On the Production Function for Italy
No full textIn this paper, we assess the ability of the Cobb-Douglas framework to match the empirical evidence for Italy. While the growth accounting approach requires the validity of this functional form and of its parameters, we conduct econometric analysis on a panel of regions for the years 2000-2006 and suggest (i) an alternative specification and (ii) a twofold time series data construction, under which the Cobb-Douglas framework appears to yield the most credible and well-specified formulation of the Italian production function

No full textRIASSUNTO: Il contributo propone una riflessione sul mutamento di ruolo del santuario lauretano nel tempo. Ricostruisce i processi identitari, i significati culturali e religiosi che, dalle origini e per tutta l'età moderna lo hanno connotato come presidio del cattolicesimo nel contesto euro-mediterraneo associandolo conseguentemente a specifiche forme di organizzazione e difesa territoriale, per consegnarlo alla contemporaneità quale polo dell'ecumenismo e del confronto interreligioso. La struttura architettonica di santuario fortificato che lo contraddistingue attesta il ruolo avuto di baluardo opposto al dilagare dell’Islam. La Controriforma diffonde la devozione lauretana e moltiplica i luoghi di culto della Santa Casa nelle aree di frontiera contro il dilagare del protestantesimo. Le narrazioni oppositive consegnateci dai viaggiatori del Grand Tour aggiungono elementi di disamina critica del fattore religioso nell'organizzazione territoriale mediata dal santuario e dal culto cui è associato. Realizzata l’Unità d’Italia, Loreto è al centro dei rapporti tra Stato e Chiesa, e entra nella diretta amministrazione della Santa Sede. Oggi Loreto continua a connotarsi quale meta di pellegrinaggi e di turismo religioso ma, dal 1995, acquista la fisionomia nuova di santuario d’EurHope e d’EurHome, luogo del dialogo interreligioso, di un'Europa accogliente, solidale, sostenitrice della pace globale.SUMMARY: Loreto: from a European sanctuary to a EurHope and EurHome sanctuary.
The contribution proposes a reflection on the changing role of the Loreto sanctuary over time. It reconstructs the identity processes, the cultural and religious meanings which, from its origins and throughout the modern age, have characterized it as a garrison of Catholicism in the Euro-Mediterranean context, consequently associating it with specific forms of organization and territorial defense, to deliver it to the contemporary world as a pole of ecumenism and interreligious comparison. The architectural structure of a fortified sanctuary that distinguishes it attests to its role as a bulwark against the spread of Islam. The Counter-Reformation spreads Loreto devotion and multiplies the places of worship of the Holy House in the border areas against the spread of Protestantism. The opposing narratives delivered to us by the Grand Tour travelers add elements of critical examination of the religious factor in the territorial organization mediated by the sanctuary and the cult with which it is associated. Once the Unification of Italy was achieved, Loreto was at the center of relations between State and Church, and entered the direct administration of the Holy See. Today Loreto continues to be a destination for pilgrimages and religious tourism but, since 1995, it has acquired the new physiognomy of a EurHope and EurHome sanctuary, a place of interreligious dialogue, of a welcoming, supportive Europe of global peace
