No full textIn an attempt to identify and reconfigure a musical paradigm of educational nature or
otherwise concerning childhood, the great composer Robert Schumann becomes an unavoidable
starting point. In his work childhood enters, exits, returns, reappears to strengthen as the key
feature of a latent musical discourse that, while it interests us as the ‘description’ of childhood,
on the other hand it excites us for the bi-directionality that we can feel inside: while Schumann
becomes an impressionist of images of childhood (and just think of the Album for the Young), in
the meantime he draws a direction of a methodological-educational kind that coexists with the
need, relentless and never concealed, to narrate; to tell stories through his music, without relying
on written text but, often, reminding it through evocative and effective instrumental transpositions. The ‘suitable’ childhood images, those that ‘tell’ childhood, a certain gradation of both a
semantically extra-musical content and of technical difficulty, are the elements that structure a
process that, from the Album for the Young, passing through the Scenes from Childhood and
connecting to the masterpieces of literature-music transposition such as Kreisleriana (from ETA
Hoffmann), puts in close connection music, literature, childhood and artistic / musical training.
The lesson concert on Schumann is as a theoretical proposal (addressed to scholars and colleagues), a methodological guide (to teachers) and a practical educational guide to listening and
learning (for students of academies and schools of music). The conclusions derived from an analysis conducted on so few works by Schumann underline the role of the author as a point of reference considering his interdisciplinary approach that must be identified as a primary reference in
music, literature and art education of the new generations

No full textThe early perception of music, and particularly of the constituent elements of it such as
melody, harmony and chords, is already noticeable at the age of 4-6 months. The emotional response to a chord change (from consonant to dissonant), the perceptual discrimination caused
by a new melody or a clear rhythmic variation have an immediate reverberation in the infantile
mind and are the first act of a recognizable fruition as regards a code-language that children
perceive (Aslin and Hunt: Development, plasticity, and learning in the auditory system, 2001).
This is the theoretical basis for exploring the psychological and aesthetic relationships
between the art of sound (music) and the art of signifying sound (literature). The connections
between music/sound and literature for the child are strengthened by hearing narrated stories
which the child learns to decode and understand meanings and significance which enrich their
experience of the world around them. This is when a relationship is established between the
childhood dimension and musical breadth, which enriches the scope of multifaceted childhood
language and reveals childhood to be an age of spontaneous, free, and innocent artistic expression.
Hoffmann, Schumann (for example Album for the Young, Scenes from Childhood, Kreisleriana), Hugo, Liszt, Schelling, Franck, are just some of the writers and the musicians, from the
nineteenth century onwards, that allow us to look at the relationship between literature and
music as the keystone of a more complex codification of childhood languages that must be reinterpreted today considering this linguistic and artistic comparison

No full textIl volume esamina due emblematiche rappresentazioni letterarie dell'infanzia, entrambe riferibili al difficile contesto del meridione d'Italia, luogo dove sembra più urgente - soprattutto nei disorientati tempi che viviamo - la necessità di riconfigurare l'orizzonte valoriale delle giovani generazioni. Bambini e ragazzi si scoprono - da sempre - 'impreparati' di fronte all'ardua scelta che, troppo spesso, li vede propendere per deviazioni, sprezzo di norme e legalità, rifiuto dello Stato e della legge; fino alla deriva verso una sorta di realtà smarrita e alternativa che inghiotte storie e coscienze, anime e infanzie; tra delinquenza, immoralità e malavita.
Lo sguardo pedagogico prende in analisi, quindi, l'infanzia 'narrata' come paradigma dell'interruzione di senso: le storie che, a distanza di secoli, ci donano autori come Biagio Miraglia (tra caverne e bande di briganti) e Roberto Saviano (tra vele e paranze di bambini) diventano amaro resoconto di uno spaccato del nostro violento vivere quotidiano. Si tratta di una letteratura che, a ben vedere, 'fa' pedagogia, perché pone sul piano culturale un'emergenza di natura sociale ed esistenziale. E richiama con forza ad un maggiore senso di responsabilità nei confronti di generazioni fanciulle che non dovremmo mai più lasciare alla mercé di bande e paranze

For this purpose two complementary yet dis-tinct research directions will be followed , also considering the great number of solicitations these texts offer. No full textLa rappresentazione letteraria dell'infanzia passa, inevitabilmente, anche attraverso la storia delle attitudini comportamentali dei protagonisti di romanzi, fiabe e racconti; e, di conseguenza, attraverso la capacità 'ritrattistica' di autori che hanno saputo, in epoche e luoghi diversi, delineare profili psicologici di grande efficacia e di disarmante attendibilità. La grande letteratura che, finalmente, intercetta l'età infantile (e giovanile) sembra reggersi grazie ad un impalpabile quanto resistente trait d'union basato su alcune costanti: la fragilità di proponimenti e promesse, la labilità di posizioni apparentemente inscalfibili, la scoperta della felice realtà dell'essenza fanciulla, imprevedibile ed incantata. Alla narrazione avventurosa europea - con personaggi come Robinson - arriva, con significativo ritardo, una risposta italiana che sostanzia nel topos della promessa disattesa la grande macchina narrativa avente come protagonisti bambini, ragazzi e burattini; e giunge fino a Collodi, capace di elaborare un identikit di ardito equilibrio, in costante oscillazione tra rettitudine e deviazione, obbedienza e trasgressione. L'inversione comportamentale causata, di volta in volta, dalle tentazioni, dagli errori, dagli accidenti circostanti, o soltanto dalla meravigliosa incoerenza fanciulla, diviene leitmotiv che attraversa secoli e nazioni, suscitando interesse e simpatia e rivelando la perspicace visione d'insieme che alcuni grandi scrittori hanno saputo avere dell'universo infantile.The literary representation of childhood inevitably goes through the history of the behavioral attitudes of the protagonists of novels, fairy tales and stories; and, consequently, through the ability portraits of artists who have been able, in different times and places, to delineate psychological profiles of highly effective and disarming reliability. The vast literature that finally catches the childhood (and youth ) seems to stand thanks to an impalpable as resistant trait d'union based on some constants: the fragility of intentions and promises, the lability of seemingly unassailable positions, the discovery of happy-girl reality of the essence , unpredictable and magical. The adventurous European narrative - with characters like Robinson - comes with significant delay, a response that substantiates the topos of empty promise the great narrative machine having as protagonists, children, young people and puppets, and reaches up to Collodi, able to draw an identikit of bold balance, in constant oscillation between righteousness and deviation, obedience and transgression. The reversal behavior caused, from time to time, by temptations, mistakes, by the accidents surrounding, or only from the wonderful inconsistency girl, becomes the leitmotif that runs through the centuries and nations, arousing interest and sympathy, revealing the insightful overview that some great writers have been able to have about the childhood universe

connette alla 'rete' dell'assuefazione e si disconnette da
una narrazione di senso eticamente consapevole? Cronaca
- spesso nera e violenta - e racconto si intrecciano in uno
scenario che vede in costante aumento la 'discronia' tra
evoluzione tecnologica e capacità, di bambini, ragazzi e
uomini, di stare 'interiormente' al passo: una sorta di jet
lag delle coscienze, senza emozioni e riflessioni.
Su questo asse sottile, teoreticamente fragile quanto essenziale,
si regge una riflessione che mette insieme la ricostruzione
artistico-letteraria del tessuto emotivo-sociale
degli uomini, l'analisi della situazione di deriva attuale e
la possibilità di recuperare un reticolo emozionale a supporto
della formazione delle nuove generazioni.What educational horizons remain in a society which

an ethically aware narration? News stories- often criminal
and violent-and narra-tion interweave in a scenario
which is witness to a constant increase in the gap between
technologi-cal evolution and the capacity, of children,
young people, and adults, to keep up with it. It is
a sort of "jet lag" of conscience, without emotions or
reflection. On this thin axis, theoretically fragile, but
essential, rests our consideration which examines together
an artistic and literary reconstruction of the emotional
and social fabric of society, an analysis of the current
disastrous situation, and the possibility to recover an
emotional network to support the education of new generations

del sistema educativo di Don Bosco. L’oratorio, contesto di
formazione ‘vivo’ e giovane, scopre nella musica l’essenza stessa
della condivisione e della possibilità di crescere insieme. Nelle parole
del santo la musica diviene l’anima dell’oratorio stesso, e si
configura quale arte capace di veicolare, al contempo, socializzazione,
studio, ascesi. Dalla sacralità alla ‘pratica del suono’, dal professionismo
alla musica d’insieme, l’«atto d’amore» che viene declinato
mediante l’arte musicale si rivela centrale ed insostituibile
nella visione di crescita e ‘compimento’ esistenziale del grande intellettuale

finds in music the essence of sharing and the possibility of growing
