women's Champions League and all the revenue streams have been described, the participants have a clear idea of how UEFA Women's Champions League and the Women's Football works, especially in Europe. With all the information available on this topic, the participants will be asked to play the role of the UEFA Marketing Manager and her team and design the best Marketing Canvas model to implement in order to grow the revenue streams of the UEFA Women's Champion League. This case is a contemporary one that is based on the decision to change the format of the competition starting from 2021. At this time there is no best practice for the case in question; any development of the revenue streams due to marketing will be evaluated in the coming years
The development of the OTT BROADCASTERS in the sports market: the SKY SPORT and DAZN cases
The aim of the case is to the describe the OTT Sports Ecosystem, including: its features, its growth and success, the relationship with Pay-TV and the future developments. To switch from theory to practice and to better understand the current ecosystem we have used two different examples: 1) Sky Sport (Pay-TV with two OTT platforms); and 2) DAZN (Only Sports OTT Player). The two cases of this document contain this type of information: Broadcaster's history; Company Organization; Market Presence; Owned TV Rights; Economic Structure; and Future Strategy. Once the two cases have been described, the student has a clear idea of how the sports television market works from a classical (Pay-TV) and a digital (OTT) point of view. The student can also think about how the OTT world is changing the common fruition of contents also in the sports world and the future possibi-lities of digital fruition. The student will also be asked, on the basis of the information collected in the case, to play the role of Lega Serie A CEO in Italy and choose the best offer for domestic television rights of the three-year period 2021/2024
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

X-ray spectroscopic characterization of shock-ignition-relevant plasmas
Experiments with multilayer plastic/Cu targets performed at a PALS laser system aimed at the study of matter at conditions relevant to a shock ignition ICF scheme, and, in particular, at the investigation of hot electrons generation. Plasma temperature and density were obtained using high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy. 2D-spatially resolved quasi-monochromatic imaging was observing the hot electrons via fluorescence Kα emission in the copper tracer layer. Found values of plasma temperature 690 ± 10 eV, electron density 3 × 1022 cm-3 and the effective energy of hot electrons 45 ± 20 keV demonstrate the potential of X-ray methods in the characterization of the shock ignition environmental conditions
