In a competitive environment marked by the internationalization of the higher education sector, student satisfaction is a subject that generates several debates, so many researchers have taken an interest in the subject. Our research study the impact of SERVQUAL elements on the satisfaction of foreign students in private medical schools in Morocco. The interest in placing the notion of quality at the center of our research is not based on a random choice, but refers to several factors, in particular the main orientations of the Bologna cycle and the conclusions of UNESCO which place the student at the center of the quality approach in the higher education sector. Following a literature review related to the impact of the quality of services (according to the SERVQUAL model) on student satisfaction, a survey conducted among students in higher education institutions enrolled in medicine in the UIASS and UM6SS , our research has allowed to test a number of hypotheses. We selected a convenience sample of 130 students who responded to our questionnaire. The results of our study based on a quantitative study following the post-positivist current, we concluded that the dimensions "Tangible elements", "Reliability", "Responsiveness", "Assurance" impact the satisfaction of students in Moroccan higher education institutions . Finally, our research  has shown that the quality of services of higher education institutions impacts the satisfaction of international students in the context of Moroccan private higher education.

The potential role of vitamin D supplementation as a gut microbiota modifier in healthy individuals

Vitamin D deficiency affects approximately 80% of individuals in some countries and has been linked with gut dysbiosis and inflammation. While the benefits of vitamin D supplementation on the gut microbiota have been studied in patients with chronic diseases, its effects on the microbiota of otherwise healthy individuals is unclear. Moreover, whether effects on the microbiota can explain some of the marked inter-individual variation in responsiveness to vitamin D supplementation is unknown. Here, we administered vitamin D to 80 otherwise healthy vitamin D-deficient women, measuring serum 25(OH) D levels in blood and characterizing their gut microbiota pre- and post- supplementation using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Vitamin D supplementation significantly increased gut microbial diversity. Specifically, the Bacteroidetes to Firmicutes ratio increased, along with the abundance of the health-promoting probiotic taxa Akkermansia and Bifidobacterium. Significant variations in the two-dominant genera, Bacteroides and Prevotella, indicated a variation in enterotypes following supplementation. Comparing supplementation responders and non-responders we found more pronounced changes in abundance of major phyla in responders, and a significant decrease in Bacteroides acidifaciens in non-responders. Altogether, our study highlights the positive impact of vitamin D supplementation on the gut microbiota and the potential for the microbial gut signature to affect vitamin D response. 2020, The Author(s).Scopu

Double differential cross section for the single ionization of methane molecule by swift proton projectile

    No full text
In the present work, the single ionization of methane molecule is studied. The double differential cross section for the ejected electron is considered. The target is ionized by the effect of perturbation created by proton impact coming with high incident velocity. In our theoretical formalism, the one Coulomb wave model is employed in the framework of the first Born approximation, which means that, the final state is considered as a product of a plane wave function for the scattered heavy particle and a Coulomb wave function for the ejected electron. The initial state is a product of a plane wave function for the fast incident charge and wave functions centered over the heavy nuclei to describe the active electron. In our formalism, the one Coulomb wave model is corrected by Salin factor to take into account the effect of the electron transfer to the continuum. The obtained results are compared to the available experimental data. The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page. Correction to: Nature Genetics, published online 13 March 2023. In the version of the article initially published, the sample sizes in the main text and Supplementary Tables 1 and 2 were incorrect. In the abstract, the last paragraph of the Introduction, the first paragraph of the Results, the top box in Figure 1a and the Supplementary Information, the total sample size has been corrected from 580,869 to 588,452 participants and the size of the European cohort from 468,062 to 475,645. Some of the effect sizes in Supplementary Table 14 (columns W, Z, AC, AF) had the wrong sign. There was also an error in Supplementary Table 3 where the sample size instead of the variant count was shown for EXCEED. The errors do not affect the conclusions of the study. Additionally, two acknowledgments for use of INTERVAL pQTL and Lung eQTL consortium data were omitted from the Supplementary Information. These errors have been corrected in the Supplementary Information and HTML and PDF versions of the article
