High-resolution coherency functionals for velocity analysis: An application for subbasalt seismic exploration
We tested the properties of three different coherency functionals for the velocity analysis of seismic data relative to subbasalt exploration. We evaluated the performance of the standard semblance algorithm and two high-resolution coherency functionals based on the use of analytic signals
and of the covariance estimation along hyperbolic traveltime trajectories. Approximate knowledge of the wavelet was exploited to design appropriate filters that matched the primary reflections, thereby further improving the ability of the functionals to highlight the events of interest. The tests were carried out on two synthetic seismograms computed on models reproducing the geologic setting of basaltic intrusions and on common midpoint gathers from a 3D survey. Synthetic and field data had a very low signal-to-noise ratio, strong multiple contamination, and weak primary subbasalt signals.
The results revealed that high-resolution coherency functionals were more suitable than semblance algorithms to detect primary signals and to distinguish them from multiples and other interfering events. This early discrimination between primaries and multiples could help to target specific
signal enhancement and demultiple operations
LMI-Based Design of a Robust Model Predictive Controller for a Class of Recurrent Neural Networks With Guaranteed Properties
This work proposes a novel robust nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) algorithm for systems described by a generic class of recurrent neural networks. The algorithm enables tracking of constant setpoints in the presence of input and output constraints. The terminal set and cost are defined based on linear matrix inequalities to ensure convergence and recursive feasibility in presence of process disturbances. Simulation results on a quadruple tank nonlinear process demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach
Fermi-GBM Team Analysis on The Ravasio Line
The prompt spectra of gamma-ray bursts are known to follow broadband continuum behavior over decades in energy. GRB 221009A, given the moniker the brightest of all time (BOAT), is the brightest gamma-ray burst identified in half a century of observations, and was first identified by the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM). On behalf of the Fermi-GBM Team, Lesage et al. (2023) described the initial GBM analysis. Ravasio et al. (2024) report the identification of a spectral line in part of the prompt emission of this burst, which they describe as evolving over 80 s from 12 MeV to 6 MeV. We report a GBM Team analysis on the Ravasio Line: 1) We cannot identify an instrumental effect that could have produced this signal, and 2) our method of calculating the statistical significance of the line shows it easily exceeds the 5 discovery threshold. We additionally comment on the claim of the line beginning at earlier time intervals, up to 37 MeV, as reported in Zhang et al. (2024). We find that it is reasonable to utilize these measurements for characterization of the line evolution, with caution. We encourage theoretical studies exploring this newly discovered gamma-ray burst spectral feature, unless any rigorous alternative explanation unrelated to the emission from GRB 221009A is identified
O zbieżnościach przekazów w objawieniach siostry Faustyny Kowalskiej i matki Eugenii Elisabetty Ravasio
This article confronts the private revelations of sister Faustyna Kowalska and mother Eugenia Elisabetta Ravasio. Their subject was two persons of the Holy Trinity: God the Father and Jesus Christ. The author shows the common threads of meaning contained in communications from both revelations and analyses the structure of the vision of the two nuns. According to the author, their characteristic feature is a combination of conceptual cognition and visual cognition, rarely seen in the history of private revelations. As part of the analysis of the sphere of meaning, an attempt is also made to read the common purpose of the activities of the persons of the Holy Trinity revealed to the mystics.W niniejszym artykule dokonuje się konfrontacji objawień prywatnych s. Faustyny Kowalskiej oraz m. Eugenii Elisabetty Ravasio.

Ketamine (K) and propofol (P) combination CRI is intravenous (IV) association used in humans and veterinary medicine (Arora 2008, Ilkiw & Pascoe 2003). Intraoperative anaesthetic variables and postoperative analgesic and sedative effects were evaluated. Fifteen female cats undergoing ovariectomy received IV loading dose of K plus P (2 mg kg-1 each) (n=8) mixed in the same syringe (ketofol) or ketofol added of dexmedetomidine (0.003 mg kg-1 IV) (n=7), followed by IV infusion of the ketofol mixture (10 mg kg-1 h-1 each). Physiological parameters and venous emogasanalysis were monitored during surgery and the count in the Heinz bodies formation was investigated. Blood concentrations of ketamine, norketamine and propofol were quantified by HPLC analysis. Sedation degree, the quality of recovery and pain assessment were also evaluated in the postoperative period. The intraoperative HR was significantly higher and the time of extubation was significantly shorter in the group receiving ketofol without dexmedetomidine. Blood emogasanalyses were not substantial different among groups and the infusion of propofol did not significantly increase oxidative damage to the red blood cells. The pharmacokinetic profile was similar for propofol and ketamine. During recovery the animals in both groups appeared restful, without pain. The total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) with ketofol appeared to be safe in cats, with fast and smooth recovery and adequate analgesia during postoperative period. Decrease HR in dexmedetomidine group resulted in a more stable haemodynamic state, but prolonged recovery time. The infusion of ketofol could represent a useful protocol for TIVA in cats undergoing moderately painful surgery.

Synthetic scope of alcohol transfer dehydrogenation catalyzed by Cu/Al2O3: a new metallic catalyst with unusual selectivity.
A method for the anaerobic oxidation of a wide series of alcohols including cyclohexanols and steroidal alcohols, has been set up. It relies on a transfer dehydrogenation reaction from the substrate alcohol to styrene catalyzed by a heterogeneous, reusable copper catalyst under very mild liquid-phase experimental conditions (90 degrees C, N(2)) and shows unusual selectivity. Thus, the method is selective for the oxidation of secondary and allylic alcohols even in the presence of unprotected primary and benzylic alcohols. Electronic effects and the choice of the hydrogen acceptor account for the selectivity observed
