Tensor products and perturbations of BiHom–Novikov–Poisson algebras

    No full text
We study BiHom–Novikov–Poisson algebras, which are twisted generalizations of Novikov–Poisson algebras and Hom–Novikov–Poisson algebras, and find that BiHom–Novikov–Poisson algebras are closed under tensor products and several kinds of perturbations. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given under which BiHom–Novikov–Poisson algebras give rise to BiHom-Poisson algebras

    BiHom-Novikov algebras and infinitesimal BiHom-bialgebras

    No full text
We introduce and study infinitesimal BiHom-bialgebras, BiHom-Novikov algebras, BiHom-Novikov-Poisson algebras, and find some relations among these concepts. Our main result is to show how to obtain a left BiHom-pre-Lie algebra from an infinitesimal BiHom-bialgebra

On a Solution of the Optimal Stopping Problem for Processes with Independent Increments

    Get PDF
We discuss a solution of the optimal stopping problem for the case when a reward function is a power function of a process with independent stationary increments (random walks or Levy processes) on an infinite time interval. It is shown that an optimal stopping time is the first crossing time through a level defined as the largest root of the Appell function associated with the maximum of the underlying process.

A class of fermionic Novikov superalgebras which is a class of Novikov superalgebras

summary:We construct a special class of fermionic Novikov superalgebras from linear functions. We show that they are Novikov superalgebras. Then we give a complete classification of them, among which there are some non-associative examples. This method leads to several new examples which have not been described in the literature

L-fuzzy ideals and L-fuzzy subalgebras of Novikov algebras

    No full text
In this paper, we apply the concept of fuzzy sets to Novikov algebras, and introduce the concepts of L-fuzzy ideals and L-fuzzy subalgebras. We get a sufficient and neccessary condition such that an L-fuzzy subspace is an L-fuzzy ideal. Moreover, we show that the quotient algebra A/μ of the L-fuzzy ideal μ is isomorphic to the algebra A/Aμ of the non-fuzzy ideal Aμ. Finally, we discuss the algebraic properties of surjective homomorphic image and preimage of an L-fuzzy ideal

Automorphic Lie algebras with dihedral symmetry

    No full text
The concept of automorphic Lie algebras arises in the context of reduction groups introduced in the early 1980s in the field of integrable systems. Automorphic Lie algebras are obtained by imposing a discrete group symmetry on a current algebra of Krichever–Novikov type. Past work shows remarkable uniformity between algebras associated to different reduction groups. For example, if the base Lie algebra is sl2(C) and the poles of the automorphic Lie algebra are restricted to an exceptional orbit of the symmetry group, changing the reduction group does not affect the Lie algebra structure. In this research we fix the reduction group to be the dihedral group and vary the orbit of poles as well as the group action on the base Lie algebra. We find a uniform description of automorphic Lie algebras with dihedral symmetry, valid for poles at exceptional and generic orbits

Property A, partial translation structures and uniform embeddings in groups

    No full text
We define the concept of a partial translation structure T on a metric space X and we show that there is a natural C*-algebra C*(T) associated with it which is a subalgebra of the uniform Roe algebra C*u(X). We introduce a coarse invariant of the metric which provides an obstruction to embedding the space in a group. When the space is sufficiently group-like, as determined by our invariant, properties of the Roe algebra can be deduced from those of C*(T). We also give a proof of the fact that the uniform Roe algebra of a metric space is a coarse invariant up to Morita equivalence

Fermionic Novikov algebras admitting invariant non-degenerate symmetric bilinear forms

summary:Novikov algebras were introduced in connection with the Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type and Hamiltonian operators in the formal variational calculus. Fermionic Novikov algebras correspond to a certain Hamiltonian superoperator in a supervariable. In this paper, we show that fermionic Novikov algebras equipped with invariant non-degenerate symmetric bilinear forms are Novikov algebras

On the Morse–Novikov Cohomology of blowing up complex manifolds

Inspired by the recent works of S. Rao–S. Yang–X.-D. Yang and L. Meng on the blow-up formulae for de Rham and Morse–Novikov cohomology groups, we give a new simple proof of the blow-up formula for Morse–Novikov cohomology by introducing the relative Morse–Novikov cohomology group via sheaf cohomology theory and presenting the explicit isomorphism therein

A Riemann-Hilbert Approach for the Novikov Equation

    No full text
We develop the inverse scattering transform method for the Novikov equation ut−utxx+4u²ux=3uuxuxx+u²uxxx considered on the line x∈(−∞,∞) in the case of non-zero constant background. The approach is based on the analysis of an associated Riemann-Hilbert (RH) problem, which in this case is a 3×3 matrix problem. The structure of this RH problem shares many common features with the case of the Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equation having quadratic nonlinear terms (see [Boutet de Monvel A., Shepelsky D., Nonlinearity 26 (2013), 2081-2107, arXiv:1107.5995]) and thus the Novikov equation can be viewed as a ''modified DP equation'', in analogy with the relationship between the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation and the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation. We present parametric formulas giving the solution of the Cauchy problem for the Novikov equation in terms of the solution of the RH problem and discuss the possibilities to use the developed formalism for further studying of the Novikov equation. This paper is a contribution to the Special Issue on Asymptotics and Universality in Random Matrices, Random Growth Processes, Integrable Systems and Statistical Physics in honor of Percy Deift and Craig Tracy.
