DAKWAH REVOLUSIONER MUHAMMAD BIN ABD AL-WAHHAB UNTUK PEMURNIAN AJARAN ISLAM
Abstrak: Pada kurun waktu abad ke 18 M peradaban Islam sedang mengalami stagnasi, kejumudan dan bahkan kemunduran. Umat Islam banyak yang melakukan bidah dan khurafat, suatu perbuatan yang menyimpang dari Aqidah Islam. Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab mencoba dengan kreativitas pemikirannya membedah persoalan tersebut melalui ide-idenya untuk memurnikan akidah umat Islam yang telah menyimpang dari ajaran tauhid. Tulisan ini memapaparkan apa sebenarnya yang dilakukan oleh Muhhamad bin Abd al-Wahhab dalam melakukan dakwah untuk meluruskan akidah umat yang telah menyimpang tersebut, dan bagaimana sebenarnya pemahaman serta respon para pengikut Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab terhadap ajaran/paham yang dianut oleh Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab dalam melakukan dakwah tersebut, karena Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab sendiri dalam melakukan dakwahnya ternyata tidak pernah seradikal para pengikutnya.Kata-kata Kunci : Muhhamd bin Abd al-Wahhab, Gerakan Wahabiyyah, purifikasi Islam, gerakan fundamentalisme, dakwah revolusioner

Syaikh Muhammad bin Abd Al-Wahhab dan Kaitannya dengan Isu Takfir
Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab, a conservative theologian and ideologue of the Wahhabi movement in the Arabian Peninsula in the early nineteenth century, is often associated with extreme attitudes on the issue of takfir (disbelieve). However, the validity of the allegation against him is still regarded as a polemic that has not been settled. This article attempts to highlight the issue of takfir related to Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab to identify the truth of the allegations and it’s accountablilty. This qualitative study uses a variety of primary and secondary sources to analyze the the issue. The results showed that the attitude of takfir (disbelieve) related to Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab against some of the Islamic scholars who were being contrary to his believe, would be difficult to deny. This is because most of his statement regarded to the issue derived originally from various his own treatises and books. The study also concluded that his thought on the issue is abviously contrary to the Islamic point of views which is always call for unity of Muslims, tolerance and moderation in what ever matter concerning ijtihad (independent reasoning). Thus, it is believed that the flow of his thought is not practicable to Islamic contemporary society today.Keywords: Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab, Wahhabi movement, takfir, shirk, bid`ah Abstrak Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab, iaitu tokoh reformis Islam yang mengasaskan Gerakan Wahabi di Semenanjung Tanah Arab pada pertengahan kurun 19 Masehi, sering dikaitkan dengan sikap melampau dalam isu takfir. Walau bagaimanapun, sejauh manakah keabsahan dakwaan tersebut terhadap beliau masih menjadi suatu polemik yang belum selesai. Artikel ini cuba mengetengahkan isu takfir yang dikaitkan dengan Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab untuk mengenal pasti sejauh mana kebenaran pandangan tersebut dan ia boleh dipertanggungjawabkan. Kajian kualitatif ini menggunakan pelbagai sumber primer dan sekunder bagi menganalisis kandungan isu kajian yang dijalankan. Hasil kajian mendapati dakwaan sikap melampau Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab mentakfirkan segolongan para ulama yang tidak sehaluan dengan pemikiran akidah beliau adalah sukar untuk dinafikan. Ini adalah kerana kebanyakan kenyataan beliau dalam isu takfir disorot daripada pelbagai karya dan risalah tulisan beliau sendiri. Kajian juga turut merumuskan bahawa pemikiran takfir ditonjolkan beliau adalah suatu perkara kontradik dengan gagasan metodologi pemikiran Islam yang sentiasa menyeru kepada kesatuan umat, sikap bertolak ansur dan kesederhanaan dalam perkara ijtihad. al-Misbāh fī al-Nahw By Nāsir al-Dīn al-Mutarrizī al-Nahwī (d. 610/1213) A Critical Edition of the Text with the Life History of the Author
Nāsir al-Dīn al-Mutarrizī al-Nahwī (d.610/1213) was one of the most renowned figures in the field of Arabic Grammar. He has left an indelible mark on the world of Arabic language and literature. He is also known as the successor of al-Zamakhsharī.
He wrote a number of books but his al-Misbāh fī al-Nahw gained prominence at a level that no other book in this field could claim to achieve. For this reason, a great number of commentaries have been written in every age, of which the most famous are al-Daw and Khulāsat al-I‘rāb written by Tāj al-Dīn al-Isfrā’īnī and ‘Abd al- Karīm al-Tūsī (better known as Hājjī Bābā) respectively. Moreover, its translation into other languages also demonstrates its value as a useful book.
Although al-Misbāh has been edited on more than one occasion, the published editions do not fulfil the needs and requirements of modern academic research criteria. The basic aim of this thesis is to present this book with a current modern research style so that the students, teachers and ordinary readers of Arabic language and literature may benefit from this work.
This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the life history of the author and his other works. A brief note of the environment under which he grew up (generally referred to as the ‘Seljuk’ period) is also included in this part.
The second part consists of a text edition that deals with the derivation (Takhrīj) of syntactical issues together with the differing opinions of grammarians on syntactical/grammatical issues. This part also proffers the idiomatic English translation of al-Misbāh
Ibn Abd al-Wahhab and his economic ideas
In an attempt to investigate Muslim economic thinking in the 12th century Hijrah, corresponding 18th century AD, the present paper explores economic ideas of one of the greatest Muslim personalities of the period, Muhammad b. Abd al-Wahhab (1115-1206/1703-1792), who is commonly known as revivalist and renovator of religious beliefs and practices. The paper discovers that he had deep insights in financial matters who managed the public finance of the first Saudi State.1 At the outset, to provide a background knowledge of the personality of Ibn Abd al-Wahhab, the paper sheds light on time and environment in which he lived, his life and work, and his impact. The paper is an initiative that aims to fillip research into unexplored areas. Hadaéq al-Menara
The Menara Gardens in Marrakech date back to the Almohad Dynasty that ruled Morocco most of North Africa and Spain from around 1130 to the beginning of the 13th century. The Marinid and Sa'di Dynasties both left their mark on the garden. The garden is composed largely of olive, cypress and fruit trees. It is watered by Sahrij al-Menara, a large reservoir that collects water from the surrounding mountains via channels build by the Almoravid Caliph 'Ali bin Yusuf (reg. 1107-1142).
At the edge of the reservoir sits the two-story Maa'lamat al-Menara, literally the Menara Landmark but known in English as the Menara Pavilion. It and the reservoir are among the most photographed attractions in Morocco. A Cross Examination of Sayyid Qutb and Muhammad Ibn Abd Al-Wahhab
This thesis is a cross examination of the life and writings of Sayyid Qutb and Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab. The main thesis argues that both Qutb and Ibn Abd al-Wahhab largely interpreted Islamic doctrines in light of their own relevant political issues. Through the process of legitimating their political struggles through Islamic texts they distorted the image of Islam to suit their own purposes. The paper tries to assert the relationship between the religious interpretation of these two Islamic scholars and compare them based on the critical analysis of relevant scholarship. The conclusion of this thesis, in accordance with this view, is that Islam does not advocate compulsion in religion and that militant religious extremists like Qutb and Ibn Abd al-Wahhab have used the teachings of Islam to further their own political agendas, rather than apply a profoundly insightful interpretation of the sacred texts. The final goal of this thesis is to advocate an increased awareness and renewed dialogue between the spiritual aspects of Islam versus the political or legal aspects of Islam
Al-Sharif Al-Radi: His Life and Poetry
The aim of this work is to study al-Sharif al-Radl, his life and poetry. The first part deals with the poet’s environment and life; the second with his poetry. Chapter I deals with the political conditions under which the poet lived. The purpose of the second chapter is to portray Al-Radl's social environment and its reflection in contemporary poetry. The third chapter describes the literary environment of Al-Radl's age at some length. The fourth chapter aims to study Al-Radl's life in detail. The factors which influenced his outlook and personality are discussed. An attempt is made to discern how far these factors affected his poetry. The second part of this work deals with Al-Radl's poetry itself. In Chapter V historical observations are made on Al-Radl's Diwan o in both manuscript and published forms. Chapter VI deals with his panegyrics. General remarks are made on eulogy in Arabic poetry. The content, form and development of Al-Radl's panegyrical odes are analysed. His Ikhwaniyyat receive special attention. Chapter VII deals with Al-Radl's self-praise its content and form. An endeavour is made to explore the Utopian world which the poet tried to portray, Al-Radl's elegies (Ch. VIII). their content, form and characteristics are reviewed. In addition, his dirges on women receive attention. Shi ism in Al-Radl’s poetry is discussed in Chapter IX, Al-Radl’s love-poetry (Ch. X) is discussed. His Hijaziyyat receive particular attention. It is claimed that Al-Radl’s produced in his Hijaaiyyat a poetical amalgam which contains some aspects of ‘Udhrite and ’Umarite poetry. Chapter II deals with Al-Radl's poetical technique. His theories of poetical composition and his comments on other poets are examined. A comparison is made between Al-Radl and other poets both previous and contemporary. Special attention is paid to al-Mutanabbi's influence. In Chapter XII there is a broad re-assessment of Al-Radl’s place in the history of Arabic poetry
