Entropy of TT-sums and TT-products of LL-RR fuzzy numbers

    No full text
summary:In the paper the entropy of LLRR fuzzy numbers is studied. It is shown that for a given norm function, the computation of the entropy of LLRR fuzzy numbers reduces to using a simple formula which depends only on the spreads and shape functions of incoming numbers. In detail the entropy of TMT_M–sums and TMT_M–products of LLRR fuzzy numbers is investigated. It is shown that the resulting entropy can be computed only by means of the entropy of incoming fuzzy numbers or by means of their parameters without the computation of membership functions of corresponding sums or products. Moreover, the results for some other tt-norm–based sums and products are derived. Several examples are included

Validation of a pseudo 2D analytical model for high temperature PEM fuel cell impedance valid at typical operative conditions

High temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (HT-PEMFC)are a promising technology for carbon-free, combined heat and power generation. Analytical impedance models have the potential to support the creation of effective control logics with short response time. In this work an exact pseudo 2D model for HT-PEMFC impedance is developed, in which the anode has been neglected. The model considers losses due to kinetics and oxygen transport across the gas diffusion layer. Moreover, the cathode catalyst layer is assumed totally flooded and an additional oxygen transport loss is attributed to diffusion inside spherical agglomerates with a simplified approach. The model is tested against experiments on HT-PEMFC at different cathode stoichiometries, oxygen molar concentrations, and current densities. A simple fitting procedure is described to use the model. Moreover, sensitivity analysis is performed to assess the contribution of the physical phenomena to impedance spectra. Finally, the effect of the channel at different stoichiometries is discussed and a zero-frequency resistance is derived

Analysis of the small oscillations of a system viscous liquid-barotropic gas in a container

    No full text
The authors study the small oscillations of a system viscous liquid-barotropic gas in a container. From the equations of motion and using two auxiliary problems, they reduce the eproblem to a sustem of operatorial equations in a suitable hilbertian space. By means of the methods of the functional equations, they prove the existance of the spectrum and study the properties

Small oscillations of a spherical liquid bridge between two equal disks under gravity zero

    No full text
In this paper, we consider the case of a spherical bridge built with an inviscid, incompressible liquid with density \rho. The study of the motion, which is assumed irrotational, is reduced to a variatonal equation on the function which gives the displacement of the free surface. We recognize that the stability of the equilibrium position depends essentially of the coerciveness of the bilinear form, which appears in this equation

A physical-computational modelling for analysis of Centromere patterns in IIF images

Autoimmune diseases are a family of more than 80 chronic, and often disabling, illnesses that develop when underlying defects in the immune system lead the body to attack its own organs, tissues, and cells. Diagnosing autoimmune diseases can be particularly difficult because these disorders can affect any organ or tissue in the body, and produce highly diverse clinical manifestations, depending on the site of autoimmune attack. Moreover, disease symptoms are often not apparent until the disease has reached a relatively advanced stage. These observations suggested us to develop an automated method to support the diagnosis. Developing an automated procedure for diagnosis of autoimmune diseases, generally authors focus their attention on cells detection, fluorescence intensity determination or pattern classification. Since different patterns correspond to different diseases, it is really important to be able to distinguish among different pattern, so we chosen to deal with the pattern recognition. Particularly we propose here a method to automatically classify the Centromere pattern based on the grouping of centromeres present on the cells through a clustering algorithm

The large containers for the storage of food appear in the archaeological contexts of central Tyrrhenian Italy since the protohistoric age. Over time, their use becomes increasingly important in various areas, including the sacral one. In fact, the presence of these artifacts in sanctuary areas is not unusual. Here they were used in ordinary activities (conservation and storage of solid and liquid foodstuffs) and, given their size and pivotal permanent use, they became an integral part of the functional furniture. The archaic and republican stratigraphies of the civic sanctuary of the Curiae Veteres, where - according to tradition - the citizens divided into curiae by Romulus celebrated the sacra (common meals), have returned a significant quantity of fragments referable to this category of material. Although these are objects found in a non-original position, their study has allowed to retrieve valuable information on the role played by these artefacts in the context of daily life of the sacred area thanks to the overall numbers of finds and the use of techno- typological and metrological approaches. An accurate analysis of the stratigraphies has also made it possible to carry out "long-term"; analyzes on some of these objects which, even in light of the construction costs, after an initial phase of life, sometimes appear to be reused to perform even functions other than the original intended use

summary:In a fuzzy measure space we study aggregation operators by means of the hypographs of the measurable functions. We extend the fuzzy measures associated to these operators to more general fuzzy measures and we study their properties

Designing fluorous domains. Synthesis of a series of pyridinium salts bearing a perfluoroalkylated azole moiety

The synthesis of a series of N-methylpyridinium salts bearing a perfluoroalkylated 1,2,4-oxadiazole or 1,2,4-triazole moiety is reported. X-Ray structures of representative perfluoroalkyl-triazolylpyridine (15) and methylpyridinium iodide salt (5a) are reported. Their crystal packing clearly shows segregation between the aromatic and parallel double layer fluorinated regions
