Fanfani al Ministero del Lavoro (1947-1950): lotta alla disoccupazione e regolazione pubblica

    No full text
The essay deals with Amintore Fanfani’s activities as Minister or Labour and social welfare from 1947 to 1950, within the first centrist governments. The author examines the background of organization and legislation about public service of work placement, as well as the consultations and discussions that finally led to the controversial Italian Law no. 264 passed in 1949. It established some changes about starting employment and employment assistance for involuntary unemployed workers. This bill, which Fanfani was strongly in favour of, is often negatively stereotyped, ignoring that it was passed due to a compromise with the leftist parties. More in general, the essay highlights that the young politician, who came from the lecture rooms as a professor, left a dynamic mark on the Ministry of Labour and the employment and labor policies. The contribution has been originally published in "Bollettino dell'Archivio per la storia del movimento sociale cattolico in Italia", 2011 (1-2)

Participative Agri-Food Projects in the Urban Bioregion of the Vega of Granada (Spain)

    No full text
The Vega of Granada is a traditional peri-urban agricultural bioregion that includes important environmental and heritage values. As it belongs to the urban agglomeration of Granada, the agricultural land has been affected by the urban sprawl and other impacts of the contemporary metropolitan model. The strategic position of this fertile land and the growing interes in local and organic food products give an opportunity to the Vega of Granada to recover the basic role that it played before the new trends imposed by the global food system. Following to a bioregional approach, this chapter explains some of the participative processes that were activated to develop the alternative food system, mainly considering the use of short food supply chains to distribute and sell the agricultural products of the Vega of Granada. The success of some of those activities and the increase in the consumption of local products demonstrate the importance of participation as a key question in relocalising the food systems and increase the resilience of the peri-urban agricultural land.Depto. de GeografíaFac. de Geografía e HistoriaTRUEpu
