Ralph Anderson, Jr.
Ralph Anderson, Jr., in shirtsleeves and tie, leaning over a desk and gazing off camera, holding a ruler in his right hand. Rice Institute and worked as an architect in Houston, Texas, eventually becoming president of the Wilson, Morris and Crain architectural firm. Original resource is a black and white photograph.Ralph Anderson, Jr graduated from Rice Institute in 1943 with a B.A. degree in Architecture. While at Rice, he won The American Institute of Architecture Student Medal, and was the first architectural student at the university to be elected to Phi Beta Kappa, a national honorary fraternity. He returned to Rice after serving in World War II and received a B. S. degree in Architecture in 1947

The John Wesley Anderson Jr. Papers consist of material collected by the prominent Rock Hill Anderson Family predominantly of Rock Hill, SC. John Wesley Anderson Jr. was a Winthrop Training School Graduate (Class of 1933) and was the grandson of John Gary Anderson who was one the founders of the Anderson Buggy Company which later became the Anderson Motor Company. The Anderson House on Oakland Avenue in Rock Hill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The collection includes letters received from family and friends, personal diaries, newspaper clippings, and military manuals: graphs, worksheets and textbook from World War II. Anderson attended Coast Artillery School.
